RUDOLF 9 Posted October 9, 2009 Yes, but Peiper did encounter the 82nd Airborne. Really? It seems I never saw such record before.
Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted October 9, 2009 Really? It seems I never saw such record before. KG Peiper encountered the 82nd in force at a defensive line at Manhay on 25 December and between Bergeval and Rochelinval. There were also several times that Peiper turned away from locations that were held and defended by the 82nd, and most of the engagements between these two groups were small unit actions hardly worth mentioning in big history books. Redfield-77 10 Posted October 10, 2009 I love the idea of the new campaign. I44 was the best mod ever and I always wished the campaign could have been played co-op. I havent played a good ww2 game with some friends since Hidden and Dangerous back in the day. I'll be watching this thread. :ok:

JdB 151 Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) I44_John --> Maybe some screens :D If you can of course... :p I can't wait for the mod! As I posted a few posts above yours, "When we have news we want to share, we'll be sure to post it ;)" And coincidentally we have some stuff that we were going to put in a newspost today, so it will be viewable in a few hours max. Stay tuned ... ---------- Post added at 06:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ---------- The [newspost] is now public. sky_line 11 Posted December 2, 2009 Looking forward to play this mod! It was awesome in ArmA 1. To I44 Team: I hope you'll keep that ass-kicking sound of the Thompson M1. But maybe you'll reduce it's recoil a bit? It was too strong in A1 that the full auto was ineffective. Anyway, keep it up, gentlemen!:)
Sky999 10 Posted December 2, 2009 Will you have any SS units wearing black with swastika armbands? Not realistic in a battle zone but looks cool :D
JdB 151 Posted December 2, 2009 Will you have any SS units wearing black with swastika armbands? No, there won't be any of those.
trooper117 10 Posted December 2, 2009 So glad to hear you say that.. SS units in various designs of cammo smocks and helmet covers, or just field grey will look the part, rather than a 'parade' uniform..
RUDOLF 9 Posted December 3, 2009 I'm sure things from Invasion 44 would be very realistic as ever.
sky_line 11 Posted December 4, 2009 here's vid of Thompson M1 fire: and here's M1 Garand: I'm posting this to show that the Thompson has too much recoil in the mod than it actually has. It's almost like Garand in the game. I don't want it to have no recoil at all like BIS Mp-5 but maybe you should decrease it a little bit? The barrel moves to much upwards after the first shot that it makes full-auto mode useless! I really like your mod in A1 but this is the only thing that I don't like. This is my feedback, anyway:) ---------- Post added at 02:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:08 PM ---------- <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWRetdD5BzU&hl=ru_RU&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWRetdD5BzU&hl=ru_RU&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_fRPZn9YD4&hl=ru_RU&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_fRPZn9YD4&hl=ru_RU&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

SFG 1 Posted December 14, 2009 Will it be possible to play Omaha beach in ArmA 2 too? Yes, that is what we are porting.
cyclone83 6 Posted December 14, 2009 UhYeah!!! I actually reinstalled ArmA 1 so I could play D-Day. Went through one week ago and it was a great pleasure ;) While u´re already on it, what about implementing the story of saving privat ryan, say for bonus? Would be great ^^
cheritto 0 Posted December 14, 2009 I heard u were focusing for ur Arma2 release on multiplayer. Can we expect to have a warefare mission for invasion 1944 at its release?
JdB 151 Posted December 14, 2009 While u´re already on it, what about implementing the story of saving privat ryan, say for bonus? Would be great ^^ Adding a bonus that would take months to develop to a project that we're not going to expand. That's not going to happen :p I heard u were focusing for ur Arma2 release on multiplayer. Can we expect to have a warefare mission for invasion 1944 at its release? D-Day No. It's not planned. The current missions are being reworked as they no longer work as they should. Whether we add any further missions to the port is a matter of free time (or the lack of it). If we have time left before the release (other things being finished), something might be added. Wacht am Rhein Nothing about additional separate (non-campaign) missions for Wacht am Rhein has been planned so far either, because the plan for the campaign missions hasn't been fully worked out yet. Once we know what kind of missions the campaign will contain, we can plan some additional SP and MP missions. We don't want to have all missions being pretty much identical, like all simple attack/defend missions, so what kind of mission will be in and what won't is impossible to say until the planning of the campaign is finished. The same pretty much goes for the weapons, vehicle, soldiermodel etc lists btw.
LJF 0 Posted December 15, 2009 Everything you mentioned sounds awesome, from playing as the Germans to putting realism and authenticity above political correctness. I can't wait, armoured WW2 combat is about as good as it gets :)
Molke2005 10 Posted December 19, 2009 Will there be winter camouflage clothing and winter camouflage for vehicle? Or everything plays out in the summer?

Soldat-Hans 0 Posted January 6, 2010 how far were you going with the completion from I44 Arma 1 to 2? I mean, how long will the work be? I am a fan from I44 too, but the arma 1 Release came so late! Dont play it because I wait for the Arma 2 version. :(
JdB 151 Posted January 6, 2010 how far were you going with the completion from I44 Arma 1 to 2? I mean, how long will the work be? I am a fan from I44 too, but the arma 1 Release came so late! Dont play it because I wait for the Arma 2 version. :( The same answer that most mods would give: When it's done, which is as soon as possible. Code needs to be checked and changed (or improved) if necessary. All models and textures need to be looked at and sometimes tweaked. Missions need to be reworked to account for the changes between ArmA1 and ArmA2. And the rest that is needed in order to port the project. All of that is in progress, the activity level during the holidays has been a little low, which I'm sure you'll understand
Soldat-Hans 0 Posted January 15, 2010 How far, or in which progress is the Port at this time?
JdB 151 Posted January 15, 2010 How far, or in which progress is the Port at this time? I will quote myself from the WWIIEC thread (different team, and two games apart, but the same age-old principle): Percentages are worthless. A mod might be done for 90%, but the remaining 10% can take a week, but also 6 months. It's "done when it's done" We can give you a percentage/estimate of 10% done or 90% done, and the time needed to do the rest of the work, but since we're unpaid modders, every little thing, whether it's modding related or real-life related can put seriously slow down progress. The projected time expires without a release, and a lot of people will be disappointed, angry or even violently abusive, which has happened far too often. It's pointless to ask for a release date, an estimate on the time needed to finish stuff, or a percentage/estimate of how much is done, we don't use deadlines since we have no working week of an X amount of hours to base them on unlike professional developers (to an extent). "When it's done" is the closest estimate we can give. For the ArmA1 release, I made a wallpaper and we were expecting to release about 1-2 days after it was posted on newssites, since it was done for like 98%. It turned out to be over 3 weeks. That's why we just can't make any predictions.
