It's the tank turret that is ripped from the tank by the explosion.Superb. Now IMO ,that explosion isn't finished yet ,and it can use some change ,but by god it looks to have potential. Go to ofp.info or flashpoint.ru and download them..my heart almost stopped beating when i saw the turret flying off the M1A1...really impressive work ! Has nothing to do with giant spiders imo. Harkonin 0 Posted November 9, 2003 Definitely has potential, the turrets most lkely part of the addon where the original is swapped out for the destroyed version while that turret is created at orign and sent through the air. He'll be contributing to us even more then by joining a JOINT community project which helps improve our OFP experience and show others how to at least co-operate on such stuff , instead of going lone rangers on each other and contradicting each othrs works. I think it's way overdone if it's done every time. But if it can randomly be done a small percentage of the time, I think that would be a good idea that retains realism. As for GMR teaming up with ECP - why not?! It means one mod for everything wiith the best of both combined. No one said that merging the two means dropping GMRs effects. On the contrary! Next is the Caucus crisis explosions, they have a great potential if toned down a bit. After seeing those shots i slapped together a small script of my own here that looks a bit more realistic. What exactly would be wasted by joining mods? I only see gains for all sides. As Goldmember himself said in the other thread, the coding skill of the ecp crew is far superior to his. He could learn a lot. This "improving on his scripts" may be the most important part for a scripter. And both mods do similar things. No point in having two of those incompatible to each other when they could be merged. I think that Goldmembers sees it in a similar way as he is doing the same with dynamic range and inquisitors weapons anyway. And from the many complaints here i gather that he is not fully successful with it. ECP on the other hand have support for DR in their mod, even an improved DR, and it works fantastically. ECP seems to be more MP compatible too. I did not experience anyone crashing because of ECP. But i experienced crashes because of GMR. This can be circumvented by good coding. We get back to point one, Goldmember could learn a lot from the ECP people and make his mod even better. And last, i like ECP better. Mostly because the new DR version. I like how you can turn ANY efffect on or off or tweak their values to your tastes. I like not crashing in MP. I like DR above all, and the new version rocks even more. The bullet whizz effects are awesome too. I just read in the JAM thread a remark about the adrenaline kicking in when the bullets miss you.... well, talk about adrenalin when you hear tank shells flying past you. Give me one good reason why they should not join projects. Otherwise your posting is just bad mouthing ecp, which i think is one of the coolest projects for ofp. Either you have to replace the tank with a "destroyed tank and blown off turret" model (which i guess has to be modeled for each tank separately or it will look the same for all of them) or you would have to make the tanks in two parts (hull and turret) and keep the turret on the tank with scripts (and how good THAT will work in MP we all know... "hey, a see a turret coming down that hill, the tank can't be too far away from it" ). And BTW: any statements about joining forces with ecp. Konyak-2 0 Posted November 9, 2003 Flying turrets is one thing, overdone explosions is obviously a matter of taste. If it's indeed possible, it'd make for some interesting possibilities. Land mine encounters could result in the track blowing off that side of the tank. Speaking of which.. I know this is an exlpodmod, but now we have smoke coming from damaged aircraft at a certain damage level, so I'm thinking.. Tanks are divided up into damage zones, and perhaps this could make it possible for a track to come off while driving, if it has been damaged to a certain extent. victorious 0 Posted November 9, 2003 hey goldmember i think you should enable your fly smoke effect again every time i try to do it i get a cant find gmo\XXXX\etc.... error measage in game, hey did you already put out 1.48 version? all i see is an empty folder i can harly wait to hear how the new dr+inq+blood+messy+smoker config is going to sound along with the tank shells maybe too real, also have you noticed the chopper smoke coming from the exuast on the ecp config you should impliment that it gives more realism to the choppers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
