Looking at thos new screenies, my new name is:

"Operation Flashy: The Plastic Wars"

Its looks like George Lucas had his part to play here, with everything looking shiny and superficial as possible, forgetting the raw feel of his earlier star wars films... DX9 madness I tells ya.

That doesn't really matter as the community will release lots of less plasticy stuff. Another thing is that screenshots always look more waxy/plasticy than what is looks like in a video/whilst playing.

I have to say that the grass cover looks brilliant, it's going to be great looking out for snipers etc out there.

I also see no Xbox logo anywhere on the site. I think Codemasters was the one that pushed BIS to make OFP for Xbox. Codemasters has always had the idea of making a game for every single platform. It could also be why the name is Armed Assault. Maybe BIS told Codies to go bite the big one One can only hope but even if not. I still say this is PC screen shots

Nor was it at Gamespy... I guess it's just because the OFP series are relatively unknown. I wouldn't worry about it, we know BIs is going to be there, and they wouldn't be there unless OFP2 was going to be featured.

nothing to do with it being relitivly unknown, the actual games theyre showing are being kept secret thus un-announced (bis aint the only ones not giving game names), bis are there thats all that matters :P

Here is what I wish happens

AA is an expansion pack to OFP or rather an upgrade which upgrades the grafic engine, add new soldier models, a few new units and missions. It is also a standalone like GOTY with VBS-like editing and is OFP 1.99 then it would atract new players and the existing comunity would quickly convert to this, editing cpps, models, to this upgrade. It is released fairly quick after E3. Then BIS has taken CWC to its end and problery gaind more players plus made some money. OFP2 is released in first half of 2006 bringing even more editing and better grafics they are better known because of AA and makes more money and get even more players.

reason to think/wish this is that the pictures of AA looks too good for the current XBOX and 360 is stil fare away and the game looks prity complete. BIS has not long ago asked for the comunity computer specs.

Everything is indeed up in the air now.  Just looking around, there are so many ideas of what is going to happen/screenies are from, that no one actually knows the correct answers apart from BIS.

It would be nice if we could get a straight answer, but that isn't going to happen until E3 actually starts.  So everybody, pack it in with the speculation!!!!  and just wait a couple of days until we know the full story!
