well today and yesterday i have tidied up the missilebox a LOT.

started experimenting with the new submunitions to see if we can improve performance on the clusterbombs and clustermines

i've standardised the generic sounds in the planes for all aircraft, so no more gear down or tyres sound duplication across every plane. this should help as we harmonise sounds going forward - so we only have to tweak one file / volume etc

i have already worked through all of the cannons so they work properly with correct tracer, shelldrop and muzzle fx.

I also realigned most of the pilot proxies so they look throug hthe target reticle properly, or close enough for the bravo release anyway.

next i remade the A4 skyhawks loadouts, adding a MR (rearmable multi-role) class for the C model, and removing any rack-based missiles, as these should be on one solo pylon for this era.

i've made use of the new mk81 snakeyes that wld427 donated to us.

i've done the same for the A6 including rationalising down about 1000 lines of duped turret code, and checked the A1.

The skymaster has been revamped so it has working double tracers, shelldrop fx and muzzle gas clouds on its suu11a gunpods.  I also replaced the WP rockets so they dont cause server lag

i also remade some icons that weren't showing up too well.

 

so next up is the A7, F100, F105 and F111... then the rearm module so each plane can be dynamically rearmed.

 

then it's nva patrol boats, BTR40s, hueys, bikes and static weapons.

 

plus details like mirrors and lights not working properly.

 

also currently most of the sounds are broken.

 

so i'm afraid it won't be released for another 2-3 weeks, possibly longer.

 

we have so much more kit to port:

9 islands

5 tanks

Ontos

20+ bunkers

traps

radio module

opfor planes - mig21, mig19, new mig17

aplion's F4

ch46, ch47, ch53, ch54

ch47 guns-agogo

slicks, kiowas, cayuse, bird dog

C123, AC119/130 spectre

fleet of US trucks

vietnamese animals

sharks and snakes

artillery

etc

 

we really need more help from people who can port models.  configs, scripts, sounds and textures we have covered.  just need more competent modeling / model porting capacity.

ok so all planes rearmed and missilebox checked and error-free

sav has completed the weapon sounds and they are great

F4 phantom, f100 super saber, A6 intruder, E2 hawkeye, A4 skyhawk, f105 thud, Mig 21 just to name a few :P the others I can't remember now .. :wacko:. Only a few will make it into the next release the others as we progress

Wow! With crates like that missions makers have no excuse; CAS, resupply and/or Air America...

Be still my beating heart. You guys know how to make my day! I don't care how long it takes, when it inevitably arrives this list of planes is going to be top notch. Great stuff everyone!
