Nilz 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Also, if someone could answer to my question (a bit up), then it would be a big relief. Didn't have any problems in the old demo missions, either (with M4, and other weapons). But it is a bit odd, when i put just a Delta or a Ranger in the mission editor and preview, it doesn't show that it is an M4, it shows that it's a 5.56 Semi... strange
Tannethal 0 Posted March 6, 2004 @Nilz: You haven't ever used JAM, haven't you? If answer is yes, you would know that there won't be any specific weapons mentioned as it's all about interchangeable magazines. That there is just "5.56 semi" or "5.56 auto" is a feature not a bug! Besides this dl right now!
Gollum1 0 Posted March 6, 2004 ok I see now. Now I gotta find this JAM stuff :S Check your local food market @uoe Txalo: The Interceptor vest or whatever these guys use is reported to be able to take several 7.62 mm rifle rounds. This combined with HD enemies and skilled De/Ras makes for a pretty realistic death rate.
Nilz 0 Posted March 6, 2004 OK thanks. So that's why the weapon sounded like a FN-FAL? I'm enjoying the units anyways. I am arsed to play the old demo missions through again, they're not using JAM, and i can enjoy good ol' weapon sounds lol Any new demo missions coming up? Ahh... i'm so in love with those units
One 0 Posted March 6, 2004 great update BAS. units look good. ive read some comments about the pack on ur site, and it seems a few people dont like these units cosmetically. im not gonna lie to ya, but the area of the models where the legs attact to the torso looks really odd. idunno what that is? it looks pretty wierd. great textures tho. amazing. ni-mh 0 Posted March 6, 2004 the units look great! but are there plans to update the textures on the weapons? some of them look quite outdated and primitive
ale2999 0 Posted March 6, 2004 the units look great! but are there plans to update the textures on the weapons? some of them look quite outdated and primitive reread the 1st post. Bas ty so much. I know I have said this before but let me say it again: I love you! let me say it in italian too: Vi amo! or french: je t'aime well you get the point. OUTSTANDING JOB, thx for keeping ofp alive. You guys better still be around for ofp 2 ^^
AOCbravo2004 0 Posted March 6, 2004 For those of you that know how to dePBO and PBO files back up and play with the config file I can tell you what is wrong with the M4's with the Aimpoint. I fixed it on my own version, if you need help just send me a PM. George
Lt_Damage 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Texturing looks good, all that is left is stomping on the remaining bugs and then updating the weapons. I will download when all of this has been done otherwise it's just a half-completed addon next to something like the MARPAT's.
cornhelium 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Nice Man, very smooth BAS Rule!
Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted March 7, 2004 From a game play perspective they definitely seem to have a bit more oomph in the assault than any other elite unit addon which is thumbs up from me. Now if only we could get smoke grenades that worked and were deployed as standard w/o scripting. I.e. a unit with an order that started it into the attack sequence. VMF124 Foxtrot 0 Posted March 7, 2004 I have a proplem, certain soldiers in this pack are causing XP to restart . For some of them it does it as soon as I hit preview and others do it when I pull out a pistol. I originally thought it was a JAM issue, but after reinstalling JAM2 it still didn't go away. It happen with both HD and normal. For example the Desert Delta Fire Team Leader HD will do this when I hit preview, and the non-HD one crashes when I try to use a pistol, and does the Operator. Every time it happened I was on the Desert Island, alone, with only the BAS mod folder loaded. This was not an issue with v1.0 pack. Anyone? EDIT: I just tryed flying the new Pavehawk (first time after D/R 1.5 install) and when I got out of my chopper it caused XP to restart again! This is some kind of conflict issue I'm having I bet. I'm gonna try reinstalling all of my bas addons and a few other things, to make sure everything is at the right version.
JGreyNemo 0 Posted March 7, 2004 So for people experiencing problems with the Silenced snipers for these new addons. Â Is this because of the JAM 2 Silenced weapons optics/ironsight problem? This happens to any JAM 2 weapon that is silenced. Â The shot is zeroed to a couple of mm ABOVE the sight. /wonders if JAM 3 will fix this problem. Â I remember hearing some reason about subsonic weapons being modelled accurately to reflect the weapon inaccuracy, but they would have adjusted and zeroed the scope if they consistently rise above the sight like that. Â I think, if you are going to model inaccuracies within silenced weapons I suggest going for the more random approach, I think AKM's VSS is a pretty good way to go. Â You can't actually predict where a shot will go because of the random bullet divergence, so if you shoot one bullet, you can't use the last round as a basis for where the second round will go. Â But if you double tap the mouse to simulate a semi-auto 2 round burst you can pretty much guarantee a kill. Â More like... 2 shots one kill, rather than 1 shot one kill. Â Anyway I like that "Lesser MOA" feature better than I like the JAM Silenced/weapons 4mm above sight "Lesser MOA" feature. Anyway just suggestion, by no means am I critizing the excellent addon that you have bestowed to the slobbering general public for free out of the kindess of your hearts. Thanks BAS!!!! bonko the sane 2 Posted March 7, 2004 Funny how people complain about the SR25 precision, i find it extremely acurate at mid to long range (even more than the M24) , and as it is a scoped weapon it makes sense that it shoots higher at short range. This said, Thank you BAS , the textures and models are great, and the JAM2 compliance makes the assault rifles much better IMO; on a side note, i was a hardcore AK fan, but now those amazing M249's have become my favorite OFP weapon now
dm 9 Posted March 7, 2004 Thanks for the positive vibes peeps, glad you're enjoying it. About the SR-25. The SD version has its scope zeroed at about 400m, as the ammo is sub-sonic, if it was fired on a flat trajectory it would not reach even a few 100m from the weapon, let alone 400+, now OFP compensates for this by making the weapon fire high when you aim short of that distance (so that the bullet drop will mean that it hits dead-center at its zeroed distance) This "feature" is exagerated in the SD version, because it fires sub-sonic ammo, which means it moves slower, takes longer to reach the target, and hence has to be fired up much more than normal. This is what produces the "low" feel to the zero of the scope. Remember, that the SR-25 is not designed as a "close in" weapon, it is meant to compliment the Snipers weapon by providing a rapid (ish) fire weapon, that is accurate at medium to long ranges, with a scope that allows the spotter to spot the targets for the sniper. txalin 2 Posted March 7, 2004 @Gollum1: I supposse it, but what i want to say is that if u shoot to one d/r guy on his face he only will say "I'm hit" and not die, what i'm suggesting (i dont know if this is possible, i'm not addon maker) is making some kind of "zone damage detection" that is: if u recieve one shoot in your face u die, if u recieve one shoot in your chest, u only get hurts...etc. Will be cool if u can make that because, even d/r are one of the best looking units in ofp, that point is not too realisitc, if somebody recieve one shot on his face he must die PD: I dont know if u can understand what im trying to say, my english is not to good

quicksand 0 Posted March 7, 2004 One problem with this pack that is not a bug more like an annoying feature that was from version one.I know that this was just an update for the models and textures but I hope that in a future update you are gonna remove the auto self healing on all units because it`s very annoying. When they do that in a middle of a fire fight they are bassicly waiting to be shot dead..
