vilas 477 Posted April 30, 2008 replacement file is added as "addon" in readme or in setup of mod you can switch off replacements edit : picture of LAV-25 added
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 30, 2008 The LAV looks very good fellas. I believe the pintle-mounted MG would have been an M60E3 back in '85 though. Most of the images of LAV-25s I can find from Operation Just Cause (1989/1990) show an M60 on there, but there are one or two with an M240E1 (with spade-grips as opposed to the butt-stock on your M240G). I'd assume it'd be M60s only in the years before that. M60E3: http://www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets....13.JPEG http://www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets....11.JPEG http://www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets/Still/1989/Navy/DN-ST-89-10069.JPEG M240E1: http://www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets/Still/1990/Navy/DN-ST-90-02120.JPEG http://www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets/Still/1990/Navy/DN-ST-90-11466.JPEG That said, it'd be cool if you could still include the one with an M240G somewhere for those who'd like to use your LAV-25s in modern scenarios, for example with Jonny's MARPAT units. CameronMcDonald 146 Posted April 30, 2008 Woah, cancel my entire post - you are indeed correct. <Slaps self in brain>
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 30, 2008 Maybe; I have no idea what the M60E2 was like. I'm only familiar with the M60E3 having that front-grip etc, so I guessed it as that.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted April 30, 2008 See above - my apologies!
Thunderbird 0 Posted April 30, 2008 LAV25??USMC in 1985??Pretty good ,but marines don't fight in Europe  Nothing is unreasonably and irrationally done in the MOD, every decision and every choice is set with some solid reasons behind. And we actually have many reasons to include a part of '85 USMC within the MOD in conjunction with US Army Forces. Plus, we are backed up in these regards by our new member and USMC specialist and modeler, Fischkopp. Regards, TB
vilas 477 Posted April 30, 2008 M60 and M240 version - yes, as addon would be easy, probably than in P85 will be M60 only and M240 version will be as "extra" file than
NoRailgunner 0 Posted April 30, 2008 eagleusa the US Marines are in Europe since late 1940's (reinforce of the 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean). Search for MARFORLANT and 2nd MEF and EUCOM. If you like it or not often different "branches" work together or give support. Would be very easy for OPFOR for example if in combat Army don't support/assist Marines and vice versa. GodHammer 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Work in progress over Sa-9 Gaskin. Cheers, GH.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted May 1, 2008 Nice stuff, GH! Could I wager a guess in that someone must be making an MTLB (SA13) for that lovely SA9?
GodHammer 0 Posted May 1, 2008 I'm working on a Sa-9 chassis, based on the 4x4 wheeled BRDM. The one displayed is the 9M31M " Strela-1", improved version missile. Meanwhile, SA-13 uses, for what I know, the 9K35 "Strela-10 ", a different radar and of course a different chassis. They seem similar but are in effect different But all my knowdledge is based on Web researches, so I may be wrong

Shadow NX 1 Posted May 2, 2008 Hehe, yeah that one is already considered for the mod since a while. If anyone has more suggestions feel free to post them but make sure it isnt older/newer than mid 80s. Especially a bit more russian rock would be nice. Especially a bit more russian rock would be nice. Surely a "must" is "Two Tribes" by "Frankie Goes to Hollywood", released in May 1984. Full version: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lFtfSpn7PNU Shorter: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SXWVpcypf0w (funny how music can catapult you back in time...) edit: Just thought of another one. "19" by Paul Hardcastle also came out in 1985. It is ostensibly about Vietnam but its anti-war message is universal. edit2: Well, maybe forget "19". It mentions Viet Nam all through it. "Two Tribes" was a famous Cold War song though. Also notorious because the band had some of its songs banned in the UK at that time
