I'd be suprised if BIS released more content for the game after the initial release... why bother when the community will do it for you

Because it would be official, the community add-ons are great and all but, if you look at it from the perspective of someone just getting into ofp/arma, it’s going to be real annoying for that group due to servers running single addons. They don’t want to be searching sites for a single tank or helicopter, making sure that it’s the right version and that it doesn’t need other addons to function. They just want to play.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'd rather see the community vote on some official addon packs during the first few months the game is out...

And only after the game has been released at least 2-4 months would I like to see user-made/unofficial addons being released.

Edit: BTW - hmmwv - that USMC Blackhawk in BF2 is actually a USN Seahawk if I'm not mistaken. It's still wrong though =/

As far as I know the US Army no longer operates Cobras, some National Guard units MAY still have them, but they don't get deployed outside of the States.

Yea Cobras were phased out of the Army when Apaches showed up, but the Super Cobra came after that and has only served with the USMC.

Even so, BIS made plenty of mistakes in OFP, especially with the weapons.

But that's not important, what's important is that regardless of what they should and shouldn't have done, OFP was still a huge success. I expect no less with ArmA.

I just said that because in the current AH-1Y shown in the screenshots, you can clearly read "United States Army", and as we already said, U.S Army doesn´t operate the cobra anymore. But even more important is the fact that the AH-1Y were developed as an improved version of the previous Whiskey, exclusively for the USMC.

They won´t probably correct it, but... I can´t really understand why there´s not an Apache instead of this Game 2 Super Cobra.

I've been patiently waiting years for the next game and at the moment i would feel much relief if a delay was anounced .

I hope this is just their traditional sense of humour, considering BIS involvement with the military it makes me believe they wouldnt need SME's to create new game content...

On a slight more positive note the civilian vehicles look good, i hope a cessna or civilian transport helicopter makes it though.

by far the best I've seen of AA is the preview video that's on the site.
