skruis 180 Posted May 20, 2015 Hey, just wondering if there's a way for the spectating players to hear the live players if they're in proximity to them (whisper, normal, yelling)?Currently no... Is it on the radar?

linuxmaster9 101 Posted May 24, 2015 Basically, if I add TFAR to Wasteland mission, would it work right? Or would I run into issues? Also, is it possible to have faction specific freqs? Preferably in a random selection method at the start of the mission? This way, since Wasteland traditionally has 3 factions, it is harder to have spies who log into the server and already know the base freq each faction is using. When the server restarts and the mission continues, the base channel for all the radios on a particular side are scrambled to a random freq (the same freq on all radios). Kind of like scrambling the transmission. It would be pretty cheap if the enemy faction knew what the channel and freq was by default without killing someone first and taking their radio. But then again, after server restart, the radio would be changed to their faction and the settings wiped or something. If someone dies, can I set it so that their radio despawns after they respawn? Or after a set time? When they respawn are they issued a new radio and radio ID? When the radio despawns, is the ID put back into circulation? Can I set it up in TFAR so that when they join the server, it automatically joins them to the correct TS3 server and channel?

Yes, each mission run freq are random. By default side radio in encrypted, so to listen enemy it is required to hae theirs radio. You could remove radio from dead by SQF scripting. Respawn gives new radio ID. Same maybe be user to force user to join TS (you could check plugin, TS server and channel via SQF API).
MaddyLongshaft 10 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) Hey hey. So TFAR has suddenly decided it doesn't like me. Last monday I hopped on my groups' server to play some pretend army men and this popped up: LOOKS LIKE TASK FORCE RADIO ADDON NOT ENABLED OR VERSION LESS THAN 0.8.1 Basically it goes like this: I join the server fine, I get pulled down into the TFAR channel, I hear the "boopidy beep" of TFAR initialising and the plugin all looks good from the TS side of things - but I cannot access radios and can't transmit on them. The version I'm running is 0.97 for what it's worth, and it appears in the Arma 3 Expansions menu screen as being enabled and such and such. If I hop into editor and mess around, I can access radios just fine, pull them up and change channels, transmit, etc. - albiet with no radio sounds, which may be a sign? - but not on my group's mp server. I am the only one having this issue as far as I'm aware. I've tried the following: Reinstalling TFAR Reinstalling CBA_A3 Reinstalling TS3 Making sure everything is running as administrator Creating a new Arma profile Checked RPT and everything seems fine - mod is initialising and seems all good. I'm kind of at a loss other than reinstalling the game or formatting my computer which, while not a huge problem, is an annoyance I'd rather not go through unless necessary. Any ideas? Cheers in advance. Edited May 26, 2015 by MaddyLongshaft

MaddyLongshaft 10 Posted May 25, 2015 recently we also had some people with that problem.they forgot to move the userconfig from the modfolder to the arma folder. moving it there solved it. The only files showing in the userconfig folder in the Arma 3 folder are radio_keys.hpp and radio_settings.hpp - assuming there's nothing else missing, they were both put in there when I reinstalled TFAR the other day. b.a.verrecus 16 Posted May 25, 2015 are they both just in the userconfig folder, or are they in a folder called "task_force_radio", which is in the userconfig folder?
654wak654 25 Posted May 25, 2015 Also you don't shouldn't have the radio_keys.hpp, that's an old file used before TFAR switched to CBA keybindings. Maybe your userconfig folder is of an outdated version?

MaddyLongshaft 10 Posted May 26, 2015 Update Just got done reinstalling Arma 3 and our 20gb of mods and TS3 again on a different hard drive after uninstalling/deleting everything I could find (unless there's some TFAR registry or config files hidden in appdata or something?), issue still persisting. Got some more information though. After some further messing around I've discovered that the issue is sort of split - when it comes to short range radio, I can't do anything - can't transmit, can't hear (I don't think), can't bring the radio up and configure, can't change channels with the numpad - but with the LR radio I can bring the radio up and configure it, I can transmit and I can hear (albiet with no radio squelches or beeps). It also seems to mess with my TS after I disconnect from the server. It'll sort of lock up for 30~ seconds, then crash out of the TS server (albiet not the program). This is weird... driftingnitro 38 Posted May 26, 2015 How do you change a units radio frequency in an SQF? I'm trying to make a script that sets a loadout but it also is supposed to set the frequencies automatically even on respawn. Even after I try setting the radio to active it still doesn't change the frequencies.
Variable 322 Posted May 28, 2015 If a guy that is outside of the game joins the TaskForceRadio channel he hears all teams talking, I guess that's a bug and he should hear only the dead guys? In any case, it would be better if it will be like that.
audiocustoms 375 Posted May 28, 2015 Game not running means also TFAR not active. So it is kinda obvious that there is no differentiation between dead or alive player. Why would anybody join a crowded TFAR game chanel anyway? Absolutely no need for differentation without a game running, total nonsens...
CNTO 10 Posted May 30, 2015 You get the position simulation from data within the game. If you're not in the game how could you know who's dead and who's alive? It's not a bug, it is what it is. Cheers, BullHorn.

rekkless 240 Posted June 2, 2015 You may remember from a few page ago I was asking about a bug where as TFAR was initializing it would change players names in Teamspeak to 'any' and give an error in teamspeak saying the name was already taken. Well I figured out what was causing it. It is a conflict with TFAR and Zeus. TFAR initializes before the player spawns and doesn't seem to know which player to give the permissions (or whatever you would call it) to since there isn't a player on the map. So it has a fit and changes the players name to 'any'
darkking810 19 Posted June 2, 2015 If its possible developer of this mod can you make it so this is not a standard load out. When im doing campaign missions or player made campaign missions it gives it to me as a standard load out so is it possible to fix that? Reason I'm asking for a fix for this is cause I get this error when im playing the Campaign M.E.R.C.S or other scenario's made by player's hlc_rifle_SLRchopmod with scope=private or something else along those lines when I disabled it I didn't get it anymore, but another reason why im also asking for the fix and not just removing it completely is cause I get the annoying pop up that it is needed for a certain unit im using time to time so that is why I cant just simply turn it off and not use it. x.x
