bunnyman 10 Posted February 1, 2010 I am currently working with audio to make voice clips for combat, commands and responses, I even have soundbytes that can be used for training missions, modded missions etc. I also have a selection of decent military band music that is relevant and atmospheric. I have very good high level equipment and programmes, as well as musical editting and production experience. I will be posting and updating some of my selections as I go on, right now I am just scouting for feedback. I will be interested to see what the community thinks of my ideas though. So stay tuned. What I need is someone to help transfer these audio via coding, overview the lipsync and so on. Basically a decent modder to complete the partnership. If you are interested and can help, please email me at rossalexdowning@gmail.com Please NO KIDS or TIMEWASTERS. Let's get it done!
Nixo 10 Posted February 1, 2010 So will this soundmod be like when a soldier says 2,3,4:goto:that:tree:200m: ? and the accent will be "brittish english" ?

therev709 10 Posted February 1, 2010 Now I use some of the SAS, SBS, SBJ guys as a multinational force, hence some of them are American :P But of course if I set the voice in the description.ext I shouldn't have any issues, but I was wondering if these voices will be selectable, i.e. description.ext file, for other units I want to make British?? Hopefully mate, that is the goal. As I say though that is not really my area. So hopefully someone can confirm that for us and make it happen. Thanks for all your support and feedback lads. I will get a little promo vid up on youtube pretty soon, should give you all an idea of what the end result will feel like.

Being a Jock ;) you could probably be a great help doing voice-overs, if you can make decent recordings. Fancy shouting military orders until the neighbours bang on the wall?! Unless of course you are married and then you already do this.

bushlurker 46 Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) the Scots are disproportionately represented in the armed forces, especially the army. Heheh - you ain't kidding... We did a deal with the English a few hundred years back... they stop burning our houses and we teach them to fight in the traditional scottish manner - with a total disregard for personal safety :D I'm from Glasgow originally - so I have that flat, urban scots accent (sortof Billy Connolly), and I can muster the slightly more "cultured" Edinburgh accent (sortof Sean Connery), as well as the sing-song touch of the gaelic highlands and islands one (can't think of an example :()... If I can scrounge up a half-decent mic I'll volunteer to provide some sound samples... B Edited February 2, 2010 by Bushlurker

bunnyman 10 Posted February 4, 2010 Cheers lads, yeah of course I would be well up for having scottish voices. As you lads say they are very well represented in our forces, not least in the elites (marines and paras) and the SF units. Yeah yeah I know you think you are all hard! But seriously, if you can make some decent recordings copying some of the yanks commands and responses as a sample of what you can do/sound like and PM it to me I will defo get in touch if I reckon I can work with it. Incidentally you lot might be interested to know that I am planning other things on the side of this too, such as looking into a server running only UK units (Challenger tank, Puma, Lynx and Chinooks, land rovers etc) as well as getting some pretty good self-made missions that I want to form into a kind of campaign...UK invades Russia! domokun 515 Posted February 4, 2010 As a fellow Brit I'd be very interested in helping out. Although it's no better than anyone else's, I have a fairly distinctive accent (its unequivocally British), some experience in voiceovers and half-decent recording equipment. So how about you give us a few lines to voiceover? That way it'll make it easier for you compare the clarity, diction and quality of our contributions? I suggest a mix of orders and acknowledgments, long and short.
