Hunt the intruder - out-flank him

Just finished checking the F-14 out (4 against 6).  Sweet!  They fight the SU-27 nicely, great prox hits with seemingly lower dammage values add suspense (and a chance) to dogfights. The spread of fire on the vulcan may be a bit too much (just my opinion, no experience in this  crazy_o.gif ), but makes those close engagements and ground strafing very nice!

IIRC the pilot and WSO's ejection sequence isn't simultaneous...

IIRC the WSO goes first and then the pilot.

Neph - Thanks for the offer, but I've already seen the error

of my ways. Bad Footmunch. (The NAVY logo is on the engine

body - check Bobcatt's first pic)

Eject - I've been working on some eject scripts for the Falcon.

They will be re-used by the Tomcat. The pilot/guy-in-back

sequence will require some 'timing' issues to be sorted out,

but it should be okay.

Jag: Low-vis Grey, Green/White, Desert Pink

Lightning: Green/Grey, 'Metallic' (if I can get the finish right)

Canberra: Green/Grey, Desert, 'Black'

tried out the f-14 the other day and i liked it, the textures look great i think, the other older f-14 wasn't so good because the textures where to light grey, this one is imo perfect smile_o.gif Footmunch you rule when it comes to making aircraft addons unclesam.gif

one thing:

Isn't the radar under the nose too small?

It's not a radar. It's a long range video camera. They can use this as an additional sensor for passive intercept, or make a positive ID on a target before engaging with BVR AAMs.

But I think Footmunch has to put that Vid Cam on the F14 like on the picture. Looks better I think.

F-14 ! Great!!

- Instead of long range, maybe Phoenix missiles in OFP should have a big indirect hit radius and proximity detonators?

It's a powerful AA missile, that's for sure…

- AI controlled A-6 with napalm will not target and engage infantry...

(I have the latest version)

There are model tweaks going on right now. The sensor under

the nose, and the fins on the top of the fuselage are being

'persuaded' into place.

Expect a 'final' beta next week, along with some other news.

Keller - The -54 is a _powerful_ missile, no doubt, but it's not

used in the WVR environment we have in OFP.

When someone makes a Tu-95 or Tu-160, then I'll do a 'Fleet

Defender' F-14 addon with a Phoenix loadout.

Getting the A-6 to attack _troops_ is a matter of telling the

AI to do it, I'm afraid. Either place the AI under your direct

command, or put a jeep in with the OPFOR. A static East M2

will do, as well.

I've always wanted to see a TU-26M. Totally impractical (it could practically annihilate the island itself with a full load of iron bombs, much like a B-1 or B-52) but still... it's my favorite modern bomber. smile_o.gif

The Vulcan of the F14 shoots explosive ammo, what do I have to do that it shoots normal ammo?

I have a problem with the F-14 , the missiles dont show up leaving the plane like in other planes? Neither do i see them crashing down on the ground if i that is fire them on solid ground without any specific target?

Well, it _should_ fire explosive ammo (API and HEI), but if you

want to change it:

Ace - Not sure what the problem is there:

Are you running 1.96 (TnL)?

Any special mods installed?

Does my Falcon work properly? It has the 'same' missile firing

code as the Tomcat, so this would be an interesting test.

Hmm i just re installed OFP last night.

I have played with the F-16 before and it worked fine along with the F-15.

I'll try again if you want and see if its working normal. The F14s cannon is fine but none of the missiles fire or show leaving the wing pylons they just disappear sad_o.gif

The Ukraine Mod were making a Tu-160 Backfire, the mod's dead but I think I remember reading that the ORCS were taking over some of their work to complete, not sure if this ever came to be, I'm just informing you that there is a possiblility of one being released if you think this would make Phoenixes beneficial to and already great addon.
