Hi, i will be very sorry if i lost the Marpat(W) & Marpat(D) grunts

to basic infantry in flyght suits; i'll sugest to add the new gear

to the basic infantry and leave the flight suits for the combat

divers, flight suits in OD Green and OD Green Protec helmets for

the "woodland" Force Recon units and Coyote Tan flight suits

and Coyote Tan Ptrotec helmets for the desert FR units. But i

think that they'll have too much Entry units shape instead field

units; and make Entry and Field FR units will be overwork you,

and we don't want that; at least i don't.

Anyway... those new units look really great, if you gonna rework

the G.I's... please, try to do the sleeve pockets in 3D and with the

edged shape if you can; that's something that i missed in the v1.3

Let's C ya.

Hi, i said to use the Protec helmets in the Combat Divers, certainly

the pics that i've seen of the USMC Force Recon units, used the Mitch

TCH 2000 or 2001 or the standard USMC helmet and Marpat or

3 colour BDU's or woodland.

But if John had to do, the basic grunts in Marpat, the FR units with

Mitch helmets (with or without cover) and then the Combat Divers...

i think that the man will turn mad & will not have much fun.Let's C ya

Only a wild guess but it may have to do with the flightsuits being fireproof which could help a lot in ambushes and probably they are more comforteable.

But i guess someone with more knowledge will enlighten us soon.

---EDIT---

After some googeling i found this on the USA Today website:

"By Tom Vanden Brook, USA TODAY

FALLUJAH, Iraq — Marine commanders are outfitting their troops with flame-resistant flight suits in Iraq to ward off burns from the No. 1 killer here: roadside bombs.

It's another sign of how troops in the field have adapted to the deadly insurgency. Earlier in the war, troops added their own armor to vehicles and devised their own makeshift electronic jamming devices to foil the growing power and sophistication of the bombs they encountered.

Marine commanders in Iraq took the initiative to issue flame- and heat-resistant clothing made from a DuPont-manufactured fiber called Nomex, said Lt. Col. Bryan Salas, a spokesman for Multi-National Force West. That group commands about 33,000 troops in western Iraq, the heart of the Sunni-based insurgency.

The intense heat from the bombs, called improvised explosive devices or IEDs, led Marine commanders to get the protective apparel, Salas said.

Troops who ride in tanks, trucks and armored personnel carriers received most of the first suits.

Explosives kill or wound more troops than any other weapon in Iraq, according to Pentagon records. Through Tuesday, roadside bombs have killed more than 1,200 U.S. servicemembers and wounded more than 11,000 others.

So far, the Marines have issued more than 12,000 fire-resistant suits, said Capt. Jeff Landis, spokesman for the Marine Corps Systems Command.

Only those Marines who leave forward operating bases receive the suits, Landis said, so there's been enough to go around.

In February, the Marines started a research and development program to develop clothing — including shirt, gloves and suit — to help troops survive a fiery blast.

Marines stationed in restive Anbar province in western Iraq say they like the flame-resistant suits.

"The Marine Corps made a great decision with the issuing of flight suits to Marines in vehicles," said Marine Capt. Eric Dominijanni, 34.

He sends his Marines from the 5th Regimental Combat Team on patrol every day over roads pockmarked and scorched by bomb blasts. "Remember, all vehicles have fuel tanks," Dominijanni said. "If they explode, the suits protect us from burns"

Members of the 5,000-strong combat team received their first suits in February, said Lt. Joseph King, a Marine spokesman. Troops received more of the dun-colored suits, dubbed "Poop Suits" by the Marines, in the spring, King said.

The Army also has begun to issue fire-resistant flight suits to tank and truck drivers in Iraq, said Lt. Col. Carl Ey, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon.

Next year, the Army plans to issue fire-resistant pullovers, boots and socks, records show."

Now all we need is the Nascar helmets, Hans restraints, removable window netting then it's off to Daytona. What the Humvee Lacks in speed it can make up for in width and the ability to drive competitors in to the wall. Oh boy I hope Nascar sees this post. whistle.gif

Seriously now. I like the flightsuit look. The new version looks promising.

Hi, i really find hard to belive that the Defense Dept. have money

enough as for equip all the USMC grunts with flight suits; the tank

crews use gnomex suits long ago; but i repeat. Will be a serious loose

if we loose the Marpat BDU's in favor of the flight suits for the basic

units. Let's C ya

Nobody ever said that there wont be only nomex suits for the marines  crazy_o.gif

i've done all the basic marpat textures ages ago so it will be only be a matter of copy'n pasting and fixing the normal maps.

btw. a nomex flight suit is around $160-$200...

Who the f said that i am going to do combat divers?

Btw i've already got a mich 2000 model ready aswell as a mich 2002 helmet model...

The only thing i am really concerned about anymore is, that i have to use an extra texture due do to the very limited space i have left on the current uv maps...

btw jonny marines are now in limited numbers issuing brand spanking new m4's.

my buddies in the middle. hes an engineer hence the monster truck in the background

they've been over there for not even a month and one of his guys already got hit with an ied! but beacuse of the fact that there vehicles are so up armored now a days the guy walked away without a scratch and a smile on his face.

so essentualy this post is about, can we see an m4 with an acog on it? these would be the correct ones but if the model is just used from the one on the a4 ingame its almost exactly the same.

Thanks for the info. Hope your bud is safe.

Yes my marines will definitly get m4's with acog's and eventually other sights.

I am planning on equiping the nomex guys with a mix of m4's and m16's. The other guys will probably all get m16's.

Hi, i though that you'll (John) update your great USMC units redoing

'em ONLY with flight suits. Once clean (for me) that we don't gonna

loose the best USMC units made until the date for the ArmA... i

feel much better. And much more knowing that you'll give 'em

they're own weaponry.

The weapons that i miss from BIS, are some M4 Aimpoint M203,

M4ACOG & M4ACOG-QD. If i had MLOD models of the required

BIS weapons... i'll do 'em "myself" as i did my OFP M4A1's pack;

but ain't have those MLOD weapons. Anyway... great news in that

post of yours; i'll be waiting.

P.S: Im glad that that Marine fella of yours (Starduks) is ok now,

i hope that the man get back home in one piece someday.

Hi there, im really loving the new models, ive always wanted to see the soldiers/marines with more volume in the equipment they lumber around, so u can actually feel the weight of urself in the game.

SUGGESTION: A minor thing but ive always hated how the arm sleeves wrap around their arms tightly which is very unrealistic to the fatigues they wear in combat (i would know, ive worn it before). They tend to be more weighty and drabs on you. Is it ok if u give the arm sleeves more volume rather than unrealistically tighten around their arms? just adds to the overall package of them, its real minor but would be much appreciated and much more effective if done. cheers man, thanks alot
