Phantom 11 Posted September 10, 2013 check... we played escape from stratis with 4 people, fps between 15-25 fps with high-end graphiccards (i.e. ati 7970 & gtx680oc)... :(
zukov 489 Posted September 10, 2013 COMPETEShould you choose to strike out on your own and wage war against your fellow players, you can. Arma 3 comes with no capped player limit, allowing for massive player vs player operations across the vast expanse of The Republic of Altis and Stratis. In the new Seize and Defend game modes, players can choose to compete against each other in a race to the finish. sorry but "DEFEND Mode" is a coop mode not PVP
comp_uter15776 1 Posted September 10, 2013 sorry but "DEFEND Mode" is a coop mode not PVP Wrong again. Defence gives you the option using a module (Trident) to turn against a previous ally by shooting them more.

Pomi Git 256 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) I noticed some very bizarre AI behavior last night whilst messing about in the editor. I wanted to see what two opposing sides would do if I stripped them of weapons and placed a weapon crate on the map. I placed roughly 30 units together, so say 15 BLUFOR and 15 CSAT, all without weapons and randomly mixed together and ungrouped. I was hoping to amuse myself by seeing a panicked race for a weapon from the crate. The results were odd to say the least. All the units from both sides ran to the same spot and huddled in a tight group like some sort of collective hive. Sometimes they would create two groups. The number of units placed doesn't really make a difference but the more you place the more dramatic it looks. Edited September 10, 2013 by pomigit

Pomi Git 256 Posted September 11, 2013 http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=3202 This issue is more focused on AI not taking ammo from an ammo box when they're out, and according the last note on the issue its no longer a problem. I note there is a related issue http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=7681 about needing a command to make AI take a weapon. What ive highlighted here is probably more related to the latter, but I was more interested in the strange huddle behavior.

I think he means the devs edited the newpaper image. Oh, and whilst Altis isn't as large as JC2's map, I'd say it has a larger area that is playable/varied enough or decent

While a lot of buildings in JC2's map are copypasted, so are most towns and buildings in Altis.

Maybe i'm crazy :) ^^ Edited September 11, 2013 by GranolaBar

comp_uter15776 1 Posted September 11, 2013 I disagree, JC2's map was larger, more varied and nicer than Altis. While a lot of buildings in JC2's map are copypasted, so are most towns and buildings in Altis. Not to go OT but JC2's map just didn't really cut it for me... whether that was partly the storyline of essentially "same old" I'm not sure. So, in that case, I would go with Altis over Panau. Besides, half of Panau is some volcanic rock mountain style landform, which I reckon would be quite horrible for gameplay. (A3... I didn't really like JC2 much anyway)
RushHour 11 Posted September 12, 2013 It´s two great big maps. Arma boys did a fantastic job with Altis in every way possible. Sometimes i just look around the place and get awed. Also, if you think Altis is huge, just imagine what Arma 4 will bring....
