    FFUR Incoming HUGE RELEASE !!!

Looks amazing... Just one thing I notice about those winter screens: The non-evergreen trees still have their leaves, they just have snow on them... I know it is too late to change that, and it's only minor, but in case you do release a patch or something, that is something you may wish to fix if it isn't too much trouble Thanks for the great work!

    Yucata County Sheriff's Department

Now this is something I want to see. *Excellent* work. Well, that's what quite a few of the departments look like in the U.S. Some even wear tactical vests.

    LWP MOD

No, there are at least two people interested. Very good work on the addons from what I see in the screens. We're on our way to having the entire warsaw pact in OFP.
  4. Yes, but CSLA works on the Czech's communist era only. They don't work on modern Czech Republic projects. It would be great to see some modern Czech SF. In respect to Canadian Terror's post above: I'm intrigued. It's good to see that Northstar is still ticking.

    CQC Techniques ?

I actually quite like that idea. Blackop missions would have a whole new element to them. But I think it would be a bit complicated to implement, and I don't think it'll realistically be implemented. Funny you should mention Krav Maga, as I just started classes not too long ago.
  6. May I just say that BIS completely, utterly, and entirely rules everything that is good and perfect in the gaming world. This is just another example of that fact.
  7. Well, what I was saying is that people are already labeling it as garbage... I'll agree with you, I'm not expecting it to be a great game. But I'm giving them a chance. The only thing that bothers me is all these people saying that their game is trash when they haven't even layed eyes on anything related to it besides a post by their community liason officer in their forums.
  8. How do you know it will be crap? Seriously, no one has even played it and they are judging it... That's like saying a concept car will have bad fuel economy even before the design is unveiled. I, personally, will buy both. If the CM one turns out to be awful, hey, at most it'll be $50, not exactly a substantial blow to the wallet. Because the chance of CM making a good game (compared with OFP and Game 2) is rather low, as they don't got too much experience. Yes they had some guys working with BIS on OFP, but BIS still got best experience. So, biggest chance BIS will make the best game. And think about it...BIS had probaly already worked a lot on game 2 before they broke with CM, so CMs OFP2 was probaly started long time after BIS started on game 2, if CMs OFP2 is under development yet. So most likely CM will push the release of OFP2 to get it out at the same time as BIS' game 2, and therefor it will be really shit (compared to BIS' game 2). As an example, SI Games and Eidios broke, after years of SI Games developing Championship Manager, and Eidios publishing it. SI Games started making Football Manager, same game as before with new name and new publisher, while Eidios got a new developer for Championship Manager, same name, new game. Football Manager turned out to be really good, Championship Manager turned out to be really crap. Why? SI Games had the rights to the database and all that from older Championship Manager games and they had the experience. Eidios' new developer started from scratch without the same experience. So, BIS got the best chance of a good game, CM got a good chance for their game being crap. Time will show, but I'll put my money on BIS. BIS have given us the best game ever, and I trust they will make the game that finally beats their old baby. That didn't quite answer my question... Nor did it really adress the point of my post. What I'm saying is this: No one is giving CM a chance. Without even seeing a screen or hearing about features, they are writing it off as garbage. It doesn't matter if they don't have experience as a publisher. They may hire a top-notch development team that has some great Ideas, great workers, as well as talent and skill. Now, I'll agree it is rather low for them to try and cash in on the Operation Flashpoint name, stealing it from BIS, but, really, no one here has enough information to judge their game. I'll support the BIS game most definitely, as I know it'll be great. It may, and in all likelihood will, be better than the CM game. But, I will not write off the CM game as crap, or as a BF1942 copy until I play a demo, read on features, and see screens. And as to the last post by Bikecop: I hope that was a sarcastic post... I'm rather tired right now, so forgive me if it was.

  10. I understand... It's just that the thread had not been active for almost an entire month and even then the mod's status was in question. But, I'll keep that in mind next time I want to ressurect something. Oh well, at least I know now that it's still living. Keep up the good work guys. MFSP
  11. Well, I figure I'll ressurect this in the hopes of seeing this mod come to life. Is it still ticking? MFSP
  12. What I meant was this: Say you fire a tank round at a hillside. In standard OFP, a crater texture is placed on the ground at the point of impact. What I was asking was instead of a crater texture ,a model of a crater be placed on the ground. The model I'm picturing would have a dirt texture, it would basically create a ring of dirt sitting on the ground, to at least simulate a 3d crater, because, as far as I know, it is impossible to actually modify the ground level in game, much less in the small proportions needed to simulate realistic craters. MFSP
  13. Aboot the 3d craters: Is it a model on the ground, or an actual depression from ground level? Ie: Is a crater model placed where an explosion takes place? All of it looks grand. I just hope it's released soon, so I can leave the computer and shave this ever-growing beard. MFSP
  14. Thanks for the reply... I remember doing so last time I set-up buldozer. Every file related to buldozer, the islands, custom objects, etc. were all set up in my D: directory. It's unfortunate buldozer won't import unbinarized wrps, I never knew that. I'll try to put the folders in their own directory, and see if that fixes anything. Thanks. MFSP (Good job one homeland, by the way.)
  15. MMMkay, well I'm a newbie to the forums in terms of posts, but not in terms of reading. So here is my dilemma: I installed and became proficient in buldozer back when it first came out. I was making an island, until my computer crashed. Well after about a year of not touching it, I was going to help make a section of an island for someone. Well, to my dismay, upon reinstallation of visitor (on my new, better computer) buldozer refuses to: A. Import a wrp file without crashing B. Reload without crashing It also crashes when I click the left mouse button on the map. The crash brings up everyone's favorite window: "Buldozer has encountered a problem and must close... blabla.. report this to microsoft so we can't do anything constructive about our flawed OS... blabla" I've tried copying my flashpoint.cfg file from the standard directory. I've tried working buldozer in a window... I've tried all I know to fix it, but it still isn't working. Could someone please help a fellow islander? Thanks, MFSP
