Finally bothered ot fire up FDF mod and gawk at the FA18 and give it a test flight against every east addon in the game.

Only gripe I have is the flaps and rudders are not animate, and its ver nose heavy, but might be my joysticks calibration being off.

BC666 - Thanks for the support, but I'm kinda used to the

'what about X?' questions. To be fair, I haven't _discouraged_

the questions by saying no, so I do bring it upon myself

slightly.

I will say that I will _never_ do:

A-10, Tornado, Harrier (UK), Typhoon or Hornet

because they already exist in perfectly usable forms already

(well, the Eurofighter will exist soon smile_o.gif ). RAD's F/A-18 in

particular is the _best_ scripted addon I've seen - the sqs is

_very_ good code indeed.

IMO, the main plane that is 'missing' is an F-35. Of course,

finding references and blueprints is hard wink_o.gif, and the 'hover'

scripting can be quite difficult.

Not sure it cause problems with missions made using the aircraft.

class for ease of use in the editor.  I _think_ the addons are

referenced by internal class name in the mission files, but I'd

need to check that.

No, that's FlashFX doing that. Glad it works, but I can't

guarantee it for all addons, obviously.

How about an A-9:

I don't really like doing prototype planes, especially when

there are 'real' planes that still need doing.

Why do the X-32? It was an ugly fat plane that wasn't engineered right from the start. They chose a design that was flawed from the start and did not pay attention to the essential core concepts of engineering an air superority fighter.

I believe Boeing should have not been the leading authority over the X-32's design, that should have been left to McDonald Douglas, the company they bought in 2001/2002. (Sorry bout the spelling)

Personally, Boeing got what they deserved.

No tears lost here about it, RIP X-32 and stay forever dead.

I'm just wondering if the two nosewheels on the A-6 are a little too thin and maybe a little too close together as well, something doesn't look right about them to me. Anyhow, good work, 2 very solid addons, looking forward to your current projects being released.

P.S. I'd like to suggest a Bristol Beaufighter, I'd really like to see a nice WW2 attack plane that uses CoC's torpedoes.

I know it would be very hard to script this, but i think your the man who likes some challange  wink_o.gif

Besides it has all the advantages for OFP, its not to fast - like flying a jet ("small maps").

It doesnt really need a airstrip to land to bring soldiers to their destination.

You can parajump from it and can be used as transporter in general.

And IMO is a really beauty  smile_o.gif

PS: Of course you can do it the easy way and make 2 planes - Heli and Plane.

Yeah, that's the Beast, Whose Name Will Not be Spoken.

But it sure as Hell needs to be done by someone. But I'm thinking the scripting involved might be beyond the capabilities of all but a handfull of model makers. Perhaps a collaborative effort is in order?

Being Pedantic it wasnt a "Fighter" at best it was an missile platform/interceptor.

Besides, as much as i like exotic aircraft whats the point of an M3.2 aircraft in OFP?

I've counted five MV-22s around not including the one I have sitting on the HD. All are in good detail on par with Footmunch level of addon making..

OK - as there's a bit of a "pester Footmunch with requests" theme running, here's my 2-pennorth:

Any chance of a DHC2 Beaver?

No valid OpFP reason - although it's a handy little aircraft to have around, and I enjoyed my flights in NI/ parachute drops in Cyprus - it's just that I want to set up the following:

I'll be in the circuit in the FDF F27, below me there'll be a couple of Scud's SC7 Skyvans and the new DHC2 will be above me. Then I'll be able to make the following transmission, copied from a pilot's forum I subscribe to...

Actually, I don't know how much use it would have, aside from being a first rate recon platform, of course. The model would be great for some killer spy missions, perhaps. And if a crashed model could be made, There's CSAR/TRAP mission possibilities...

that blackbird doenst look familiar to me...

i mean doesnt the sr71 have a nose taht folows the line of the fuselage instead of a round cone??

or is it another version?

The main -22 problem is the old _can't make an animation axis

move_ thing. There _may_ be a proxy/script way round this,

but it's just vague ideas at the moment. Also, getting the AI

to use it would be a bit of a head-scratcher.

About the -35 and -32, I _wasn't_ saying I'd do them, just

that I haven't noticed any threads about them in A&M:D -

there was an old thread about the -35, but it's gone very

quiet, and there was a question about whether the hover

scripting had been 'inherited' from Klink's Harrier, IIRC.

It's the proposed fighter version, I think there was only one, maybe two prototypes made.

I'm working on one aswell in my spare time. It's a CV-22 though.

Not planning on finishing it, but I might release a beta sometime smile_o.gif
