Well, at first when I got OFP I played as TheGunslinger (from Stephen King's Dark Tower books). But then everyone thought I was the guy who made the editor addon, so I changed to Tovarish ("Comrade" in Russian). I've had more nicks than I can probably remember, heck even in RL Russians call me one thing, Cubans call me another, and even most of my Canadian friends don't know my full last name, just because it's long, redundant and I shorten it up except on official doccuments . DarkLight 0 Posted November 12, 2002 DarkLight, no idea why i use it, i think it's a pretty cool name... I used to have a lot of names while playing DF2... ´[*çäńd˙mŕŃ*]`, me+weeD, barracudA, cudA, white raveN, sometimes DarkLight, etc. ~Say farewell to the sunshine, now the darkness comes~

iNeo 0 Posted November 12, 2002 I started using 'Neo' for OFP alittle more than a year ago... Neo was taken on this forum so I added an i to the beginning, to copy 'iPaq' (Compaq), 'iDrive' (BMW), 'iFeel' (Logitech), etc. Also play with the name 'Nightstalker'. KingBeast 0 Posted November 12, 2002 "Originally Rob the Beast, i eventually decided I was indeed the King of Beasts, therefore KingBeast. People that know me online usually call me Wingy or Wingeh. Derived from KingBeast > Kingy Wingy > Wingy/Wingeh I feel KingBeast is particularly unique and I have seen only one person on the internet to share the name that I know of. I think in the future, i will probably stick with Wingy or Wingeh." -- KingBeast Source: The Life and times of a Beast, Chapter

NavyEEL 0 Posted November 12, 2002 Grandad gave me this nickname. He's a retired 3-star, spent 35 years in the Army, three tours in Vietnam, etc... real Army buff. He gave me this nickname for going to the Naval Academy to be a SEAL. I said in the email "well i usually dont reply to you army flyboys but i guess since you're my grandad its ok" and he replied "well now that we've established that navy eels and army eaglets are ok, i guess we should communicate more often" and the name has stuck ever since. Jester983 0 Posted November 12, 2002 Well i got my when i was play a game called Nox. I needed a account name and i was going to take al gore (this was in the time of the al gore vs clinton election) but that was taken. Then my friend was getting bored and urging me to hurry up. So i said give me some ideas. So he mentioned Jester. I tried that but that too was taken. Then out of no where i came up with the numbers 9 8 3. Thus i became Jester983. Balschoiw 0 Posted November 13, 2002 basically I searched for a russian name, but was in a great hurry So I chose Balschoiw. it makes no sense at all and people often misspell it or get it totally wrong : "Are you a russian theater?" "Hi ! Blaschow" "Balso" or whatever...people really made me mad with that Within the clan and for friends I am "Bals" -> similar to -> "balls" but that is in no way my intention
Othin 0 Posted November 13, 2002 I read the Hammer and Cross Trilogy by Harry Harrison and it tweaked my interest in Northern mythology. I read all the books I could find about it. Reading about it was really cool for me because in high school all they taught was Greek and Roman mythology, and this was a totally different outlook on life. Anyways I ended up choosing this for a callsign in a text only Wing Commander game that I played.
Lobanak 0 Posted November 23, 2002 hmm... found that threat and think I also put some Info in. Lobanak comes from a mail-account I created some time. The name was kanabol (so lobanak is backward). Kanabol is something fly in my head as I thought about THC (c = canabinol or something like that). So only changed "c" to "k" and deleted "in". My other Nick on other boards is "Kuffnuk". That comes from "AvK" from a chat room. The full name was not possible. "Attila van Kuffnuk". Attila was born from @ (= at), so I searched a name where I can use the @, so first @tila (=Attila). "van" was nice to hear between names so I used it. "Kuffnuk" is a word that my friends and me some years ago have found. But don't know the real meaning right now. So I used this also. Some from [CiA] said that Lobanak is better the Kuffnuk, so I now only use Lobanak when playing online.
