What do mean? That it was bad? How could it be improved?

And thanks RougeScotsman :D

I spent alot of time over the weekend using these forums to find various issues I had when I made this Machinima over the weekend, so I figured I'd share even though I haven't posted on here before. Figured you guys would be best for feedback. I'm planning to re-shoot the last scene, as well as the whole thing again in HD as I forgot to check "full-frame" in fraps (thats what I get for being sleep deprived). Anyways, lemme know what you think!

Not bad at all! Quite enjoyable, actually!

Just so you know, to get the night vision goggles effect with camera.sqs you just have to use camUseNVG true, and you'll get fullscreen NVGs. ;)

I'd like to politely point you to the video thread for future reference. There's a lot of good videos there also, but most importantly that's where the moderators here would like them.

Good video though, keep it up. And you can also embed the video with Youtube tags.

Yeah I figured in would be in the wrong place, I spent all my time in the editing forums o.O When I do more I'll move it there, thanks!

and I wish I knew that before, man it was such a pain filming over the right shoulder while moving o.O haha~ (something I'll use for the HD shoot, thanks!)

I know nothing about movie making, but you know what would of made that amazing? (imo anyway)

The music was awesome it was like a build up something incredibly epic, it felt so good. While watching it I was picturing the ending I wanted to see.

Everything you did would stay the same but this:

They're flying in on the chopper, and disembark, but instead of showing a sudden firefight, show them approaching the tent/house. (Picture your soundtrack playing the whole time)

Have then line up on the sides preparing to breach.

Show the terrorist putting the gun near to the hostages head.

Have the nato team them do the animation for a door breach and entry. (you know pre-built animation/script?)

But have it in slow motion.

They go into the tent with that animation and you see them facing the terrorists, guns drawn, he terrorists facing them. Still all in slow motion.

And at the peak of the epic music where you don't know what will happen, who will shoot first, the scene is washed out in white (overexposure) the music keeps going and then credits roll. It just ends like that!

Lol can you imagine what I'm seeing!?

No, I didnt mean it was a bad video, it was really rather good.

I mean, the slow motion dying, along with that twisted song, meant that I could almost feel the pain. Kind of an all round disturbing experience. I guess if that is what you were aiming for then it is a good thing.

Lots of things have changed during the last years...

Eight years ago I played a map called "Hexenkessel" for the first time, yesterday a new version of Desert Island was released and I decided to take a look at that map again...

Interesting video, but watching that I think I can say, 'not that much has changed!' they still look quite similar.

The animation from jogging to crouch is worse in arma2? Aswell as from crouch to movement again. Other animations are better than in OFP. And of course the visuals are alot better.

My new ARMA 2 Machinima: Porto Heroes.

[youtub]FzZeXWf5RSk

Enjoy!

Please comment, this is my first ARMA2 film using the camera and I want to know people's opinions on how it turned out ;)

Nice video mate!

Like the action and the shots getting it, like the red direct down view of them driving up the street. Music is nice too

BTW, how did you change the youtube "preview" snapshot? ie the first static picture we all see (instead of the standard "middle of the video")

Go to your video, on top left click on 'edit video'

Then you get an option of 3 here:

Although I'm not sure how to upload your own icon.

Honestly, Funkman: that was the best Arma 2 machinima I've ever seen! Funny, yet poignant. Irreverent, yet with a serious undertone. Absolute gold, I tell you, perfect. And, I think, very much in keeping with what BIS intended with the OFP/Arma series: a commentary on war. Beautiful!

Regards,

Wolfrug
