Droikka 1 Posted November 21, 2011 Why am I getting "Connection Failed" and all servers have red crosses on them so I can't join anything with this beta? Steam version, running the _runACO_beta.cmd file.
metalcraze 290 Posted November 21, 2011 It's 1.60 beta The majority of servers are still 1.59 You need 1.60 beta server to connect to obviously
Droikka 1 Posted November 21, 2011 It's 1.60 betaThe majority of servers are still 1.59 You need 1.60 beta server to connect to obviously I noticed that, it's just that some people on WASP server are playing with this beta. And also the beta patch is usually compatible with other versions.
metalcraze 290 Posted November 21, 2011 Beta patches are only compatible with one possible major version. Up until 86xxx all betas were 1.
das attorney 858 Posted November 21, 2011 Couple of links you may not have had the time to check during this beta: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/day_off http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/holiday Thought about posting them up on the CIT, but couldn't make a suitable repro! (Thanks for the continued work) :)

das attorney 858 Posted November 22, 2011 Weird graphics issue I've experienced whilst running the latest beta's NEL8BT7lweo Is it worth getting CIT* on it's arse? * = medieval
Alex72 1 Posted November 22, 2011 Weird graphics issue I've experienced whilst running the latest beta'sIs it worth getting CIT* on it's arse? * = medieval I always had a similar bug. No one else ever noticed from for example flying a heli and looking around that the whole heli disapears at times? Other things also disapear when looking from certain angles etc. Ive become used to it although it bugs me when i do think about it. I guess whats seen in the video i havent noticed (or thaught of) so it might be introduced in the beta's as you say.
Smurf 12 Posted November 22, 2011 Weird graphics issue I've experienced whilst running the latest beta's[YOUTUBE]NEL8BT7lweo[YOUTUBE] Is it worth getting CIT* on it's arse? * = medieval This kind of thing has been going since OFP, but with shadows (IIRC, theres a ticket for that). Never noticed it with any type of object. Strange. Houdini box...
SnR 1 Posted November 22, 2011 [86484] Improved: Dedicated server console now supporting Unicode and long output (using Rich Edit Control). What will this extra support and output do ?
f2k sel 164 Posted November 22, 2011 Weird graphics issue I've experienced whilst running the latest beta'sIs it worth getting CIT* on it's arse? * = medieval It's also in Arma2 1.10. One map object that's quite bad are the large open gates. One thing I noticed is that one type of box doesn't have this problem, even the shadow remains when the object is well out of view. I guess it's a trade off between graphics and FPS.
OMAC 254 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) It's also in Arma2 1.10. One map object that's quite bad are the large open gates. I too have witnessed the large metal gates appear/disappear many times, like in Trial by Fire on Utes. If the problem is present pre-1.60 beta (which I think it is), I'd forget about it for now, at least until after 1.60 comes out (unless Dwarden and Suma feel differently, or unless there already is a ticket(s) on this - I haven't checked). It's most likely a problem with the particular models themselves, right? About other things disappearing, using 86476, I made a mission using one of the scripted A2 My Missions templates (Destroy Target), and placed the mission on the BAF Desert map. At start, you are in a quonset hut-shaped tent with a heater/AC unit attached, with a table and a laptop in it. The walls of the tent are invisible on the Desert Map unless you go to scope and zoom in. Even if you leave the tent, it is invisible. Other structures (like the comm trailer at the first outpost) are also completely invisible unless in zoomed view. If you place the mission on the Chernarus map, the tent is not invisible - all is normal. The problem exists in 1.59 vanilla/A2 1.10 as well. If you guys like we can start a ticket for multiple disappearing models/textures after 1.60 comes out. _______ Edit: The tent and other structures are invisible when un-zoomed on the Shapur, Desert, and Proving Grounds maps. In other words, the RNF (PMC and BAF) maps. On all other maps, they appear normal. I think it's because the mission template doesn't include objective/object placements for those maps. No big deal, but perhaps the RNF maps shouldn't be included on the list of maps into which one can place the template-based missions. Rough Knight 9 Posted November 22, 2011 In a campign I am building I have noticed the Land_destroyer and land_fregeta dissappear at a particular height. I am not sure if this is on the same lines as to the above discussion or related to view distance. My view distance however is 4.5km so idoubt whether I am that hight when the objects dissappear. msy 22 Posted November 22, 2011 Oh, BF3 has updated today, if ARMA2 updates to full patch in this week, I will spend all my weekend for ARMA2 instead of BF3... Can't wait for the full patch, no matter how many bugs exist yet.

sickboy 13 Posted November 22, 2011 Good point and thanks for the link, this is sometimes very annoying to see. Hope it will/can be fixed. Best to achieve that is get attention + votes for the ticket at BIF/etc, but more importantly clear and specific details, repro steps, mission etc.
