Island Jade Groove

Someone may have already posted this but I seem to have a strange problem with shadows on this map where I can see peoples and objects shadows through the ground.

Another thing I was trying to swim to the islands North West side and about 200 meters from the shoreline it wouldnt let me swim forward. If I swam into the invisible wall, even though I wasnt moving forward, as soon as I stopped swimming forward it would shoot me backward a few meters kinda like if your going up too steep a mountain and you slide down so I think its some odd elevation issue. I ended up having to follow the wall which took me a bit further north than originally planned.

Aside from that I loved the map in all its post apocalyptic glory. I used the Colonial Marines mod cuz they felt the most suitable to the era, your making the raiders, etc part of the next version instead of a separate dl right?

I got this strange bug that i have only experienced on this map... I use ACE 2 and when I use Tanks the projectiles from the main cannon dissapear before they get to their target.... They don't explode. This is the case with all the tanks but everything else works fine including the MGs on the tanks...this bug is a pain in the arse and im not sure whether this is a problem with ACE on this map or somthing else completely....I have not experienced this on any other map.

^^ So test load the island without ACE and see.

IceBreakr: How do you like 6 of the compounds based on MadMax 2 flick?

I have no troubles with the island and ACE2 either. Tank shells wreck shop here as well as anywhere else.

I tried the map without ACE and still my view was at the bottom of the car in first person, but trying it without any addons was fine. I'm going to try and try my addons plus the map one by one and narrow down what is causing the problem.

It's not ACE, it was oac_core.pbo in my case.

Nice Island, Icebreaker, but can you replace normally houses with damaged ones? There are good looking damadeg house models, built in a2, but they are appear i editor only with John Editor Update.

Also there is an error - when exiting from editor of this island, in main menu appears: "You can`t modify this mission, beacause in depends on addons that was deleted."

Wow! amazing idea for a map and amazing execution. Other than little things (most of which aren't even worth mentioning) it's perfect.

Woah scratch that IceBreakr its a problem for me on every map, and the projectiles are not dissapearing, the explosion FX are the same FX for bullet hits lol! Somthings wrong.... Very wrong... :butbut:

Ice, the mad max-ish compound has that BIS model guard post turned the wrong way. You cant enter it as the entrance is against the wall. Maybe you knew it. Just mentioning it.

The 2 level guard "tower" with camo net. You enter and go up a small ladder to the top. It's to the far left when entering the compound.

Finally got around to trying this. It's a beautiful map, but lacks mission making potential. Maybe add some cool little areas in places no one would really look, It's something I love about Chernarus. If you take the time to explore you're always finding someplace new. :D

Anyways, great map...AGAIN!

I like this map. Long roads, many ground elevation variations, good atmosphere... very good.

Now about some things I noticed.

I have the same problem with the car. My driver is sunk into the road below but you already addressed that. There is also a problem concerning the shadow of the wooden ramps. It seems part of the ramp (or it's shadow I am not sure) is rendered before everything else and you end up seeing a dark horizontal strip floating in front of you when you approach it.

Needs more abandoned/ruined towns. More deserted and broken stuff. Maybe a long ass bridge over a huge ravine. As some people said it need more special little places. How about an oil platform out in the ocean? Some abandoned factory complex in the mountains. There are great elements in islands such as Klurs and Namalsk that you can get great ideas from.

i have a problem with the mfp interceptor when i will drive then i see only the gaspedal ...the player is not sitting on the drive chair whats the problem? and yeahh sigmas vehicle pack is good for this mod but its only for arma1 :(

Sigma cars will soon get an update for A2, so hold. If you're not using any crappy/incompatible mods the inside-view should work properly for driver.

Yeah yeah I know, I was just giving a few tips. ;)

It's a great map regardless. I just have trouble thinking of mission ideas for it.

I have got some good ideas for zombie related missions for it, just needs some more dilapidated towns.

The problem (Or at least for me) was oac core which came with caa1. Making a different launcher without it is what I ended up doing.

Bug: bushes are bulletproof, and hited a little they lay down on the ground, like a tree. Can make a video, if needed.
