Show Off The RV4 Engine!

Basically, post things here, that shine the most in terms of the RV4 Engine. What impresses you the most about this Engine?

Here is a photo of wild life actually be used to it's semi-full potential in Ultra Graphics. Barley an FPS hit on my end.

Wow that looks great, how'd you get them to flock like that? I think the new lighting is one of my favorite features, hard to get right but once its correct it looks amazing.

That detail, that polygons, looks great indeed, though won't be easy to run it on a single core.

Lighting is best thing in arma 3 :) love it

Zeus, and Animal effects. I place Seagulls in various spots on the coast in large numbers, and took a screen shot. I have a low end CPU, but on my custom settings (some things high and some things Ultra), the seagulls in that floc barley had an FPS hit.

I agree, lighting is the best feature. Lighting sets the mood for every situation in Arma.

Not quite, it's not dedicated thread for Photo's. It's supposed to be an area where people can show off, or share experiences of things that the RV4 Engine does best. That could be media, photos, narrative. I'd like to show a few more things but i've actually been busy lately, only leaving me brief moments to test stuff.

And what is so interesting about those pics, it looks more worse than we have now, a powdery terrain

This is actually something i noticed. Turn the setting under CMAA in Video settings to Ultra, this fixes the terrain looking like blurry filter.

Definitely the lighting. Few other games have proper lighting for things like lightning.

The lighting makes some seens amazingly beautiful http://i.imgur.com/U7zCIz3.png . I can't believe we have this huge map, amazing TOD/weather all for just this one game. It's amazing.

Add to that the amazing volumetric fog http://i.imgur.com/oczjT7m.png, which looks great on smoke grenades too http://i.imgur.com/5AxGYj9.png, http://i.imgur.com/O6rSVm3.png

But in the end it's not the graphics that make Arma my no.1 game. It's the realism, the multi-platform combat. Moments like these http://i.imgur.com/3Br4wcC.png

Does anyone know if they are gonna fix the light going through the walls of buildings. I know they were talking about fixing it in their Dayz standalone i am wondering if its gonna be implemented into ARMA 3. But i will agree that lighting in ARMA 3 is really good especially when you load old ARMA 2 map and it transforms it into ARMA 3.

Awesome. I used that object database on Armaholic more than I thought I would. Glad there will be one for ArmA III as well!

Really nice idea. I always wanted to compare Arma 2 to Arma 3 in a way that shows how much detail Arma 3 has compared to Arma 2, etc.
