Ville89 10 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) I would suggest you load CBA and all the ace stuff (and possible soundmods) before CAA1 and after that all the maps you want to use. Edited February 14, 2010 by Ville89
Nepeccel 10 Posted February 14, 2010 Hi, I'm trying to find acex_usarmy and I think a vehicles mod because a lot of the Ace2 servers use these and I'm missing them. I checked on here and armaholic but there are so many US army mods that I don't know which one to download! Will runnin the six updater again solve this and download these files? Would I need to let it link me to that website and do the installation process it did when I installed Ace?

horrgakx 1 Posted February 14, 2010 Quick question if I can ask please; I seem to have copies of the ACE @Directories. I have used the installers/updaters that are available. Which version do I choose? (screenshot below)
Jimbo05 10 Posted February 14, 2010 Update your launcher horrgakx, it's horribly out of date, the newest version won't display the duplicate packs.
Simon C 0 Posted February 14, 2010 @ACE, @ACEX, @ACEX_PLA, @ACEXSM. Ignore anything to do with rsync in the target line.
horrgakx 1 Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks, I've updated the launcher and it is as you say much simpler.
wiggum2 31 Posted February 14, 2010 The CQB Sights are not aviable on a the M4 with ACOG, but on a M16 with ACOG you could use them by pressing SHIFT + F. Is this a bug or a feature ?
dondaddah 10 Posted February 14, 2010 real quick questions: (and i know this was asked before, but now i can't find the responses) When i point at a squad member his name or class shows up. How do i turn that off? AND lastly, are there zoom and function switches to the mini GPS that comes up from Ctrl M? Can i zoom out? thanx for your 'kind' responses. ~S~
GTO 10 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) I can lock on just fine with Hellfires (me as Gunner), tested them extensively for Shtora testing. Cobra though, don't know about the others. You are a lucky Guy because I sure can't and no-one in any server I play in can either. Hell the targeting system doesn't even see the enemy!! Maybe that's the real problem? First post of this thread has all info you ever need. Second, answer is no. No zoom function for the small GPS (at least not in ARMA2). If ACE changed that i dont know. But i dont think so. Again, if they did a change please check first post in this thread, and look for ACE FEATURES link. Should/could be mentioned there if they changed anything. AnimalMother92 10 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Possibly a silly question: If I equip an AI team member with an IR strobe this addMagazine "ACE_IRStrobe"; how do I make them keep it on for the mission, preferably automatically? Thanks I've tried fiddling with the fire command, but no luck. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/fire Am I completely off or just missing something obvious? *edit* woot, got it, Thanks rocko! Alex72 1 Posted February 15, 2010 How do I simply bandage myself? Action menu? Should have a blue text there "Use bandage" and if you have morphine there should be an "Use morphine" option in blue as well. Healing others with bandage and morphine i seen many wonder how to do that. Walk up to the injured and press Right WINDOWS key (between AltGr and Ctrl) as you look at him. That brings up a "rose menu". Click EXAMINE. Then if he is hurt you get another option in that menu like BANDAGE etc. After you have bandaged someone you should examine him again. He might need more medical attention.
horrgakx 1 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi all - has anyone created a set of low-threat missions designed to show off the ACE features? I've recently installed it to play 'Operation Jackel's Hunt' and I'm struggling to find stuff that is new in the ACE mod. Thanks :) Apologies in advance if this has been asked before, but try searching Google for 'ace training mission'

Maybe that's the real problem? I can lock on just fine with Hellfires (me as Gunner),..... But you cant lock as pilot with AI gunner. I really like the mod but its an annoyance not being able to target as a lot. I play some warfare maps as single player and not being able to target as pilot takes the chopper right out of the fun equation. I would be happier even if the AI gunner did target enemy vehicles etc but to my knowledge they dont
xeno 234 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Action menu? Should have a blue text there "Use bandage" and if you have morphine there should be an "Use morphine" option in blue as well. Action menu entries for the player get only added when the player has epi, bandages or morphine. But it's only for the player. Right. Interaction menu is the way to go. It removes the problems of adding action menu entries on wounded units (specially in MP) as most of the wounds variables are only local to the wounded unit. But... if you don't have epi, morphine, bandages you only get the drag option and some information what the wounded unit needs. The advantage is that we don't need looping scripts to check for wounded units or have to broadcast the add action over the network for every wounded unit. Information is only gathered when you actually use the interaction menu. This reduces network usage and helps performance wise. So get the interaction menu working :) Edit: Forgot to mention... compared to other implementations (norrins revive, BIS AIS) the ACE system is for all units not only for players. Means you can even treat enemy AI units which also means that they can fall unconscious and so on. Xeno Edited February 15, 2010 by Xeno
