The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD
Barden replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Soon™ Basically no work has been done on it yet for not having anyone assigned or involved to do it yet. I think there was a want to convert it to it's proper time period correct model from the model we have with a re-texture which will come in due time. If you know anyone wanting to do that sort of work feel free to contact Eggbeast through PM. -
Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions
Barden replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Considering they have a bug tracker and although you've already explained it here on the forum, I think they would like you to fill out a report on their bug tracker to help with their organisation of tasks and fixes, especially with Tanks dlc coming out there may or may not be a lot of issues in modifications following game updates or dlc releases. EDIT: Sorry first edit sounded a little mean! Teams have their own ways of dealing with bug reports and tracking issues so it's helpful to follow methods given for their organisation to help fix it quicker especially if it's a major patch needed after any game update. Try to take pictures with the report though as that extremely helps them understand the situation and replication of the issue. -

Use the module in the editor under UNSUNG for rug_dsai and you should be able to disable it there via the options available. I believe this enables the default voices on vanilla units again. -
Good movie :) And yeah as hard as it is to create some of the roughest fighting terrain in the word, they did a pretty damn good job of giving it the feel of it.

This should help! TL:DW, If you want to use it out of infantry slot, it has to initiate in a radio slot AT LEAST ONCE and then you'll be able to scroll to receive an option to pull up the radio interface. After that it can sit anywhere in your inventory until you take it out. If you want to play it from a vehicle or crate then it just has to be in the vehicle inventory and then the scroll wheel option should then be available . -

Also I highly suggest testing without ACE or any other mod before reporting. I know ACE issues will arise but we don't test it ourselves so it's good to understand if it's a conflict issue or actual bug on our end. We'll prioritise fixing bugs on our end and trying to fix conflicts by contacting the teams it's conflicting with to sort out the issue but we obviously don't want to reach out if it does not involve their mod at all and is entirely an issue with UNSUNG alone. -

I believe it may just not be there in the editor. We've pushed an editor and zeus fix in the latest update which will be going out shortly in which might solve your issue. -
Project Human 1.2 - Making Death Come Alive!

Would definitely be challenging but by god satisfying. -
We have some footage of the M16A1 HBAR being used in Vietnam. Not sure "how much" use it got but I assume it was late war as it made use of the 30 Rnd magazine and it is visible in at least two clips of footage from firing it in the field. Wasn't visible specifically if Marines or Army were using it, but it was enough to say it was used at least.

EDIT: Jokes aside if they do plan to do them, they would also need a .50 cal model which I know they'll be able to get one using BI's model, however I feel Faces of War is one of these teams that likes doing it for themselves so they might make their own .50 cal if they do end up doing it. Otherwise it's entirely up to them!

Yes as R0adki11 said against really to ask, but you're better of always assuming that the instant response will usually be: When it's ready™

The Unsung Vietnam War Mod 3.0E - Echo Released !!!
Barden replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Easiest way is visiting our discord and going into detail about the bug (E.g. How did you produce the bug and what occurs) https://discord.gg/cVfazAc It would be nice to flesh out the navy but in all honesty there are no plans at all to do so. We would need the models and the time to integrate, since we don't have any boat models beyond our PBR, Sampans and the fictional Vietnamese patrol boat. Would also be nice having more maps to utilise the functionality beyond river patrols like coastal regions beyond just our older maps being surrounded by water. -
Second post in the thread mate :)

Barden replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yes there are definitely issues between UNSUNG and ALiVE although as far as I've been told our problems go deeper than can be simply said. As I've been told we'll need someone confident and fully knowledgeable about ALiVE to help sort out our issue and figure what we'll need to do on our end to solve the problem and fix compatibility with the mod. -

Yes this is the same mod although our team member who was around during those days recently retired from the team (sgt_savage the op of this thread!), but he's still hanging around and listening to both progress and community feedback :) -

If someone steps up to do it! EDIT: We do have higher priority stuff we're getting re textured though so Marine Hueys are fairly low on a list for now. They'll just have to enjoy their new CH-53 toy for now :) -

Believe we have a C-123 Provider still behind the scenes back from ArmA 2 although in need of recovery or maybe even in a state where it's too much effort to bring back. C-119 don't believe we have a model for that at all. -

1. Yes mate! Only mission side though there is no way to disable globally: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/theunsungvietnamwarmod#announcements/detail/1456215383012410430 < Put the code provided in any Init afaik. 4. Yes like Pookie said if you can provide which GL we'll be able to help as we've recently fixed a lot of our grenade launcher sights. I assume you're reffering to the Underbarrel Grenade launcher sights though? If you are they are still in the works and my suggestion currently is try to learn them in hip firing as most engagements in UNSUNG usually happen within short ranges anyway so for now the more you use it, the more you don't ever need a sight :) -

The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD
Barden replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/16/t/83811.aspx /\ Not sure how extensively reliable but DOES seem to provide some input on the matter stating the Nighthawk & Firefly UH-1s which were D & H variants. Definitely a TONNE of those pics show the 50 cal armed on the D or H variant, including "pictures of them in action" when on mission (Again reliability may come into question but if they are real and period correct you have pictures of both the variant with it and it's use in combat). -
Good discussion definitely, but I personally would assume totally up to the mod maker to focus whether or not they like to go for more exact realism or gameplay. You have to remember that with ACE turned on the inventory system is managed with a complete complication in mind. It would be most likely that FOW had built their uniforms and equipment to be true to how many pouches the character is carrying. Although you would have to make sure simple stuff like Airborne uniforms being slightly able to carry more than a standard uniform because of the pockets, and maybe including the bandoleer to an Airborne vest to stick to the principle that the soldier carries the ammo on his webbing, you have to remember that they don't take into account initially then working with an ACE expert to figure out how much the weight since I would assume they make sure it fit an arma 3 medkit or two, like they stated, leaving the backpack for any extra gear. Not sure if they have an ace expert on their team or not, but your arguments seem to be working off the basis like they have one by default when the maybe don't or aren't aware! Not entirely a problem as it's part of the discussion but definitely something to take into consideration.

Yeah you just have to look around for maps whilst I believe most of the community fall back on a mix of the IFA and I44 maps for missions both single player and multiplayer involving WW2 but there should be more I believe like using maps such as Altis, Stratis or Malden for a Greece campaign of sorts? Definitely take a look around there are plenty of maps both out already and still in development for use with WW2, honestly if you look aside the modern buildings which with an eden module that allows you to actually remove, walls, buildings and foliage of any sorts mission makers can actually create any map their way (as long as they have access to the assets to do so).
