DynaSound - A sound mod by LAxemann (Release)

Yo!

 

Today I've been able to fix an issue with my framework which prevented me from doing pretty much anything.

The new sound configuration enables quite some cool stuff, here is a random "feature" DynaSound 2.0 will have:

 

Gunshots fired from inside a building are heard not even half as far as if the gun was fired in the open. Now combine this with a silencer and snipers or people who prep. an ambush have an actual reason to fire out of a building. :)

This will be an RHS feature, too.

Nope, this just means they changed some sounds. The issue I was talking about is already fixed in dev branch though, so it's just a matter of time till it hits stable. In the meantime I'm doing the sounds for DynaSound and RHS on Dev.

Sounds amazing Laxemann. Looking forward to seeing this fully (or hell, even partially) implemented in RHS. BIS did one helluva job overhauling the audio, cant wait to see sound modders take full advantage of the new features.

Bullshit man, XAudio2 is bad, your mod would sound so much better on a REAL SOUND ENGINE like FMOD.

You do know Laxemann did RHS's sounds right? He is their sound guy. Or are you asking has he made any new changes to it? If so-this is the wrong thread for discussing RHS.

Yo folks,

 

I didnt work on DynaSound and/or RHS in the last two weeks due to studies and work, but I'll have more time beginning next week.

 

Since the new engine update made most scripted stuff obsolete, there won't be a script framework release per se.

However, I now plan to provide a config framework for weapons as well as the weapon tail samples for all sorts of weapons. This should take a shitload of work away from weapon creators.

 

Also, I'm visiting megagoth again this weekend. Awesomness ensues.

They sound excellent Lax.

 

I must say this and LES is one of the most anticipated mods (for me at least) in recent memory. I check this forum post just about everyday awaiting the next release. Not really since CUP Terrains or ACE before that have I been looking forward to a mod so much.
