"Chill Winston" :) I'm sure we'll get more in due time. I think the amount of effort gone into the beta's and 1.05 so far have warrented BI's festive holiday :)

Just enjoy the new patch then! :)

No worries, it will start up again when they are ready. I doubt they'd even provide you an answer as to when but I could be wrong. ;)

Amen!!! They sure as hell deserve it!

Maybe just enjoy 1.05 and if you come across any problems note them and refer them to BI later (probs early next year). I hope 1.06 will be the performance patch though.

1.06 = OA ?

EDIT : Strange, forums forcing OA to be written lowercase unless I write smtg after ...

I wouldn't have thought so...they haven't even released the "final" patch for ArmA yet....

Holiday break for BI devs...and bloody well deserved too imo.

I thought 1.05 was the final patch?

Cant be final. OfP reach 1.90 didnt it? ArmA patches still not done, and ArmA II have far much more potensial. Devs said that AI changes are going to keep improving next year.

1.05 was a final patch in the sense that it had finished beta testing and was in ITS OWN final form. ArmA2 has not had its final patch, however.

It's not the final patch for ArmA II, not by a long shot. They used "final" to distinguish between it and the beta patches, that's all. It's the "finalized" patch, not the last one ever.

Patience is a virtue and IMO BIS deserves whatever holiday they get just like everyone else!

Like Zipper said. Its called FINAL as its an official patch. However it introduced new problems to some and CTD's to me. With that info im sure its not the final. AI doesnt get back in line and is hard to do anything with when in combat and right after combat.

So this is not the "final" patch.

But please let BIS have some holiday and rest a bit. :)

It sounds like you expect BIS to have the game perfect before they quit making patches. ;) ..

Are you talking with any authority, or just guessing?

The same issue came up with ArmA when 1.0x Final was released. Some folks got worked up over the word 'final'. It was quickly straightened out that it did not mean final patch ever. I think it is safe to assume the same with ArmA 2.

I'm positive we will see more patches in 2010 :)

There was one silly typo in the "60819 AI emulation" in 61292 which rendered it completely broken in some situations. This typo was fixed in 62003, which is present in the public final patch. Do not worry, the AI improvements and experiments are likely continue in 2010, therefore if you have some more repros regarding the 1.05 patch, feel free to post it here. I would rather prevent having them in a separate movement dedicated topic, though.

Sarge;1531498']assuming that you mean "a last final patch"..........they recently did:

I hope they make much more patches for ArmA II then ArmA. I think ArmA II is a better game in every way, and that the game deserves to be great trough much patching.

The game is pretty solid but the performance in the cities really needs to be looked at, its pretty bad in 1.05 still.

Have a good holiday BIS :)

I have a sneaky feeling that the "final" ArmA2 patch will come in the form of "Operation Arrowhead" as it's supposed to include some game engine tweaks and modifications.

As OA is designed as a stand alone game (presumably a sequel to ArmA2) that will also use ArmA2 files if they are installed (ala the IL2 series) I expect patches will be targeted towards OA but will effect ArmA2 if it's installed.

My biggest problem is AI controlled by me... Im going mad. Cant heal, cant move, cant get in vehicles & cant do anything but lying around and defy all my orders GRRRRRR!!!!

Playing ACE doesnt make it better. So much more danger around. Backblast, Dangerzones around tanks etc, and i cant tell my AI to get the **** away and they die from shockwaves etc haha... F*** im going insane.

Controlled AI needs to get the old system back where we order them into DANGER, and skip the auto version. It was a good idea, but as ive said - the AI can not compare to our intelligence - not yet. :)
