Dwarden 1125 Posted January 16, 2012 FXAASharp=0; disabled (0) by default, quality levels range from 1 to 6, where 6 means most sharpen filter

jedra 11 Posted January 16, 2012 Wow! That sharp filter is pretty amazing! Doesn't seem to hit performance either (completely unscientific comment based on ten minutes looking at the screen in awe!!).
RSF TheCapulet 59 Posted January 16, 2012 Anyone want to post up comparison screenshots?
Zirkle 10 Posted January 16, 2012 Here's the comparison on my end. I don't have any noticeable FPS loss, FRAPS reports just a few different. Click With/Without for full resolution. Without FXAASharp With Full FXAASharp

RSF TheCapulet 59 Posted January 16, 2012 Here's a few of my own. According to fraps, no FPS difference. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Apache1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Apache2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Cockpit1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Cockpit2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Jackal1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Jackal2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/LittleBird1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Littlebird2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/SomeWall1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Somewall2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Tusk1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Tusk2.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Warrior1.png http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x9/CurnelD/Warrior2.png For me, the most apparent improvements are in the "some wall" pics and the Jackal pics. metalcraze 290 Posted January 17, 2012 Better add SMAA support since it's vastly superior to FXAA
Colossus 2 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Not sure how the effect is scaled, but I don't really see much of a difference between 1 or 6. I assume it's gradually sharper, but it seems extremely sharp already from FXAASharp=1;. I might be seeing wrong (though I did take pictures to compare), unoptimized combination of settings or there's something wrong with my GFX card. More investigation needed, I guess. :p FXAA 0 (disabled) FXAA 1 FXAA 3 FXAA 6 Just to weed out any false mental interpretations based on the numbering, I've arranged the numbering wrong. FXAA 1 is actually setting 3, FXAA 3 is 6, FXAA 6 is 1. Hope it worked :D So, is there much visual difference? Edited January 17, 2012 by colossus

OMAC 254 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) With FSAA=2, FXAA=2, and FXAASharp=2 with AToC=7, my jaw has dropped into my lap. Holy SHIT does A2 CO look good with no major performance hit. Excuse my French. Best I've ever seen it, and that's saying a lot. It makes me wonder how we got along without FXAASharp all these years. (;)) Righteous!!!!!!!!!!! -------------------------------------- Edit: The only thing I've seen that doesn't look so good with the sharpening is distant vehicles and flames when viewed through thermal optics, such as available to a tank gunner or commander. CameronMcDonald 146 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Screenies: No FXAA or FXAASharp FXAA=17; FXAASharp=6 3rd party injector (post-sharpen only, no FXAA) I reckon you could still crank the strength on the integrated sharpen filter though. Perhaps go up to 10 or so. Edited January 17, 2012 by CameronMcDonald Read-only cfg!
