Placebo 29 Posted January 19, 2004 I have explained in the thread it was posted the issue, find it if you care enough to want an explanation. Also sigs and posts are different things, if people wish to have an odd man in tights in their sig they're more than welcome to, unless a sig breaches certain boundaries of size, taste or offensiveness they're left alone, forum postings on the other hand have to meet a different set of guidelines. SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted January 19, 2004 But I fail to see why Cap'n Hook's main adversary in green tights is more obscene. Pictures on banners displaying women as sex objects is nothing wrong then, oh well....  Well it's had a pretty loaded/amusing history in the ofp forum(s) Seems Mr Peter is doing it for a good cause. Quote[/b] ]1217$ was Raised this year for Kids Charities!!! $1000 was sent to the MAKE A WISH foundation!, and the remaining $217 was sent to a local charity here in Tampa, simply called 'The Children's Home'. This is nearly twice last years total! Every one who donated anything, and even those who helped spread awareness of the web site to others who've donated, should be very happy to know what a wonderful blessing we've helped to create, for some very unfortunate kids. A full financial year end report is available in the donations area. No new Christmas pictures this year I'm afraid, but the ones from last year are posted again HERE to stir some Christmas giggles. Note, I don't blaim anyone for anything, just informing
Blake 0 Posted January 19, 2004 Maybe I'm a total fool but...I have read everything about this Mr.B's banning issue and all the charges yet I still completely fail to see logic in the sig picture policy on these forums...
Placebo 29 Posted January 19, 2004 Pictures on banners displaying women as sex objects is nothing wrong then, oh well.... Â As I said I considered it borderline, if you or anyone else wish to make a formal complaint about finding the sig offensive I will be happy to request to the person posting that it be removed for a less "borderline" image. All PM's sent to me are treated in the strictest of confidence (except when someone says something nice of course, I write those out on the back of an old stamp )

Then I suggest you PM your issues to me and I will be happy to reply, same as I've been happy to reply to all PM's sent to me in the last 24 hours or so, whether positive or negative. Blake 0 Posted January 19, 2004 I just wanted to find about this issue since it indirectly affected the future of FDF Mod forums and this seemed to be some reason for the whole issue, at least superficially. While of course it was Mr.B's choice in the end, but still left me puzzeled what was going on. No offense and I rest my case since there's nothing to be done yet but to find a new host for our forums....
Gadger 0 Posted January 19, 2004 Whether or not he hosts your forums/mod or anybody elses shouldn't make him exempt from the rules, Placebo made a decision, as head moderator that decision should be respected. It's not as if he got the other warnings for nothing is it? He knew he was treading a thin line and only has himself to blame.

Blackdog was banned, you can't talk about it on these forums, stop trying to press your opinion on other people. BTW - You could talk about it on the Nightstalker forums. I certainly won't lock the thread .
Placebo 29 Posted January 19, 2004 m21man is correct I would prefer not to keep dragging over the mud of the issue. One thing I'd like to say is that I am truly sorry for those people who have lost out because of Blackdog's actions, you are the people that have suffered the most and if anyone can help out with hosting themselves or suggest other solutions I'm sure those people who are now without hosting will greatly appreciate it. m21man 0 Posted January 19, 2004 Well, I know that concept404 is hosting two mods (Nightstalker and Conflict on Mindenao), so there might be room for some more .

Harnu 0 Posted January 22, 2004 I was curious if an Archive kind of forum could/would be created. For the best threads of all time, or the largest/most productive. Iraq Thread I, Mid East I, OFP:CP I, Stuntman, and surely some of the other great ones. Not only for refrence, but a nostalgic look back on the forum's greatest moments. There's a Search button for a reason you know No, seriously, there is no point. The database is not getting pruned, so the threads will remain. Once/If BIS decide that the database needs a good pruning, then we will think about it
Gadger 0 Posted January 22, 2004 I think Harnu is referring to creating a new group and all topics with say >20 pages and older than 3 months moved to here. Be nice for us who cant be bothered searching
Badgerboy 0 Posted January 22, 2004 As for the voting for the 'VIP' concerning the mods, does it have to be a current mod? Or can it be for one that was with us for most of 2003, but forced to leave in 'dubious' circumstances?
Ironsight 1 Posted January 22, 2004 How can you upload a picture from your HD in your topic?

Placebo 29 Posted January 22, 2004 How can you upload a picture from your HD in your topic? You can't, you have to upload it to webspace and then using [/img] post the image from the URL.

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted January 26, 2004 hey I found astonishing avatars in a COD forum. unfortunately they contain scenes of Saving Private Ryan...and you actually soldier being hit (and you see blood....hollywood blood). May I post a link or not!
hellfish6 7 Posted January 26, 2004 Do all the avatars contain blood? I think it's OK as long as it's not real.
BraTTy 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Regarding bans, I know blackdog was banned recently,I somewhat know the reason,I did not read the thread and I trust the mods decision. But can't something different be done? I didn't see nothing bad from bd,again it must have happened in a offtopic or area I dont read much, but isn't there someway to keep them in the community,at least the areas they didnt cause problems in. I am concerned because BD and tracy_t is gone and you even banned AvonLady once I know. I didnt see anything bad from tracy_t either. If they are doing it in offtopic and didnt break no laws cant you just ban them from there? Maybe only temp bans unless they actually broke some laws.BD didnt just host sites ,he was active in the modding community with his help and input he was helping addons. tracy_t was developing into quite the addon maker ,helping alot of people too,is he coming back? Have you considered other alternatives? I know its hard and I dont know all of what goes on But there must be other ways
