If you do, it would use the better animations. Otherwise, it will fall back to the defaults that you see in the video above. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

However, it can't be embedded into a mission or be server side only. That's the downside. Clients would need an addon installed to use it. duda123 1341 Posted July 8, 2016 Jeza - great video! Thanks to mcrupert we have some awesome looking animations in the works! Will make weapon switching work much better as well. These addons will come packaged with the addon. If you're playing in SP they will be used by default. In MP, you will use the vanilla arma animations unless you also have the addon installed locally. The addon is still optional for for clients, but will look much better if you have it installed. Also working on adding in some optional rappel sound as well. Both the models and sounds will also be added to the heli rappelling eventually. Finally, the first release will contain AI rappelling, meaning you can order your AI squad to rappel with you. 23 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ceeeb 147 Posted July 8, 2016 If you are making custom animations, the hand controlling the rope (which must be the left hand if holding a weapon in right hand) should be below the descender, not above as shown in the picture. The further below/around your body the controlling hand is, the more friction and the slower you go. To allow two hand firing, the rope must be locked off, which takes both hands and some time to do (the rope is either wrapped around legs, or tied off over the descender). Auto-locking descenders are reliable and could be used instead, but I've not seen any videos of military using them. Will this become compatible with Exile in the future? They already have rope in the game, and i think they may already be using your advanced tow system with the ropes as well.
