columdrum 11 Posted June 7, 2012 Really nice! the marker bugs where there for years. Btw what's that StringLoad command? i suppose that it means all string loading commands, but i thought that it was already suported (i have a lot of sqfs on UTF-8) :S
cm. 10 Posted June 7, 2012 OMG! Marker bug fixed! A new era in arma.... you can now call it Arma 2.5. Any stability improvements? Is it worth updating our servers?
kremator 1065 Posted June 7, 2012 These are great changes! Many thanks BIS. I hope you guys not allowed to go to E3 aren't feeling too bad. Looking on the bright side WE appreciate what you are releasing for us!
MavericK96 0 Posted June 7, 2012 I'm not a big fan of DayZ but damn, love the newfound attention my beloved ArmA 2 is getting these days because of it. :D
kremator 1065 Posted June 7, 2012 Hmmmm I'm having some wierd issues associated with some models with this beta. I deleted my arma2.cfg file prior to the test. For instance a chinook approached me, but stayed in a low LOD as it got closer. Even when I was next to it, it was in that low LOD. I'm also seeing trees/bushes switching quite fast when you zoom in. Perhaps either delay the zoom or make that LOD switch instantaneous. Surely if the trees/bushes were in memory this should happen immediately? For info I'm running a Core i7 920@3.85GHz, 12Gb RAM, GTX570. Anyone else see the same things ?
-=seany=- 5 Posted June 7, 2012 Was there ever any investigation into drops in performance while zooming in/out due to the new LOD swapping changes? Thanks for the new beta, some nice changes there.
zimms 22 Posted June 7, 2012 So many awesome changes! I guess with the new option to remove global chat channels, this was a necessity: [93542] New: MP Statistics screen (key I) contains the Server hostname :D "what server is this?" "who's shooting in cherno?"
Dwarden 1125 Posted June 7, 2012 about the LODs read under the changelog in first post :)

KeyCat 131 Posted June 8, 2012 Hopefully the performance issues will be fixed too. ??? I actually gained a couple FPS with this particular build... Only had limited testing so far but no LOD issues here, will test more later tonight. System: - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.40 GHz - 4 GB RAM @ 1066 MHz - nVidia GTX 260 896 MB (Driver: 191.07 WHQL) - Windows XP Pro Command line parameters: -mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -profiles=d:\games\ARMAII~1\ -maxmem=2047 -bepath=client1 -name=KeyCat Using: A2(DVD)+OA(DVD)+BAF(Sprocket)+PMC(Sprocket) /KC
maddogx 13 Posted June 8, 2012 Note that Suma said on Dev Heaven that this build should be considered "broken" in the LOD department. We'll have to wait for the next beta for the proper fix. Hopefully today. :D

But as MadDog said this beta is broken, so... yeah...
Jastreb 69 Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) Yep this one was bad one. Its rolled back on SU. Examples below. http://i.imgur.com/uM7TF.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HEYS9.jpg That and seeing head trough helmets, and berets. Only shift '-' flush could fix it but just until next swithc of screens ( enter/exit vehicle, switch from 1p/3p and v.v. ) even for a moment. I have dual core too and seems to me I got slight fps gain too, but a bit higher vram usage. Edited June 8, 2012 by _MaSSive
NeuroFunker 11 Posted June 9, 2012 I have LOD problems with this, models stay low polygoned/white textures and stuff, was all fine with previous beta patch.
