  1. RKSL Studios is Proud to present the Second Release of the RKSLA3 Attachments Pack This is the first of a series of Small Arms themed addons that I'm working on. Hopefully plenty more will appear in the coming years of Arma 3's life and this initial release will give you some indication of what I'm striving for in the long run. This addon adds a small selection of scope attachments to Arma 3, utilising the game's weapon customisation feature. Currently the pack contains four optical sights: A Schmidt & Bender 3-12×50 PM II marksman scope (available in two variants both with black, desert and woodland colour schemes) A Schmidt & Bender 5-25×56 PM II sniper scope (with black, desert and woodland colour schemes) A Trijicon RMR mini red-dot sight, (variants for both rifles and handguns, both with black and Flat Dark Earth colour schemes) The UK Armed Forces Elcan Lightweight Day Sight (LDS) (in black and RAL 7006 coyote brown). An Eotech EO552 1x Holographic Sight (in black and RAL 7006 coyote brown). The main aim of the pack is to reflect personal equipment available to members of the UK's Armed Forces and their weapon systems.   2. RKSL Bovington Test Area BETA Bovington Camp is a real location in the Southwest of England. Its primary use is to teach members of the British Forces to drive and use all the vehicles in the British inventory. But it is also used to test and develop new equipment and improvements to existing kit. The map was started due to a conversation with @mikephoenix about having a map to test our vehicles on. I blame him for all that followed. This represents a lot of blood, pain sweat and so many tears its really not funny. It is not the best product I've ever released. And I'm reluctant to release it in this state. But so many people want to get hold of it I've chosen to let it escape into the wild. Some things you really need to understand: This really is an UNFINISHED, WORK IN PROGRESS!! Lots of broken and messed up things. You MUST set your view distance to no more than 4000m to get the best performance. It uses a 4096x4096 height map and has a 1m per vertex resolution and any view distance over 4k causes massive FPS drops. It will be updated and improved upon over time. That time frame may be months or millenia. This version is a slight step backwards in terms of progress in that it has a lot of placeholder buildings and objects. The green buildings are placeholders for custom buildings. These will be swapped out over time. White objects are unfinished or I've screwed up. They will be replaced faster than the green buildings. It was intended from day 1 to be an internal project soley for Mike and myself. If you want to whine and whinge about it, just unsubscribe and move along. And if you cant resist are going to whinge.   3. RKSL Studios presents the LCVP mk5 - UPDATED v3.002 The LCVP Mk5 was built by Vosper Thornycroft and FBM Babcock Marine, with the first entering service in 1996. Four of the vessels can transport a full Royal Marine company (around 140 troops) Presently, the Mk5s operate from the amphibious warfare ships HMS Albion (L14) and HMS Bulwark (L15) This addon adds a medium size landing craft in two versions: Personnel - Carrying 30 passengers, 2 FFR enabled Cargo Turrets with a 2 man Crew.   4. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Puma HC1. NOTE: I'm not entirely happy with this release but im getting pretty frustrated with custom animations. So much so i need a break from it, lest it get binned. So I'm releasing it as a BETA and taking a little break from the project to work on fixes for the Foxhound and some other things. The Puma HC1 first entered service in 1971, and the RAF currently has a fleet of 34 aircraft available to the front-line Support Helicopter Force. The aircraft are operated by Nos 33 and 230 Squadrons, both based at RAF Benson. The combined Puma Force is separated into 5 operational flights and an operational conversion flight, which offers flexibility in its role with both desert warfare and arctic warfare specialist equipment available for fitting to the aircraft. I will continue to support the release until the new models for the HC2 and AS330 Series helos comes online. PLEASE NOTE: This build of the Puma uses a lighting system. To turn on the dash and cabin lights just turn on the aircraft lights. To turn off the external lights all you need do is retract the landing gear. PLANNED FUTURE FEATURES 100% new model. Speed and Limits: Vne = 257kph - Velocity Never Exceed. This is the absolute max safe speed of the aircraft. Going faster than this may result in damage to the airframe or loss of control. Notes: The Puma HC1 has a very high centre of gravity. Be careful when: taxiing during rolling landings. Max safe speed for rolling landing is 75kph Watch for loss of lift when making sharp braking turns. In AFM Try not to use too much rudder about 160kph. Similarly, be careful about pulling up rapidly and over torquing the main rotor. A WORD ABOUT REALISM We strive to make all our addons as realistic as the game engine and our own capabilities allow. This means that real world speeds and capabilities are simulated where possible. Compromises have and will be made where necessary but we will not downscale or completely cripple an aircraft, system or weapon to fit into the limited spaces some ArmA maps provide. We genuinely believe that the manual operation of aircraft is a skill that should be interesting and fun. Not every aircraft flies the same nor do they have the same capabilities. If you can't learn and adapt to change then stick with the vanilla equipment. The Puma has been designed from the ground up to use the Advanced Flight Model. A lot of effort has gone into developing it, give it a try. Its pretty forgiving and damage tolerant. Take the time to learn it and you won't be disappointed.   5. Annnd we're back. After a 6month hiatus for personal reasons things have finally settled down and we're slowly starting to pick up where we left off. To that end I am delighted to announce that we will soon be releasing the ArmA3 native Typhoon v3.000. All the joys of ArmA3 features and the usual RKSL ones... Frequently Asked Questions Q: Will WIP Wednesdays be returning? A: Yes but only once at the end of each month. As much fun as they were they turned into a bit of a monster in terms of time to prepare and publish. They took quite a lot of time away from the actual act of making content which wasnt the point. Q: Will you be bringing all the old RKSL content over? A: Yes, eventually. One by one we will port the existing models over and include the new ArmA3 features. The first releases will be direct ports with the basic A3 features etc. Later releases will see improvements or in some cases new models. Q: What about new content?   6. As promised, the RKSL Christmas tradition continues, Here's the second release. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Foxhound LPPV. The Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was specifically designed to meet the UK MoD’s £200m LPPV programme requirements and replace the Snatch Land Rovers in use with the army. The Snatch Land Rovers have been criticised for their inability to provide protection against IEDs and roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. The LPPV programme’s objective was to have 400 light protected patrol vehicles production ready by 2010. The UK MoD purchased two Ocelot Foxhound vehicles for testing in April 2010. The invitation to tender (ITT) was issued in May 2010. In September 2010, the Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was selected under the programme against the contender Supacat and NP Aerospace consortium’s SPV400. An initial £180m order for 200 Ocelot Foxhound vehicles was made through urgent operational requirements (UOR) process in November 2010 In December 2011 a further 100 Ocelot Foxhounds were ordered as part of a £400m package of protected vehicles and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) technology for British Forces in Afghanistan. The contract was finalised in June 2012. The UK MoD also plans to acquire additional 25 vehicles at a cost of £30m. ArmA2 to ArmA3 This is an improved port of the original A2 release into the A3 game engine. The model itself is largely unchanged with some minor edits to add features and fix some old material bugs. This version also supports some of the newer A3 features such as texture customisation.   7. Well its Christmas, and barring the last few years, its always been an RKSL Studios tradition to release new addons at Christmas. He's the first of this years escapees. RKSL Studios presents the WK450 Watchkeeper 450 Remotely Piloted Air System. The Watchkeeper WK450 is a Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) for all weather, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) use by the British Army. It has a mass of 450 kg, a typical endurance of 17 hours, a payload capacity of 150 kg and uses a rotary Wankel engine. It can operate up to 150 km from the Ground Control Station (although multiple stations can be linked to extend the range). It was originally intended to enter service in June 2010, but years of delays, technical issues, hardware modifications, difficulties in training sufficient pilots and incidents means that it is not expected to be fully operational until late 2017.   8. Apologies for the pics. Im using a Surface Pro4 so it really doesnt have the GPU to do much more than everything on low. Features: LPD with helipad. PhysX compatible. Drivable. Multicrew positions Still to do: While the txtures do look ok there is still more work to do. RVMATs etc The CWIS isnt functioning. The PhysX in the dock is a bit tempermental I need to work on the Geometry a bit more. Animations - radar and cranes etc still need work. Loading management scripts - while the entire thing is PhysX compatible so you can drive around it. If you want to load something and expect it to stay put while you move the ship you need to lock it down. The scripted slots are limited and i'm working on expanding these.. Destruction - I'm planning on makeing it sinkable. Which means debris and lift rafts etc. Various other bits and pieces. Installation: Use your mod folders Use the BIS Addon Launcher. Finding the addon in-game: In the Editor look under BluFor > UK Armed Forces > Boats > RKSL Albion LPD or RKSL Bulwark LPD. Placement ingame: Place the ships atleast 20m from shore. This are big vessels and need space around them. Known Issues: Placing helicopters on the deck needs to be done carefully. Dont drop them from height. This will cause both objects to explode. Steering at speed results in the ship slewing. Take it slowly at first until you get used to the controls Too much speed can be built up if you are not careful. This will be limited eventually.   11. I have a C130 Hercules all lined-up (the correct way) at Chenarus's large primary airport. For some reason, at the end of the takeoff he banks sharp and then crashes into the trees. If he (AI) didn't bank after he lifts off (just went straight) he'd be fine. How can I make this work? I've even given him various types of waypoints but he seems to ignore them (or doesn't get a chance since he crashes so fast). Thanks! :p

This addon set applies chaff and flares countermeasure to all the stock BIS aircraft by default.   14. For some reason I couldnt the A.I. pilot of my Osprey would not stop to land in the place I told him to go! He would fly over my move beacon, then states ready, and just continue flying straight into literally infinity. No matter where else I would tell him to go he would just acknowledge my order but just keep on flying straight. Are these things meant to be used for onced only for paradroping somewhere and not actually meant to land and pick you up later?

  18. Guys, A quickie for you all. I've making up the desktop shortcut for my dedicated server having successfully upgraded it to 1.15 beta. Now, the old 114 shortcut called some addons, namely vegetation fix, the smoke viewblock thingy and the tank flip one, all server side addons. So, the question is, addons that are to be used with the 115 server, do they have to be in the addon folder *in the beta addons directory* or can they remain in their own @folders in the game root directory and be called from the shortcut in the old way? Will that still work?
