Wolfrug 0 Posted October 1, 2009 That's strange, sparks50 : whenever I get a new PM I get a pop up telling me that OMG OMG A NEW PM!!111oneeleven" and asks me if I want to read it and where I want to read it and everything. Maybe turn that function on if you have it off? (or allow pop ups?) Regards, Wolfrug
sparks50 0 Posted October 1, 2009 That was the first thing I checked. But in both IE 7 and latest Firefox, with both turned off popupblocker, there is no notification. Theres no green bar telling me something has been blocked with it on either.
viibez 10 Posted October 2, 2009 howdy, an option to link user to threads he has posted in. (my apologies if there already is a way to do that :o i have looked and cant find anything) As i always lose my posts :( - anyway just a suggestion. [hmm try search for my name!] lol will try that. Deadfast 43 Posted October 2, 2009 Click your username, / statistics / Find all posts by viibez. Alternatively you can just select "Find more posts by ...." from the drop-down menu that appears after clicking on person's name (next to his post) :)
Maddmatt 1 Posted October 3, 2009 That was the first thing I checked. But in both IE 7 and latest Firefox, with both turned off popupblocker, there is no notification. Theres no green bar telling me something has been blocked with it on either. Probably because you have the notification turned off. Go to: http://forums.bistudio.com/profile.php?do=editoptions Turn on "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up".
sparks50 0 Posted October 3, 2009 (edited) Nope, its on as default. Turned it off and on again, still no work. Edit: fixed, I assume an admin must have looked at my case. Edited October 5, 2009 by sparks50

Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted November 21, 2009 I think that making a stickied "Does this addon exist?" thread would do wonders for newcomers and would minimize the amount of people posting threads asking if somebody has made X addon.
W0lle 1052 Posted November 21, 2009 That's exactly what the addon request thread is for. Making another thread makes no sense imho because as soon as it exceeds 3 pages people start ignoring it as they ignore the addon request thread. Simply because they think they have a better chance if a new thread is made than posting in one with hundreds of pages.
Colt45_GTO 10 Posted December 2, 2009 how about the ability to be able to delete our own threads? we have this on a car forum it works well for the members keeping the place tidy.
W0lle 1052 Posted December 2, 2009 No way, not even single posts. :) Do you really want that if for example someone is unhappy with his thread he just can delete it, including a few hundred replies in it? If you want a thread of yours being deleted, report it and we might do it (or even not).
Colt45_GTO 10 Posted December 2, 2009 lol no i didn't mean to just wipe out a thread if someone didn't agree. simply incase someone posts a very similar thread at the same time. or somehow post in the wrong section. anyway never mind you guys do a splendid job ;)

Nazul 10 Posted December 13, 2009 Is it possible to get the date format changed to what the rest of the world uses and not just for americans? ie. day:month:year. When you think about it that format makes sense. from smallest time measure up to the biggest. And another unrelated rant- Anyone else sick of English being referred to as English(US) and English(insert picture of american flag) ? Im not even English but it pisses me off. Makes no sense to me, actully sorting by month, then day and year makes more sense then sorting by DD/MM/YYYY. And another unrelated rant- Anyone else sick of English being referred to as English(US) and English(insert picture of american flag) ? Im not even English but it pisses me off.Nope. It's totally pointless and as you say, unrelated. The forum software is by default english (U.S.) hence the reference to U.S. and the american flag. Please stop spamming the forums with such pointless stuff would you? If any reference to the U.S. pissing me off then maybe look for some local forum. ;)
Colossus 2 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Is it possible to get the date format changed.. No, I'm afraid it's not. I believe that this might require a mod or a hack (I think thats the right word for it) of vBulletin, and I don't suppose risking crashing the forum for visual taste is a matter of priority. I guess we'll have to live with it :) Of course, I understand what you mean. I myself also prefer DD/MM/YYYY as I probably know what month it is but do not know the date of the month (i.e. day is more important), but as this is a cultural opinion on a international forum and this being the default settings to vBulletin, I guess we have to live with our differences. And as I said, it will be a risk adding such a rather small matter in to a very large forum-system. I don't suppose neither you or me would like to have the forum offline for a whole day, maybe more if things goes wrong, just to switch December 13 to 13 December. NeMeSiS 11 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Makes no sense to me, actully sorting by month, then day and year makes more sense then sorting by DD/MM/YYYY. Well, since this is an international forum and most of the world uses DD/MM/YYYY it makes alot more sense to use that. ;) EDIT: Sence/sense, when will i ever learn? sparks50 0 Posted December 13, 2009 actully sorting by month, then day and year makes more sense then sorting by DD/MM/YYYY. Just curious: How? Ive always found the latter system to make more sense, as it is low value-medium value-high value, where as MM : DD : YY is medium value-low value-high value. Nazul 10 Posted December 14, 2009 Wolle is just being negative for the sake of being negative. If the system was in reverse ie d/m/y and someone asked about changing it he would give the same argumentative answer. BIS is a Czech company and this server is located in CZ, you'd think they would want it their way. D/M/Y.

Ive always found the latter system to make more sense, as it is low value-medium value-high value, where as MM : DD : YY is medium value-low value-high value. To each his own I would say. Maybe living in the U.S. for almost seven years had more impact on me than I thought. :D Wolle is just being negative for the sake of being negative. If the system was in reverse ie d/m/y and someone asked about changing it he would give the same argumentative answer.BIS is a Czech company and this server is located in CZ, you'd think they would want it their way. D/M/Y. Of course not, and I don't mind if there's an additional system. And even if there would, I would still prefer the U.S. one. ;) The fact that BIS is a czech company and the server location has no impact on the fact that by default the forum software is set to the U.S. format. I'm sure that it's possible to add an additonal time format, however like colossus said there's always a chance that something went wrong while adding it and thus the forums are down until the mess is fixed. Dead3yez 0 Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) The sprocket flash banner at the top of the forums causes major CPU use for me. Also some memory. Can this be fixed? Scroll up so that the banner is on screen whilst monitoring your CPU usage in task manager or whatever, then scroll down so it is off the screen. You should see what I mean.
