Arma 2 Spamming all the ARMA websites

Is ARMA that bad that we have to spam every ARMA one website with ARMA 2 information adnosium?  

   I am looking forward to Arma 2 I think just as much as the next player.  But I really am tired of , OH LOOK a PISTOL picture from ARMA 2.  Oh look a PIG in ARMA 2.

Is there a huge pay off for all these ARMA websites by the creators of ARMA2?  If that is the case then GREAT, I understand why we are getting so many screenies of ARMA 2.

But if that is not the case, why is there not a ARMA2 information link instead of taking up valuable ARMA one space.

I for one feel that if I want ARMA 2 information, I will go look for it.  But scrolling through 3/4 of a webpage seeing screen shots of UPCOMING stuff is getting tiresome.

I am not trolling.  I just wanted to comment on what I have been observing over the last couple weeks.

well, it is suposed that all Arma players will be interested aswell in the development of Arma 2 ,since it is is its natural sequel. Maybe it's as simple as that .The thing is to complain about everything.

They show the news as they have always done in the past. This is the way the OFP/ARMA and ARMA2 Community works,   "Together as one!"

And the websites well they can post what they want. And if you go to http://www.armaholic.com/ they have a filter for Arma news Arma 2 News Mission News and All News. Right bang in the middle of the page

Just a nature of things, community ArmA sites cover both games, since they share the same name and target audience. Usually any news is good news too, even it's a gun or whatever. It was fairly common with OFP>ArmA sites too. Eventually the sites split up into OFP only and ArmA only sites. This time around tho, I can't see it happening because both games share the name and there is no need for additional costs and effort to do so.

If you really don't want to see ArmA2 news on ArmA sites, I'm fairly sure all major community news sites have a way of filtering visible content.

Lol i dont get it they got ArmA 2 comeing but what about the Operation Flashpoint dragon rising its the original game so why is all up in arms about ArmA 2 I have not been hearing any thing much about Dragon Rising Just ArmA 2. ArmA 2 is an 505 game and Dragon Rising is just Codemaster but they got the same developers? I just dont get it maybe its an off brand game to get more mony? But Dragon Rising is the Original game. Its comeing out here in about an month 5/26/09 i think. But if some one can tell me why there are two diffrent games and why that ArmA 2 is getting all the fule for the Bohemia community and why the Original game is not?

BIS are the developers of OFP + ArmA + Arma2.

CM was the publisher of OFP and saved the name "Operation Flashpoint". Now CM is using the name "Operation Flashpoint" for their own new game called "Operation Flashpoint:Dragon Rising".

Both are different new games with different game engines developed by different developers. Here we are at BIS "HQ forum" with OFP, ArmA and soon Arma2 threads/topics.  

Arma2 is going have different publishers to sell the game worldwide.

The info I am really waiting for, is, what is with the next ArmA(1) patch?

I really don't care about all the ArmA II screenshots.

I'm disappointed with ArmA I and the patch releasing policy and the last thing I will do is to buy ArmA II just because of the ongoing massive screenshot campaign.

This time, after the ArmA II release, I will sit and wait.

Watching the TROUBLESHOOTING section.

If ArmA II has all the old bugs/sounds/glitches, I'm not going to support BIS again and "hope for the future patches".

So far A2 looks much less "arcadish" than its adversary and that is a big plus for BIS.

Hopefully authors can still "vbs-it" up a bit more and leave coddies in a dust with their support spammed by 12-year olds asking for even bigger bunny hops

It seems as the "Name Game" pr-trick by Codies has got alot of people confused. I have read many comments on Ofp2 videos where people belive its the "true" followup on Ofp1, even after others have explained they still belive Ofp2 is the "real" deal because it carries the name Ofp.

And Thanks Matt for pointing out that filter that I must have been blind too.  I guess I have been on auto pilot and totally missed that.  

I am looking forward to the release, I just worry when there is so much Hype.  It often leads to disappointment and it seems the Hype machine has been ratcheted up the last couple weeks.

If the news wasn't posted on ArmA news sites, where would be go? It's ArmA 2, it has the same name as said, it's the sequel.

The news on the ArmA 1 front is slowing down now because ArmA 2 is on the way, addons coming out now are either being put out the door so people can use them before it comes out, or wound down and prepared for the new game, or maybe even scrapped all together because the things being made are already in ArmA 2.

Also I don't understand the problem here. Unless you pay extra to access the news sites why should it be such a big deal? You're getting news for free and it's not exactly unrelated to what you're looking for. People need to calm down and quit complaining about things that are done for them for no cost other than a few moments of their time to absorb it.

I'm not a fan of this campagne of screenshots, to be honest i'm just interested by features and what the "new" engine will bring as possibilities to the community, i don't like neither their "balance" between realism/authenticity/gameplay even if i understand it !!

So yes those screenshots everyweek, it's ok, that's better than nothing but i'm more excited by words.

I enjoy the screen shots, but only in moderation. Every time I log on to ArmAHolic there's new screens. Which kind of bugs me, but hey, I like the info that BIS is putting out

Around this stage of ArmA's development everybody was whining about the lack of images or details, now this time people are whining about the existance of these things! BIS can't win, people whine whatever they do. Nobody is forcing you to get the game, or even look at the news. You have the choice to look and read it or not, or you can just scroll past it and ignore it. It's not going to jump out and rip your jugular out!

Now there is at least screens , info and videos to use as marketing when you bring around word to your friends and other people on the net about the game

Will Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising have community like ArmA? It all depends on the people who will play Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising.

OFP community from Bohemia Interactive was started by players, perhaps if players were not that interested, Bohemia Interactive would never release any modding tools...
