ECP 1.075...The countdown begins.

The modmakers are working hard and you are only asking when it is going to be released, that isn't a very nice thing to do.

The specified release date has been "days" for more than half a year so wtf do you expect..?

If you cant behave maturely and ask about something ECP related then theres no point having this thread and i think we should get the mods to lock it up.

No taking screenshot isnt gonna delay anything because i am taking them not someone on the dev team.

Whats new about that? pilots in ECP eject the same way as normal BIS ones do.

Also i have a bit of a question for anyone who might know how do you take a movie in FRAPS and have it low in size? I took a small clip of a grenade effect , hardly 10-15 sec and it was 88 mb big crazy_o.gif .

You'll need to compress it in virtualdub (or something like that). FRAPS doesn't compress the clips as it would take to much CPU in use. smile_o.gif

I use Windows Movie maker to compress my vids from fraps, just drag the movie in put the clips onto the story board and then go file export and theres a few options and it takes the movies from like 1gb to 40mbs lol really usefull.

spot on... get virtuadub (fraps even recommends it and tells you how to use it) and it should compress that to about 5mb smile_o.gif

To stop the spamming all you need to do is rename this thread "ECP1.075 the countdown has stopped and will restart when it is closer to release".... or just close it and give it a new title like "ECP... ask your questions here"... something like that.

Aboot the 3d craters:

Is it a model on the ground, or an actual depression from ground level?

Ie: Is a crater model placed where an explosion takes place?

All of it looks grand. I just hope it's released soon, so I can leave the computer and shave this ever-growing beard. tounge_o.gif

What I meant was this:

Say you fire a tank round at a hillside.

In standard OFP, a crater texture is placed on the ground at the point of impact.

What I was asking was instead of a crater texture ,a model of a crater be placed on the ground.

The model I'm picturing would have a dirt texture, it would basically create a ring of dirt sitting on the ground, to at least simulate a 3d crater, because, as far as I know, it is impossible to actually modify the ground level in game, much less in the small proportions needed to simulate realistic craters.

Well it was my first foray in to the world of Videoeditting i am usually a screenshot guy and never dared to enter the world of moving screens tounge_o.gif , so excuse the crappy video and quality as well (divx messed up the quality after compression ,wtf? Anyone know a way around this rock.gif ).

So basically i took this film while playing Return to Eden from the CWC campaign , i am leading my troops hillside throwing nades like crazy just for the vid and suddenly you see a russian guy throwing a nade at ME (cant se him becoz of smoke) and then you see screen going white and me becoming disorientated , pity i couldnt get the sounds , i had checked the box in FRAPS for that and in other test vids i made it was there but not this time?

Thats all for now i'll try to make much better ones from now on as i slowly learn how to go about this video business (its pretty neat and i see a new addiction apart from screenshot coming up crazy_o.gif ).

Hmm it works for me. Just click the free option at the first page then at the next when it loads wait for the 60 sec timeout before it starts the d/ld at the bottom of the page the link appears click it smile_o.gif.

Ofcourse. ECP is being made with OFP 1.96 running.

I know you've all heard this a zillion times, but we are getting there...

If I were to guess I'd say ~2-3 weeks unless something unforseen comes up.

I bet he is, Placebo needs to know his place too, he might be a eight-foot-tall baby eater, but I want him to show the right example when telling people to include a picture with their post tounge_o.gif .

Nice vid btw, OFP handles small objects a bit odd, let alone a small object with high velocity... let's hope it will be ok smile_o.gif

Stop spamming shadow tounge_o.gif , i mean macguba already posted this (see the top of the page).

Gandalf grenades in ECP for now are handled VERY well considering how crap OFP is with small objects and particle collision , i've seen nades do roll overs and will go down hill if you drop them with a bit of speed from a top of a hill , if you throw them with not much speed and on a flat surface it'll lay still smile_o.gif .
