Maio 293 Posted August 13, 2011 And for the AC 130? What do you think about it. It has been use in Middle Orient, where ArmA 3 will maybe take place. The action in ArmA 3 takes place on a Greek island, but I must admit an AC-130 would be tacticool :D

purepassion 22 Posted August 13, 2011 I would have no problem with 2 versions of the C-130: one AC-130 for sales and one ATL version for L4z0rs :D

Pyronick 21 Posted August 13, 2011 This might sound very stupid, but I'd love to see an indoor swimming pool. You know, for a mini-game like dive training mission... Is this small scale water environment possible and realizable?

Well i though the hellenic army have already C130's in use so m quite sure we will see it again but since arma3 will be more less fictional i would assume they upgraded to C5 galaxy or C17 Globemaster FTW :p Well i wish they replace the C130 with one of those above:D

le_culto 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Maybe by using physix you will be able to remove this bug: E0SZBMquMTE ArmA 2 (OFP & Arma 1 too) is the only game I know which allows you to kill someone through a wall with a grenade, please fix it. :)
NeMeSiS 11 Posted August 14, 2011 Wasnt that fixed in ArmA2 a dozen patches ago?

sarge4267 16 Posted August 14, 2011 different types of bodies. What I mean is that not everyone has the same body posture. Include some thin guys, some fatter etc. this would make it more realistic to me (maybe also add females?)

CarlGustaffa 4 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) http://arma3.com/devblog/Zeus_Arma3_screenshots_forums_004.jpgThe runway can't get any longer;) Well, the runway length of 3016m is within MTOW requirements for these aircraft, unlike the C130 which have to takeoff a reduced takeoff weight to takeoff from Takistans 840m long runway. It's even longer than my local airport at 2556m, which have had visits from both these birds. One small caveat though is that the surface wasn't strong enough to hold them (empty) and had to be moved around. But you still get severely limited aircraft applications: 1) You can only operate from a single airport. And only on hard surface. 2) Can't be used on any already existing or easily ported islands. (I think). 3) Internal LOD limitations still dictate lower than number of people on board. 4) These are long range heavy carriers. You can use them to fly in tanks, but from where? However, that is being hyper realistic. But still, what do we need C5/C17 for that the C130 can't do? Edited August 14, 2011 by CarlGustaffa
blu3sman 11 Posted August 14, 2011 But still, what do we need C5/C17 for that the C130 can't do? No need for them, until we get 1000x1000km maps. Maybe only for some kewl movies.
Daniel 0 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) For landing bigger vehicles than the C-130. Although a C-17 performance take off should be enough merit to include them. ;) * * * Thought of something else. Falling Over And Getting Back Up. It sounds simple, and it's probably been mentioned. I reckon it'd help in a few situations though. Nearby explosions could knock you off your feet with or without causing injury. Collisions, with cars for example. If melee did see some implementation, a good whack could knock you off balance. Running off ledges, or off rocks, buildings, etc. Any fall from height that's not immediately life threatening. Edited August 14, 2011 by Daniel
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted August 15, 2011 Afaik it takes longer to prepare such a lift than it takes to drive the vehicle out yourself, given the relatively short distances. The C130 can handle pretty big vehicle air drops (up to Bradley size, about 20 tonnes or so). The bigger ones can fly bigger vehicles to an airport, but can they be delivered on site using airdrop? And if we only have one airport that can handle them, it doesn't make sense. My point being, they have so limited usage they don't belong in the default game. Addons, sure I don't mind. Unless they have a LPD for docking some Abrams to the island, the C-17 is still necessary. If not, there's no way to ship MBTs or other massive armaments.
