sanctuary 19 Posted February 10, 2005 This is a mini-pack including 3 anmations files : -a modification of the BIS "jog" animation (sbeh0l.rtm) -a modification of this new "jog" animation to fit the sprint animation , and as it looks good ingame , it is a part of this pack (ssprint0.rtm) -the file klEkBEH.rtm that is supposed to begin the transition between the crouch aiming to the jog/sprint animation. But the interpolation with this new "crouch to jog/sprint" animation is not perfect , i tried to limit the (fortunately quick) brutal transition and even if it can be better, it is always smoother than using BIS default to "link" the crouch and the my jog/sprint custom animations. To download those 3 animations file just Right Click on that link and Save..As. Then replace the file of the same name located in an Anim.pbo to use them ingame. Thunderbird 0 Posted February 11, 2005 Thank you a lot Sanctuary , you're doing a lovely work ... let continue this nice stuff
sanctuary 19 Posted February 12, 2005 Previously i made a pack with 6 static animations and 12 interpolation animations that were linking those 6 static animation smoothly. Then i made an alternative to this pack , remaking all the anims (static and interpolations) with the position of the extremety of the foot less bent (to simulate the hardness of the boot material) Now, i reworked those animations, to try to give a more natural and human like interpolation, and i think the result is really better (as i don't have a motion capture utility ), so here is this new pack Right Click on that link then Save...As to download those 18 animations files. To install and use them ingame, just replace the files of the same name found in an Anim.pbo To have an idea of what they look (look up there for what correspond to the animation names) , refer to a previous post (in the previous page) with screenshots (but the reworked interpolation animations from this pack can't be seen in the screenshot )

sanctuary 19 Posted February 13, 2005 Thank you , but be sure to use the "fixed" version of the pack from OFP.info, as the previous pack (released for just 1 hour yesterday) had a problem (esthetic problem) i overlooked in the aiming animations.
Wilco 944 Posted February 13, 2005 has a violent strangle script been created yet or a cut throat one?? I made a hanging one, but scrapped it.
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Great work Sanctuary! First anim pack that will stay on my hard drive, everything looks nice and I can't found any bugs. MfG Lee
sanctuary 19 Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks Remember if you are not satisfied by something (by example if you prefer the standing animation from a different pack), that you can mix other animations from different sources. The only problem would be the interpolation, as those interpolation files were made for my static animations only, and would not look smooth anymore for different animations. From my tests, you can replace the -AI only- standing animation named " savarestanistat.rtm " by anything without breaking the smooth animations, as it is OFP itself that interpolate it with another animation, without needing an interim animation. Tomislav 0 Posted February 13, 2005 really sweet to play
benus 0 Posted February 13, 2005 again this pack is more or less perfect: SMOOTH I replaced the STAND READY (AI only) because those guys shouln't be afraid of something all the time. and this anim makes no problems with the others. but one question is it possible to bring the STAND AIMING postion back to the BASIS one.... with little change that it works smooth with your crouching one. therefore the klekdostani.rtm ---> Crouching Aiming to Stand Aiming (interpolation) needs to be chanced I think. that would be SO nice. THX for this great work benus
MrZig 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I just downloaded your anim pack from ofp.info and I have to say it's pretty nice. I especially like the care you put into the transitioning, a definate winner in my opinion!
Wilco 944 Posted February 13, 2005 He has shown me up....  Haha  Just messing man, it's good to see other people getting interested in animations, it isn't as hard as it looks, it's the getting used to it part. Man, I should really get working on mine, haha.

Gollum1 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Great work Sanctuary, you're like...the animation master.
sanctuary 19 Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks you everyone for the positive feedback, i am happy if some people enjoy the result of this work but one question is it possible to bring the STAND AIMING postion back to the BASIS one.... with little change that it works smooth with your crouching one. Unfortunately, it is not a little change (i assume for some animator specialist it is a joke ) , as you must notice that the stand aiming use the following interpolations animation -stand to crouch (and vice versa) -stand to prone (and vice versa) -stand reload -stand to binocular (and vice versa) Not easy to keep them smooth with OFPAnim , as it means a lot of frame (as interpolations are made by several static animations) rework if you modify the stand aiming static animation (maybe with some professional program , it should be easier, if you have one). The same if you modifiy the crouch aimaing or the prone aiming , it will lead you to modify a lot of frames of the linked interpolation animations if you want to keep everything smooth. I especially like the care you put into the transitioning, a definate winner in my opinion! Thank you It was the first purpose of this pack , having smooth transition I really liked a lot Dreamy Knight animations , but unfortunately there were too many stuttering when moving from a stance to another. it's good to see other people getting interested in animations, it isn't as hard as it looks, it's the getting used to it part.Man, I should really get working on mine, haha Indeed, OFPAnim , when you read good tutorials is an easy to use program, even for a complete beginner like i was The real difficulty comes later when you want to make interpolations or complex animations, as it can be very long and boring (especially when you need to change a frame , that will lead to a lot more modification of other frames). Making static animation is easy to do with just reading a tutorial for everyone (and i began to learn how to use OFPAnim, when i started this thread , yes really), and with some practices you can make very good looking static animations. So people , begin to read tutorials, it is not as hard as you can imagine. We need more replacement animations pack to have more choices Now go back to making your pack Wilco ! could i have a link to the lastest one 2 many links Just use the link in my signature, the latest version can be found there. The previous version that i overlooked was available just for one hour and has been replaced by the correct version, thanks to Hooahman. Great work Sanctuary, you're like...the animation master. Thank you he he But there are too much rooms for improvement in those animations to be like ... the animation master ---- A general hint if you want to create smooth transition First : create a static stand aiming animation , and starting with it create all the frames you need in the same animation file to move to crouch then to prone Save this file. This way you can create using this animation file as a basis, by cutting un-needed frames, every interpolations animations you will need and every static you will need. And all of this will be totally smooth like this. It takes a very long time (well i am a bit slow when using OFPAnim, so if you are used to it, you should make it rather quickly) but the result worthes it. Dreamy Knight 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Good pack, indeed. I read the news from ofp.info, and downloaded the pack. And surely, I didn't become a shrimp.  I just noticed that somebody talked about Maya and animations, I believe that’s a good idea. I’ve been using OFP Anim, it isn’t a good tool for creating dynamic animations. But I know nothing about Maya, can it create rtm files? Or format conversion? Expect more cool animations from you, Sanctuary, keep it up.
sanctuary 19 Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks guys for the feedback . Good to hear that you liked my pack Dreamy Knight , it is always a pleasure to hear positive feedback from the animation master. Glad you did not became a shrimp . How about making some animations , your previous ones were the new standard for so much people than i am sure lots of folks are hoping new work from you
sputnik monroe 102 Posted February 15, 2005 I just tried your new animation pack Sanctuary. It's very good. Yours definitely have the best transitions I’ve seen. I don’t know if any one has pointed this out yet, but the reload animations are absolutely incredible. I mean they are totally perfect, especially when you watch them from the side. How long does it take you to make an animation, for example the reload ones?       (In case you didn't notice I really like the reload animation   )
sanctuary 19 Posted February 15, 2005 As i am not really a quick guy with OFPAnim, it took me a long time, as when you build your complex (the animated ones, not the static) animation in OFPAnim , some time when you test it ingame you notice some anatomy horror that you need to rework a bit, then you tweak the animation and retest you notice another problem etc..etc.. In fact it is not that hard, it is just long and have potential for headache . Maybe for people very used to animation and to OFPAnim it is easier and quicker, but not for me unfortunately. Edit : i deleted the now obsolete request
olemiss 0 Posted February 16, 2005 tons of people have released their good anims, i'm just glad you've gathered them all up/improved them yourself, for all of us that are far too lazy to unpbo/depbo someone elses scrap anims! Â thanks to all for making flashpoint even greater! also, concentrate your work on DEATH animations. when i was in iraq, i never saw people die like they do in flashpoint, when shot, they just drop like a sack of bricks; no hands out in front to catch them like in the default anim. i'm sure everyone already knows this, though, so it's only a suggestion! sanctuary 19 Posted February 16, 2005 QUICK NOTICE the updated version 1.3 of my pack is not the good one , i sent the wrong one to Hooahman (that is the result when you have a lot of different anim.pbo in different mod folder to test variant of my animations, picking the wrong one is just too easy) The wrong pack actually available in OFP.info has every latest versions of my animations but one , it is totally playable The one animation that is not the latest version is the jog animation : it is an unfinished one where the weapon waves too much and does not stick to the soldier shoulder. After trying the download of OFP.info i noticed my mistake. Sorry for this fiasco, i just sent to Hooahman the latest version, so the fixed version should be available soonâ„¢ when he will have the time. EDIT It is fixed now, thanks to Hooahman
