Morriski 90 Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) Scottish Highlands 1.0 is now available! See bottom of this post for the link to the Steam workshop. Scottish Highlands takes you to North-West Scotland, focusing on the hills and valleys around Loch Eil, only a few miles from the Largest mountain in Scotland, Ben Nevis. This area has an interesting mix of topography. Coastal areas are flat and broken up by villages, tall hedgerows and fields, whilst the less populated inland is mainly large valleys and hills with tight twisting roads, intertwined by dense forests. Roadmap: Full release Scottish Highlands is now at a point where I'm happy to call it a full release. I will still be making small changes here and there, making improvements to the satmap and maybe adding or tweaking a few areas, but as the map stands it is in a fully playable state. BeastHunter 76 Posted August 10, 2020 Hey, I found at least one further house that fits the theme. I think it's perfect for an urban theme. It's part of the Rosche mod. Maybe the creator shares it.
-Joe- 101 Posted August 10, 2020 Weirdly enough, I believe the source files for Rosche itself are available for download via WA Lancer's Google Drive - he might be up for sharing some of the assets, with due credit, as BeastHunter has pointed out.
EO 11274 Posted August 10, 2020 Mmm, tbh not so sure about the Rosche assets, as a Scot I'd have to say the use of Livonia assets look just fine for creating an authentic piece of Scottish terrain.
Thumperdevine 143 Posted August 10, 2020 Agreed. Mind you, until someone does a pebble-dashed council house model, Rural Scotland is never going to look exactly right in Arma. 3 🙂 1 hour ago, EO said: Mmm, tbh not so sure about the Rosche assets, as a Scot I'd have to say the use of Livonia assets look just fine for creating an authentic piece of Scottish terrain.

This asset is nice, but red brick buildings are actually quite hard to come by in Scotland, most buildings are either either grey, white or wood. If there's any other suitable buildings from Rosche I'll talk to the creator about using them

Thumperdevine 143 Posted August 11, 2020 That second pic is pretty good. Really close in look and vibe to what you tend to get. The Mull of Kintyre map has some really nicely done little council estates in it - not sure where the assets are from. Of course, this is a mostly rural map, and as others have said, there are quite a few buildings in the game and DLC which really aren't far off for that. EDIT: Just realised those are the same buildings. Lol.

EO 11274 Posted August 25, 2020 Haha, if only some of the inventory items had hidden selections I would surely make that happen, I can, however, change the name of the mosquitoes in my animal module mod just because i can.
mcnools 62 Posted August 28, 2020 Looks very good. Love the ditches etc. Details like that really improve a map, not only visually but gameplay-wise. Looking forward to it! 1
