Indeed ECP was a great mod and it would be good to see them back but i'm scepticle about the possibility of them coming back.

No one is preventing you from working on it yourself, instead of begging someone else to give up their valuable free time

The only petition we should be having is to enable the moderators to delete all petitions on sight, this community, or at least parts of it, have started creating petitions and request threads for just about anything

Want something? Start working on it yourself, and maybe others will join you, requests are rarely filled in this community

Any idea on how to make new models for ArmA? Or reskin soldiers?

If only there was a sticky on what tools we need and where to get it and also tutorials on these then i guess it'll be easier for people who have the interest to start working on another stellar mod.

It was, EECP was the extended version by a 3rd Party to exchange most of the units and vehicles

In that case, I think ECP could be either ported or rewritten in ArmA. I think it could be doable with the permission of the original owners ofcourse.

ECP was made that way:

There were already a bunch of useful scripts and other stuff as workarounds for lots of limitations in OFP e.g:

debuging console - fire dispersion - AI Join, Release Group -

flies (first on Tonahl me thinks) - sandstorms by CATSHIT -

custom sounds and explosion mods - just to mention a few.

Now some people who made those scripts thought they could

work together and put everything into one piece + add

some other stuff into it.

All this has taken a long time to be made and it was based

on a long period of mission and addon making experience

from those who made it.

Now ArmA is just not that long here that there would be

enough stuff/experience to think on making an ECP mod

at the moment.

If you let some time go by i'm sure that once again a few

people will put their brains together to start working on

such a project - but before ArmA needs to run smooth

for everybody and at all for those over the Atlantic ocean.

I think this thread is really senseless... Stop requesting addons... We don't have the new tools! Ok, you can do alot with the old ones, but not all what is featured in arma... At this moment requests are useless to all... Instead of requesting tons of addons start work on your own...

A mod like ECP would take a minimum of a year i think. So give them time if they really work on a new project... who knows!

But you better give the mods of old good OFP a break...

SLX is alive.

Solus is working on a SLX mod for ArmA. He did an outstanding job for OFP. Better than ECP! So this is the mod we all have to look forward to.

Solus is extremely capable of implementing functions and scripts to BIS game configs. So I'm sure he will present us a SLX mod that will make us forget ECP. (Of course lot of his work is based on ECP, so the guys from ECP had a pioneer role in this.)

Solus we all really hope to see SLX for ArmA soon!

(But so far i got to know Solus, he's a little perfectionist, so he won't release it until he's really happy with it)

Ecp will come back if they decide to comeback

but i do think eventually some people will put togheter similar mods that work like Ecp. so i think the future is bright, just work out some stuff learn to fly aircrafts or drive the motorcycles without crashing them or do missions and learn addon making whatever you feel that you can handle.

Does ayone know if he ever added dynamic speech to SLX for OFP?

The more I think about it probably not, as he specifically designed it to work hand it hand with ECP (which would handle all the dynamic speech).

So hopefully Solus will add an ECP style dynamic speech component to SLX for ArmA!  

(To me, OFP/ArmA is kinda stale without ECP style dynamic speech. )

ECP has the sharpest AI in OFP.

With super AI turned on in close quarters urban combat the enemy reaction time is good. You can kill three or four enemies if you time it right but your position will have a grenade in it a second later. The AI communication makes them almost seem competent.

Cool... just went and checked the SLX thread again and sounds like he quashed all those ctd bugs that were there when it came out.  Got to try again now.

If there's anything in ArmA I'd like to see replaced, it's those god-awful voices.  Bad enough in the radio, even worse when they actually say that stuff in-game.
