Arma II & OA User Video Thread

The intro sequence for my upcoming four part series, The Regiment. Based upon actual operations conducted by the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, the series will tell the story of the U.S. Army Rangers, their triumphs and tragedies, as they fight their way through the Korengal Valley in some of the bloodiest fighting of the Afghan war. The art direction is a bit experimental, heavily influenced by the HBO mini-series, The Pacific. I wasn't quite sure how it was going to pan out when we initially edited it, but it turned out excellent, IMHO.

I shed a tear, and came. ;)

Frapsed and rendered today, 720p (1366x768 actually, most of the settings on High, Very High :D). Arma 2 on a Notebook! See it to believe it, more where that came from; all vids are on the 'beast' machine listed in my signature. Enjoy.

2.5km on Warfare but I had Objects set to High -- you want the setting on Very High for PVP, so the objects begin to be drawn at 2.2km. (it's the maximum on any view distance).

For coop I used 2km - that was Domination map, didn't feel like 2km, tho, I tried increasing it to 7km without performance drops.

P.S. the occasional hiccups are due to Fraps writing huge files to the HDD and my WD is a 5400RPM, not 7200. They use 5400RPM in notebooks since 7200 tend to die under conditions of laptop use. (Increased heat generation, power consumption & vibration/shock resistance) :)

Great vids Iroquois, and you have one powerful laptop if you have framerates like that when playing, let alone recording =)

I also just have to keep praising Ace2, since that mod is the only reason I still play ArmA 2 (well, mods in general, but mostly just Ace2).

Nothing great but over the last few months made a few (Planning for more). Have to say some are better than others and i rushed maybe 1 of them (Blues Highway). Was thinking about making a series but with each 5 mins being 1.14GB i'd have to lower Rendering, and with a upload of 0.30 than it takes forever to upload..... YAY!

As you may of noticed i've modded my game SO MUCH, don't worry i use different shotcuts for different things.

Yeah that was the shadow of the boat through the clear water. Does look odd though :p
