birtuma 28 Posted March 27, 2011 No patch on steam?
Atkins 10 Posted March 27, 2011 Seems like the patch has not passed Steamworks control or whatnot... I installed it manually...
Calibanmetal 10 Posted March 27, 2011 I've just downloaded the patch. But there is one thing that confuses me a little. The old patch (1.00 -> 1.08) is 323MB and the new patch (1.00 -> 1.09) is only 276MB. It is always nice to have smaller files but shouldn't the file be bigger unless they deleted some content? luap 10 Posted March 29, 2011 Thank you BIS, I'm seeing much improvements in game play - those were some serious tweaks :D A huge thank you from us ArmA 2 players ! Dwarden the readme being updated would be nice. either disable it (or define rules in your account http://dev-heaven.net/my/account settings) or just create folder for CIT with some autofilter moving it there ... ---------- Post added at 05:27 ---------- Previous post was at 05:26 ---------- You right, the readme changelog isn't complete ... (there are missing some of the engine changes from merge of OA fixes) it will be updated later on the BIKI and for CIT usage ---------- Post added at 05:28 ---------- Previous post was at 05:27 ---------- it's way more than some mission tweaks ... seba1976 98 Posted March 29, 2011 Im getting very bad frame drop when i zoom in and out with 1.09 See the OA threads on patching after 1.57. It's not a bug, it's a feature. I guess it's time to upgrade our hardware. It's odd (and I'm not saying it's bad), but it's odd because we usually expect a new patch to solve problems with previous versions and not much more. But BIS games have longer lifetime than other games, and developers introduce new ways to do things to the engine. That practice usually comes with new versions of other games franchises, but BIS do it with patching. The only downside to that is that from some point on, old customers could have problems exactly as if they would have bought the next version of a normal (non-BIS) game. You just have to accept that this time, because they're not going to go back.
BongoBoy 10 Posted March 30, 2011 For the above reason I think I will stand pat with my 107 version. Seems fine. (Had my struggles with Steam, un-installed the whole setup.) Now I play Arma 2 from a boxed version, fixed all my problems. Playing on Vista 64, Toshiba X300 laptop. Thanks BIS, best game ever. EVER !
OMAC 254 Posted March 30, 2011 Missions 1.08-1.09 Changelog --------------------------- * Fixed: I2 - mission is not failling before the takeoff. * Fixed: C1,I1 - SD pistol mags were missing. * Fixed: C5 - high command icons were not loaded. * Fixed: C6 - task waypoint for transport important POW is fixed. * Fixed: C3 - smuggler not shooting. * Fixed: C2 - Pepan is not at the pump. * Fixed: I1 - Shilka was too strong. * Fixed: I1 - Razor is hunting down one enemy on whole chernarus. * Fixed: minor fixes in (CZ/RU) dubbing protocol. --------------------------- PLEASE update the 1.09 changelog, or reply to this thread, with more detailed explanations as to which missions/scenarios the above fixes apply to. I hope that the NAMES of missions/scenarios can replace the "C1" and "I1" designations, which are very unclear, at least to me. A better changelog will enhance the value of the patch! froggyluv 2136 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) I just gotta say, an this is more a reflection of the last few betas up till this one -you guys have done an outstanding job, especially with the AI. Im playing thru the OA for really the 1st time (owned it since day1), and the friendly AI are just behaving so much better in dense areas, and the enemy are taking cover much better. Performance is quite good as well. Thanks! Woops! Meant this for the 1.59 thread, oh wells, close enough :D Edited March 31, 2011 by froggyluv
Rak 0 Posted April 1, 2011 Awesome patch. I was skeptical about the animation speeds but they help "smoothing out" the gameplay. AI is also much improved. Thanks for all the support BIS. BTW when's the ArmA 3 coming out? :)
mrcash2009 0 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) For anyone wanting change log, just check out the beta page ... ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_79384.log Wont have everything but shows allot up to most recent beta. Also I might be wrong with highlighting this but the whole "Steam only" debate, surely even this latest patch shows "signs".
