da12thMonkey 1943 Posted May 13, 2006 Those are the screens in Parker's article. I guess Ti0n3r was lucky enough to check WW2EC's site when I did. At least I know I didn't imagine reading the article now .
Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 13, 2006 I got greedy and downloaded all the pics as fast as I could.

Friedchiken 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Ti0n3r, your contribution is to be congratulated. I'm pretty tempted right now to make pornography references, but I think that would be immature. Â It's like exploding because it's been so long of a drought or something. Wait! Â Am I going to publish this???

Friedchiken 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Hey tioner can you copypaste the article here? I was dumb enough to close the window by mistake Something I remember though; It said something about a rebel group, SLA. Sorry to nag, but do you have the article in your cache? I have no idea what I'm talking about or how to check the internet history, my apologies.
NeMeSiS 11 Posted May 13, 2006 Quote[/b] ]In the original OFP death would mean the end of the mission. ArmA, on the other hand, takes the death cam around to the next in command and you enter his boots to continue the battle. This is something any Rainbow Six player should be familiar with. Eh? aus_twisted 0 Posted May 13, 2006 No matter I posted the whole thing but it's back up now and slightly changed like stated above.
Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 13, 2006 Two things to whine about... Quote[/b] ]After regrouping at the patch of trees, we head over the crest of the hill in front of us. Unfortunately, on the other side of the crest is a group of rebels waiting for us. After some gunfire and an attempted retreat, I am killed. This is where another new feature comes into play. In the original OFP death would mean the end of the mission. ArmA, on the other hand, takes the death cam around to the next in command and you enter his boots to continue the battle. This is something any Rainbow Six player should be familiar with. Quote[/b] ]The enemy AI itself doesn't seem much different from the OFP AI, except they appear more aggressive. By this point we had already talked late into the afternoon and the E3 staff was ready to kick us out, thus ending my hand-on demonstration. I guees it's still WIP though, since that build was 75% complete.
ThruYerStErNuM 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Heh now I know who parker is, I remember doing this http://ww2ec.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/e107_fi....s_s.jpg thinking reduced gamma might darken the ground (which looked too bright), but the HDR made the sky and buildings a little too bright after that. Average Joe 0 Posted May 13, 2006 http://ww2ec.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/e107_files/images/airborne.jpg no, no NO! Pilots fly choppers not regular infantry!
martinovic 0 Posted May 13, 2006 I think he just jumped into a chopper as a soldier.
Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 13, 2006 Guees the pilots are a WIP
berghoff 11 Posted May 13, 2006 After having played several x360 demos with HDR (Fight night, Project gotham racing.. etc), ArmA ones seems to be not that bright at all compared to those .
Average Joe 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Hell how can I complain about the little things, this'll be the last game I ever play!

Parker 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Well I was going to do some kind of announcement about the article, but you guys are just too fast. Seriously, I was editing it and making sure it looked right and you just happened by in that window of a few minutes. You're good. Anyways, so the article is up. Didn't get too much new info, but do have some blurry screens. Some nitpicky things in there. Didn't even mention the missing anims (I'm sure BIS will take full advantage of their motion capture studio for the final build). It is what it is. As if you guys haven't seen it by now here is the link http://ww2ec.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/content.php?article.9. My thanks to placebo, Bohemia, and IDEA Games for working with me and sharing the information. And ThruYerStErNuM, I know you too.
Parker 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Oh and the black box at the top left of the briefing screen does play video clips. My camera just has a delay and didn't catch it until it was in transition.
