Beagle 684 Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Now THAT is a good fix. No more courts-martial needed !What about captured vehicles with enemy player inside? (happens frequently in MP) Edited November 15, 2011 by Beagle
sickboy 13 Posted November 15, 2011 What about captured vehicles with enemy player inside? (happens freqently in MP)Vehicles have no side definitions in config (just vehicleClass + faction, both not determining friend/enemy), the side of the commanding unit should be the determining factor. But always good to verify if changes have no unwanted effects :P
On_Sabbatical 11 Posted November 15, 2011 Now for example if i click on friendly unit by mistake ,gunner won't shoot ? IF yes, then it is an awesome fix otherwise it's a great fix :D
andersson 285 Posted November 15, 2011 I did a test when I got arma2 and had a russian AI enemy driving UAZ, HMMWV and a civilian car the same road towards me and my group. I then waited for the AI in my group to call out enemy. UAZ: they called out enemy straight away when they say the car. HMMWV: the enemy AI could drive much closer before my group reacted and started to shoot. Civilian car: the same result as HMMWV. So if you know that there is an enemy in a friendly car but your group AI dont, cant you no longer order them to shoot it? Sorry, I cant test this myself.. -=seany=- 5 Posted November 15, 2011 [86296] Changed: AI gunner is no longer firing at friendly units when ordered to target them. Wow, this pissed me off the first day I played Arma1 demo lol Only took a few years, thanks! Maybe we can have the rest of the Target system back to the way it was in OFP? :P
metalcraze 290 Posted November 15, 2011 First of all there should be no TAB-locking onto infantry at all Tanks and helis can still be excused as an "abstraction" for locking on their heat signatures if TAB-locking absolutely needs to remain
That guy 10 Posted November 15, 2011 YES! i cant say how many times i was TCing a vehicle and needed a better view, zoomed only to lock on to a friendly or civilian and my gunner to imminently waste them with glee. its also funny how they were usually quicker to commit fratricide than to say, shoot at the enemy! A FANTASTIC FIX! you cant see it, but i am dancing a little. in my head
jakerod 254 Posted November 16, 2011 We were all in a back of a C-130 one time and another player accidentally ordered his humvee with a .50 to target the plane. Shots went straight through the back door and up the one side of the cargo seats and took out about 10 of us. Happy to see this fixed.
