chortles 263 Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks for the link to Yak-130 loadouts*, there already is a Buzzard with an AA loadout... it simply trades the two ATGMs (outboard) and two GBU-12s (inboard) for four Zephyr "LRange" missiles (midboard and outboard pylons), both AA and CAS loadouts have two ASRAAM "SRange" missiles (inboard on AA, midboard on CAS) and the non-removable, centerline under-fuselage 20 mm gun pod with 300 rounds and 120 flares (five bursts of twenty-four flares each). * Not sure how the Yak-131 really differed from what you linked... maybe that's part of why the Russian Air Force turned it down (underlying "insufficient protection for pilot"). chortles 263 Posted October 9, 2013 A higher-res, clearer take on the CSAT CAS jet concept render, the new marksman rifle and the new long gun optic: http://i.imgur.com/pRP8FcA.jpg (151 kB) Requesting Close Air Support! At Firstlook 2013 in The Netherlands we showed a few concept artworks for upcoming free content for Arma 3. Besides the new CSAT marksman rifle and two heavy sidearms, here is a concept render of the CSAT CAS aircraft. This model was made entirely from scratch, including its interior. Keep in mind the texturing may change; we usually create base materials and a plain skin before applying faction-specific camouflage. This jet and its new BLUFOR counterpart will be patched into the game with a future update - when they are ready to scramble.
purepassion 22 Posted October 9, 2013 So now we can mount scopes on scopes?
dunedain 48 Posted October 9, 2013 I wish not, considering the pain in the ass it is to make different optics mods work at the same time, I hope they keep it "simple". :o
maddogx 13 Posted October 9, 2013 So now we can mount scopes on scopes? - insert obligatory xzibit.jpg - ;) Looks like a normal backup red dot to me though. :) Considering the pain in the ass it is to make different optics mods work at the same time, I hope they keep it "simple". :o Have you seen the recent dev build changes on this subject? I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
goldenfiver 11 Posted October 9, 2013 From the newest sitreplet me translate that -the VS-121 marksman rifle with DMS marksman optic , FNP45 tactical with MRD optic and the Rhino revolver with Burris optic. :icon_twisted: Hmm.. Does this mean the MRD optic will be detachable?, are optics coming to all pistols?
roberthammer 582 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) Hmm.. Does this mean the MRD optic will be detachable? Yes > http://i.imgur.com/O18s1egh.jpg are optics coming to all pistols? Well not sure about that , because most of pistols dont have top rails for red dot optics but the TLR-3 flashlight attachment should be working on all pistols Edited October 9, 2013 by RobertHammer
chortles 263 Posted October 9, 2013 Mild nitpick -- it looks like the slide plate (that would cover the mounting holes) is installed, so here's hoping that the MRD is visibly "embedded" in the slide (as if the slide plate were removed) when one puts it on so that we can get a MRD/"night" sight witness, and by embedded I mean like so, as in here or as on this Glock. (Turns out that Smith & Wesson has done this , albeit with more optics supported "out of the box".)Well not sure about that , because most of pistols dont have top rails for red dot optics but the TLR-3 flashlight attachment should be working on all pistolsTo elaborate, in this case you have the slides slightly cut and with screw holes "drilled and tapped" in this recessed area, and then it'll accept mini/micro optics that would be screwed in (through the sight into the slide) from the top, but that means that not all of the mounting is as "universal" as on a Picatinny rail, although BI may just go the "if it's compatible in the config with a weapon, then it'll have a Picatinny rail adapter when installed if need be" route. :p
GranolaBar 10 Posted October 10, 2013 I think we must wait Monday to test the new guns and maybe the campaign in the development branch. On the screen we see the version 1.110(53) and actually we are on the 1.110951.

On the screen we see the version 1.110(53) and actually we are on the 1.110951. You can't really speculate about release times based solely on those revision numbers. BI are using internal dev branches which are on the same number scheme but can have completely different content than the public builds. Long story short, let's not jump to false conclusions. papanowel 120 Posted October 10, 2013 Anyway, Bis will give us a date for the release this week, so we can expect something precise and clear soon.

purepassion 22 Posted October 10, 2013 Looks like a normal backup red dot to me though. :) I find it suspicious that the red-dot that is mounted on that scope is the same MRD as seen on the rhino, so it is a separate model. All the previous backup red-dots have been integrated into the main scope whereas this one, which exists a separate model, is mounted on a modular picatinny rail. It's all just observation and speculation though!
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted October 10, 2013 All the previous backup red-dots have been integrated into the main scope whereas this one, which exists a separate model, is mounted on a modular picatinny rail. That'd probably be because the real-life main optics that they are based on have integrated attachment points for MRDs where this one doesn't. Even if there was support for adding MRD attachments to optic attachments in Arma 3 it would mean removing support for either the side-rail or muzzle slot accessories from that weapon, because the inventory only has hardcoded support for three attachment slots. purepassion 22 Posted October 10, 2013 Yeah the technical implementation is practically ruling the concept out :)
