Nice vest.. I've never seen such a vest before.

Hence I only know Blackhawk, Arktis and brands like that for tactical clothing.

How many magazine pouches does it have? and how many mags can you put in one?

Does it also have room for a hydration pack?

Utti?

is that where the karjala brigade is located?

if so, i have been there biggrin_o.gif (briefly anyway)

Karjala Brigade is quite close to us in Vekarajärvi (also in Valkeala like Utti). Utti Jaeger Regiment and karjala brigade are two separate things.

And about the vest, it's a Finnish "SPol-liivi" (Military Police Vest). It's mainly used to carry handcuffs, radios etc. It has no pouches for rifle magazines (of course you can carry some magazines in the pouches but I reckon it's not designed for it) and one pouch for one pistol clip cos we only use them during peace for guard duty. Second pistol clip is in another pouch on our gadget belt.

Our combat gear includes shrapnel protection vest, TST-vyö "tetsari" (combat belt) and gadget belt with handcuffs, hip holster for 9mm FN pistol + one clip in pouch (some put it on the strap on the holster), flashlight and baton (quite rarely).

One can stuff 8 assault rifle magazines into combat gear smile_o.gif I'll try to get a shot of me with my gear on in near future.

ok..

the reason i saked is that i was in Kouvola in april and while i was there i had a short visit on a regiment, i belive it was Karjala Brigade as they had a lot of different equipment (Pasi, Artillery and some more stuff, seamed to be a quite modern regiment)

i also had dinner there smile_o.gif

i also fired the RK62 (i belive it was) and the Pistol m/08 (is that correct? old FN pistol) and made some simulated combat (blanks and MILES equipment)

i had a lot of fun biggrin_o.gif

I`m aware of smart bombs... I also know that the US military is highly involved in creating smart unmanned robot-vehicles... But that`s the first US "smart mule" I`ve seen so far... rofl.gif

Now seriously: I can tell from my own experience that the german army still uses mules in mountaineering units like the Gebirgsjäger for carrying heavy stuff. Of course they aren`t used in urban warfare for cavalry attacks biggrin_o.gif

That APC almost against the LST in the bottom picture seems to have lost its way. rofl.gif

The shoulder patches on some of these guys are white, light blue and yellow in stead of white, blue and red. What does that mean? Also some of them have the Russian naval jack (white flag with blue X) instead of the Russian flag patch.

Could some one explain what that all means?

Well, them being marines would explain the naval patch. The white, light blue and yellow - I KNOW I've seen it before, but it has me puzzled too. For what it's worth, the text above that flag also says "Russia"

It's Ukraine, I didn't know what it was at first, but for some reason I thought Ukraine.

Ok, I take that back, Ukraine's flag doesn't have the white stripe on top, so I'm not sure.

I can't find it anywhere, my guess would be Air Force, since the Russian Air Forces flag has both of the yellow and blue in it, but this is merely a guess.

I saw something on TV the other day about Northern Ireland with something very similar to that.

Are you talking about the "Thor missile system" IIRC? If so, I saw that too, pretty amazing weapon system.

As someone who is 1/4th Russian and 1/4th Ukranian I can tell you 100% it is not Ukraine's flag - nor would Ukranian soldiers be wearing a patch that says "Russia"
