yes. Everybody does.

Just hit 'reaload all' button in TS3 plugin config after each TS3 start.

I'd love to have a command to add to a unit's init that sets the short + long range radio frequencies. With this command mission makers could set the various radio nets and avoid having the players do that during each mission.

Thanks for the mod!

We're testing it and using it with SR5 Tactical and I have to say at first I thought it would just introduce too many variables and commands to make it effective in combat but now I think I mis-interpreted the whole thing: it actually introduces "positive bottle-necks" that improve the game-flow and overall communication effectiveness.

One suggestion, if I may:

it would be great to be able to "disable" the "scroll-wheel" commands. I would find it awesome to be able to use the Custom Key shortcuts (like A, S and D) while NOT having the commands via the action menu.

I undestand it should be "on" by default but it would be great for me if I could "clean the action menu" from the radio commands, since I'd be only using key commands.

Thanks anyway! Great job,

Alberto.

Sup dude,

Unfortunately the scroll menu can not be disabled bruddaahhh

how come?

Any understandable explanations for a person who doesn't understand any programming?

We will be moving a majority of the controls out of the action menu and into dialogs, with key bindings set appropriately.

Can I set "Preset" freqs in the short/long range radio via my mission? If so, could someone provide an example, please?

This is simply a brilliant idea.

Thanks.

Here is our feedback (meaning mine but it resembles the opinion of the entire SR5 Tactical gaming group):

The idea behind the mod is excellent and so is the technical realization: Initially, I thought this would just add a lot of additional parameters and stuff to take into account to hurt the overall gameflow and dynamic deployment and interaction between players.

As it turns out I was wrong: the mod was conceived with more simplicity than it looks and it perfectly blend into the "normal" gameplay without hassles. Overall gamestyle and dynamics are not degraded, actually they are enhanced.

This mod is excellent for clearing out verbose players, as well. It creates, as I wrote before, "positive bottle-necks" in communication that clean up the gameplay rather than making it more foggy and blurry.

Now, for the negative aspects of this mod:

After two days of 4-hours long Domination playing on our servers and in local testing we had to remove Arma2TS3. No matter how we love this mod and are willing to use it, our opinion is that it is still in an early stage of development in which a lot of bugs make it frustrating to use:

1) Radio Start/Finish Broadcast sometimes loops randomly as in a very fast "on-off-on-off-on";

2) Some people randomly cannot hear direct communication but hear short and long range comms clearly (while being in obvious proximity from the speaker - and the speaker is clearly not whispering to him);

We - as SR5 Tactical - want to let the developers know that we are more than willing to test further versions and provide feedback or reproduction-environments for the mod to be tested. We're all fluent in spoken and written English, some speak German, French or Spanish, too (sadly not the average italians you have learnt to expect).

Let us know if there is anything we can do, keep up the great work: once polished this mod will be a stardard like ACE2, for most of the more serious gaming groups in combat simulation.

Alberto.

negative aspects of this mod

1: only if you broadcast short and long range radio at the same time !! (sic)

2 3: players probably have different versions of this mod ... (003 has two versions - try to get the last one)

I'll look into it.

As for 2 and 3 I can assure you we all installed in the same Teamspeak session, I made sure everybody had the same link, from Armaholic. Maybe it's not the latest one? (I thought so) but it was definitely the same version among all players.

3) Dedicated server CRASHES after roughly two hours of playing. We haven't been able to reproduce this problem (nor could we repro the ones above) but this is a massive problem since we all know in two hours you get to a certain critical point of an operation and having the server crash can be very bad.

I believe it is not related to the A2T. Because A2T is client side mod only. None of the communication is realized through the game server.

The communication is between player's game and players TS3, then between TS3 client and TS3 server.

Excellent, we're sorting out this problem with the info provided, meaning we're making the mission itself our primary suspect.

Thanks for the info, we're going to keep the support coming, it's the least we can do, no feedback no glory ;)

No because its not a mission side script. You can edit the .pbo file on your end since the mod is client side but then servers using sig checks for kick or even ban you for using a hacked version of the addon since you edited it.

I was thinking of variables used by the mod that can be changed with the presence of a Game Logic or trigger.

I will put in a feature request in Dev Hev.

I thought I read the addon's scripts simply used setvariable on a player to set/read frequency? If so then a mission script could do the same thing. the scripts that are already running in the PBO might reset/override it, though. I'm sure it could be changed to work out.

More feedback:

3) Dedicated server CRASHES after roughly two hours of playing. We haven't been able to reproduce this problem (nor could we repro the ones above) but this is a massive problem since we all know in two hours you get to a certain critical point of an operation and having the server crash can be very bad.

Disregard the above. Further testing indicates there is no relationship between A2TS and server crashes. I was notified the problem was on my end and not on the server. Our server never crashed (yeah, we're this good XD).

---

Another error: as you can listen to by clicking on this link to download the audio file some users experience a loop that makes TS crash.

Arma 2 displays "No response from TS plugin" (which is obvious since TS crashes), user has to ALT-Tab and force-quit Teamspeak to restart it. Once restart A2TS behavior gets back to normal..until the loop happens again.

Restarting is risky because sometimes force-quitting doesn't work and leads to a system crash (less frequent).

User experiencing this problem had the following:

- x86 system

- latest Teamspeak client version (3.0.0b17, or anyway the latest x86 client version as of today)

- A2TS v003 - exact same zip file we all used

- had JOINED IN PROGRESS and not started the game from the very beginning.

We hope this can be of help,

Let me just make a post on behalf of Dead Echo, even though i can see that one of our members has already thrown in a little reply.

We have used this mod for two gaming sessions, and we simply love the script. There is a small problem with its stability, since we are experiencing abnormalities after about 2-3 hours of gameplay. People will become loud as if their mod is not activated and sometimes the entire channel seems to have a bug which deactivates the mod.

It is really sad that this is happening since we fully intend to incorporate it into our games as fast as possible, but we will probably be waiting for future versions which will hopefully fix some stability issues.

Recap:

Some people would suddenly become loud as if their mod is not active.

After about 2-3 hours the entire TS channel will bug which makes everyone loud, if we reconnect to the TS server the mod will work for a brief period, but within a few minutes the plugin or addon will bug again forcing us to use standard TS communication.

Let us know if you need any additional information!

Other feedback from the user:

2010-03-10 17:42:56.046875 - InfoFailed to load plugin: C:\Utility\TeamSpeak 3 Client\plugins\arma2ts_64.dll

Which is weird because the user has an x86 Win XP Professional.

Looks like user saves all files from A2T package into TS3 plugins directory

Only correct version dedicated for the operation system should be installed.

I suggest to not report any problem which is caused by 'unqualified' users

I can quote. We've pretty much experienced the same thing.

Maxym, would you please care to elaborate on "unqualified"? Thanks.

I am sorry..we missed this. We didn't find trace of this info in the information text we used when learning how to install the mod.

For example, quoting installation procedure from page 1 of this thread:

1) Download the addon

2) Extract the @a2t folder in your Arma base path.

3) Extract the TeamSpeak folder content in your Teamspeak 3 client plugins folder.

4) Activate the VOIP Arma 2 in your teamspeak 3 interface.

5) Launch Arma2 with @a2t mod (CBA and ACE needed !).

6) Configure 3 key wich are :

User Defined Keys User1 : activate/deactivate long range radio

User Defined Keys User2 : activate/deactivate short range radio

User Defined Keys User3 : switching whishpering/talking/yelling mod

!UPDATED!

I advise you to first remove all configured key in these 3 useless actions.

And then to configure the 3 keys...

7) Join any multiplayer session.

8) Enjoy !

I made the wrong assumption to think that the entire folder had to be copied, not just the appropriate dll. I am sorry about this. I am going to inform all the other members, who did exactly the same, wrong assumption.

Great great addon! Thank you very much guys a2t simplifies and emphasises at the same time the game's comms. We are hard testing it on our server and we love it even if we are experiencing the same issues of others testers. Jip "sabotations", 2h~ limit of clean usage of the addon, and random ts3 crash plus audio loop for the poor one in game (similar to albertors audio file). We'll keep to support with our feedback and thanks for the passion and time you are putting in guys !

Last but not least:

I suggest to not report any problem which is caused by 'unqualified' users

You made my day lol really. Everyone here is trying to give a little help and feedback to those guys..I don't think a skillfilter is needed, the guys can handle this by their own

Albertors we noticed the same prob since there wasn't a specifc line in the inst procedure. Now on, next "unqualified" readers will easly find out that there are different dll and just one is needed ;)

Alot of people have assumed :P

But it does say extract the "content" from the folder :p :p

Let us know how it goes once installed

---------- Post added at 03:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:58 PM ----------

1) Download the addon "http://www.blackwater.fr/arma2ts003.zip"

2) Extract the '@a2t' folder to your your Arma base path. (Where all the other mod folders are)

3) Extract the TeamSpeak folder ( content )... in your Teamspeak 3 client ( plugins ) folder.

4) Activate the VOIP Arma 2 in your teamspeak 3 interface. By Clicking on Settings --> Plugins Tick the Arma 2 TS Check box, then restart TS

5) Launch Arma2 with your mods plus... the @a2t mod in the command line (CBA and ACE needed !).

6) Configure 3 key wich are :

Options --> Controls --> Custom Controls --> Custom controls 1, 2 and 3

Delete what ever is in there and set it to what you want...

User Defined Keys User1 : activate/deactivate long range radio (Have to be in a car, chopper or have radio back pack etc...)

User Defined Keys User2 : activate/deactivate short range radio (To use the radio that u carry)

User Defined Keys User3 : switching whishpering/talking/yelling mod (It sounds like Direct talk but much better)
