Why is next patch taking so long?

Recommended Posts

Why is next patch taking so long? It`s 1.05, right? The previous patches have been released a short time after each other. Why is this one taking so long?

Because it's going to be friggin awesome. ;)

Try the beta patches, they are MP friendly and you will see the difference between the official 1.04 patch.

BIS has announced beta patches here, but as they are not final ones, they are only released on beta test purpose. To avoid useless rants.

I hope it take so long, because they are going to make it right this time.

And if the 1.05 will be as good as the last beta, there will be a lot more satisfaction within the community.

I also hope that such a patch will be in the news on several game sites to get some players back to this game!

Hi ^Th0mas^

I didnt even know there was beta patches??

Lots of areas in the forum people do not visit, time you became adventurous!

I know there was some beta patches before 1.04.

So why did you think they would just stop beta patch tests? Err Mr Spock empathic logic lessons needed!

Why havent BIS announced them somewheree here??

Err go here:

http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9

You maybe pass along this forum street every time you go look at the MP section of the forum, or perhaps if you have the index page of the forum favourited rather than just General you come in via this point

http://forums.bistudio.com/index.php

and then go navigating past that first link.

Did you ever think of looking in those other sections?

I think you should start!

You can also try the BIS Wiki it is well worth exploring:

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Main_Page

after a little exploring you could find this page:

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_2:_Beta_Builds

As I pointed at the start; make a little time every day to have an adventure!

I do! If I had not I would not know about Tin Whiskers.

Kind Regards walker

I'm happy about the way BI has been releasing these Beta's pretty frequently. Some good fixes and added content going on.

You want to see some seriously bad patching -check out CM's DR erhm, Credit Fixing patches....

Performance here is already great. How about AI, AI driving and bug improvments?

Try the beta it installs as a mod so no worries :)

Are they fixing the crazy lighting/HDR some people get? I get extremes in lighting like a MOFO. My only complaint, besides the campaign bugs.

The fixes in the patch are worth the wait and are Huge changes, like Performance increase, Glass layer, Mp optimizations, Modules etc, take alook at Devheaven.net and go to Arma 2 community and you can see all the bugs and adresses they are adding into 1.05, this game will run so damn good on my computer once this patch comes out, take your time BIS.

Goodluck and Cheers. :D

*cough*bull*cough*

Why do people say stuff like that when its been announced and mentioned a million times already that the development of OA is not adversely affecting that of ArmA2 in any way....

Jesus.

The beta patches are a massive improvement already - I can't go back to playing with 1.04. I think a few more weeks will be worth the wait.

Yeah, only thing with beta patches is that they come out very often and you have to reinstall betas on dedicated which I had enough of in Arma 1. I only use betas for my personal use.

True, but it's not quite the same as Arma1 because these beta client patches are backwards compatible with the currently released patch.
