CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 26, 2010 Could very well be, considering in Arma2 we don't have the needed commands (addCamShake and setCamShakeDefParams), , ref. But I don't think kickback was supposed to be an exclusive feature for OA, at least I didn't "read it" like that.

Wolfstriked 11 Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) [/color] @Wolfstriked: OA went gold a while ago, beta updates has been hectic the last few days. I'm betting that BIS wants to have a nice patch for OA in a reasonable time, not only to serve us, but to address the techniques used in whatever not-so-legal versions that will appear eventually. Some of these new memory fixes will most likely not be included in the first OA release. And, are you sure the weapon shake we've seen from OA is actually the new kickback? If so, why is it included in the OA that went gold a while back but haven't been tested and adjusted during beta phase? To me, that looks more like a general "shake effect" (also seen when AT rounds explode nearby, but on a larger scale) rather than "kickback". I'm not sure though. I think I saw some OA version stating 1.05xxxx rather than 1.07xxxx, indicating that OA will need to be brought up to speed with Arma2, instead of vice versa. Yes I guess I should stop complaining since BIS really are working their asses off. Also I never said that that :) video of the recoil fix had kickback.I thought otherwise and seen it had just the screen shake.I really hope BIS enable screen shake and the kickback effect to be moddable so that modders can tweak the individual weapons. ---------- Post added at 03:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:05 PM ---------- Could very well be, considering in Arma2 we don't have the needed commands (addCamShake and setCamShakeDefParams), , ref. Uhoh...is that a global feature and not able to tweak each weapon? If BIS did this I do not know I can forgive them.Would be sweet to have machine guns with alot and pistols with little etc... ---------- Post added at 03:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:08 PM ---------- @uncle,you can force vsync off in ATI settings.I just reinstalled my OS on to my HDD and saved my SSD just for Arma2 and OA.I thought I would give this a try and see that is what u have done also.Nice to know your getting good results. ---------- Post added at 03:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:14 PM ---------- Ok finally download complete of 1.07 and it says "wrong CD key"???This is Steam version. NEVERMIND....I had to run the game once first then apply patch. Edited June 26, 2010 by Wolfstriked
Steakslim 1 Posted June 27, 2010 Wolf, what ever you do, do not click or open ArmA2 through steam once it's been patched beyond 1.04. Steam will try to revert the version back to 1.04 since that's the last patched version it has in it's database. You probably already know this, but I figured I should warn yah anyways. The patch works fine on our local machines but not the server. Is anybody having the same issue?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Roush

Akrazor 10 Posted June 27, 2010 First of all sorry for my poor English. When viewing the list of changes 1.07 update improves the following: [71143] Improved: -cpuCount=4 is now default on computers with more than four logical CPUs to prevent hyperthreading causing performance problems. If you want to use more CPUs, use -cpuCount=N to override this. [71117] Optimized: Geometry loading in now optimized for multiple cores. Extra threading now enabled by default on computers with more that 2 CPUs. New possible -exThreads values: 5 (thread geometry loading only) and 7 (thread all) I wondered if now the game will benefit from HT technology incorporating some Intel processors. I put my case as an example, with an Intel Xeon W3520: With the 1.07 update installed, how ArmA II will have better performance? - With HT disabled (4 physical cores) - 4.4 GHz each core. - With HT enabled (4 physical cores + 4 logical cores) - 4.4 GHz each core. I ask this because some applications have worse performance when HT enabled. Thank you very much. Greetings.
jpinard 10 Posted June 27, 2010 I couldn't find this answered so please don't skewer me. I'm doing a fresh install of ArmA2 before installing OA. So should a person doing this do the following? 1. Install ArmA 2 2. Install ArmA2 OA 3. Install Patch 1.07 --OR-- 1. Install ArmA 2 2. Patch ArmA 2 to 1.07 3. Install OA. 4. Re-apply patch 1.
