The thing about this game is. The whole "Grity" feeling of war just isnt there. Everythings too colorfull an feels like im on vacation rather than engaging enemy. So I dunno try to make em look a bit war torn. More dirty and darker. But other than that they look damn good and I'm using em.

Very True! This game just doesn't have the whole war feeling when your AI teammate Says Oh----No----Three-----Is------Down!

It just doesn't feel that realistic like Battlefield 2 with a fog of war or REALISTIC voices or sounds. i get what you mean. wink_o.gif

Despite any perceived flaws in the game, Jonny, I think that these retexes are amazing. The quality of the textures are really nice and clear, which can be a pain in the arse to do with digital camo. Great work!

Version 1.3 Released !

New version comes with many texture changes aswell as some new textures for the force recons.

This however, will be the last version so there wont be any changes in the near future.

Looks awesome mate, good job. Hopefully when we're able to convert the core unit models to an editable format, we (the community, if you're giving up on these and making no further edits) will be able to get them looking 100% uber-accurate. Nice work again.

Found some problems with the wound textures on some units: the Engineers don't get any face-wounds (weird?) and the Force Recon units both in desert and woodland formats don't seem to have any wounds at all either.

Otherwise very nicely made units! *thumbs up*

Hi, now we only need some good coop missions and that the public

MP servers use 'em; ain't like that much how the woodland vest

look on the FR units, but i guess that's the best that can be made

without change the vest model for a M-CIRAS model and textures,

will had been nice to give 'em a green or Tan Mitch-TC2000 with some

velcro pieces at the sides or on the top; but this Marines look good,

and what i've said... now we only need some MP missions for use 'em

and public servers that host the missions. Let's C ya

Now I haven't gotten to try this out yet, but I must say that judging by the screenies they are THE best looking textures i have seen out for MARPAT. Now that i have stated jhow I feel on it and the fact that I haven't gotten to play it, I have a question about the screenies: Why does it look like one of the Units has the doublesided Helmet cover inside out? He has the desert side out and the rest is Woodies... Is that meant to be like that? I dunno, looks kinda goofy to me, but Marines may do that in real world on purpose, not like in the beginning of the war when they didn't have enough supplies for their purposes.

no thats my fault. it was a wip screen and the texture wasnt. done at this point.

Iam just too lazy or not able to take a new proper screenshot. Thats all confused_o.gif

guess ill remove the screen as soon as ill get a better one smile_o.gif

if it were up to me then id want BIS to use these as official units, so that we'd finally sort out the marrmy issue that people had been talking about, as well as them being great anyway

So you can replace the ACU's with the MARPATS, if so how i just downloaded Arma today and i would like a step process on how to put them in and change them. Thanks a lot and also what would be beter to download is Arma more of a woodland type or a desert type. Also which one do i DL do i want the latest one or what. P.S. i am new to Arma and OFP

Hi, well DevilDog... replace the game's ACU textures with this Marpat

textures is a bit complex. You'll need:

A) PBO pack/unPack tool.

B) Open the Characters.pbo, locate the original textures inside the

opened folders and replace 'em with the Marpat textures inside

this Marines.

C) RePack again the Characters (or Data.pbo) folder and copy it

again inside the ArmA folder.

The thing with this is that you may not play in MP or patch the

game, because you moded a file in the game. But i think that that's

the right way for replace the ACU textures with the textures of this

Marines. Hope that this info helps you. Let's C ya
