datakill 1 Posted February 21, 2009 Alright, what do you guys think if, for the next version, I remove the forced faces ? Better ? @MODUL, awesome pic ! Do you have more ?
wipman 1 Posted February 21, 2009 Hi, yes, i think that will be better; unless in Irina. Let's C ya
wipman 1 Posted February 21, 2009 Hi, this are the bugs that i was talking about: The shadow under the helmet on all the units that use that kind of helmet looks weird, as it dissapears from the upper side of the unit's head. And there's a small slice in the Irina's neck on the red marked area, but it's few noticeable. Let's C ya *Edit: yes, it's true... using that unsigned replacement the units do use the custom faces without problems.
havocsquad 0 Posted February 21, 2009 Hmm, these screenshots remind me of a question that keeps bugging me. Has anyone tried to mobilize or drum up support for any duty uniform or dress uniform units for the various Russian/Soviet armed forces branches? Â No, I am not referring to BDUs or battle fatigues. I know Armed Assault comes with a few that look somewhat Russian/Soviet officer-like, however that is strictly for SLA. My view is Armed Assault needs this to provide more seperatist Russian officers with overinflated egos (General Guba), more desk jockeys, and more logistics or intellegence officers. I'd like to go on about the need for HQ enterable buildings to give an "administration" feeling to a mission, but that's a whole different topic.
Binkowski 26 Posted February 21, 2009 Great units, glad to see some very well made VDV units in ArmA!
HELLFREEZA 0 Posted February 21, 2009 Great Units! but i felt sad as i found no replacement pack in it. Â Thank you datakill for the great units! Thank you burns for the replacement!
RabidStoat 39 Posted February 21, 2009 D/l link still says v1.0, just wanted to check there wasn't a new version number on the updated version? Trite though it sounds - loving these
datakill 1 Posted February 21, 2009 @RabidStoat At this time there is just a 1.0 release and a replacement pack made by Mr Burns. Also we are already working on an update.

manzilla 1 Posted February 22, 2009 Mirror by ePrison.deRussian VDV and Recon (Airborne) v1.01 by datakill Regards, Stavanger Stavanger, This isn't v1.01. He hasn't released it yet as far as I know. He just did a quick fix to v1.0, but it's still v1.0.
datakill 1 Posted February 22, 2009 True manzilla and Stanvanger, it's still 1.0. Maybe there is a little confusion in the versions because I corrected the little bug you discovered few hours after the release. No big deal though, an update will be released tomorrow. wipman 1 Posted February 23, 2009 Hi, i hope that don't be already too late for say it, but i think that some of the wounds textures need a check: The blood on the legs is the same dirt than in the groin of the units that use a BP vest and they seem too bright to me; the units with the BP vest share the same wounds than the units that don't have this vest so the wounds on 'em don't look that good, also, the units don't display any blood trace on the skin, hands.. face.. or any other flesh piece. Maybe make the units that don't wear BP vests use the v1.14 wounds may be a good idea, i don't really know how the wounds textures work in the O2, so i don't know what could be made for improve a bit the shape of the wounds on those units that wear the BP vest. datakill 1 Posted February 23, 2009 Thanks for the report, gonna look at it. Not too late though, the update is delayed to the end of the week (friday ?), we are adding more models. Cheers
Deathstruck 375 Posted February 28, 2009 Aha, saw the WiP GRU spetsnaz units Just a question, do GRU use Maska-1 helmets ? And if yes are you planning to include them ?
miles teg 1 Posted February 28, 2009 Yeah, if they use those Maska-1 helmets, that would be super cool to see a few guys with those for heavy assault Spetsnaz units. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
DiFool 0 Posted February 28, 2009 Just a question, do GRU use Maska-1 helmets ? I saw pictures from the 79-89 afghan war with Russian SpetsNaz wearing that helmet (w/o visor). But who knows if they were KGB or GRU or whatever? Why not?
miles teg 1 Posted February 28, 2009 Quote[/b] ]I saw pictures from the 79-89 afghan war with Russian SpetsNaz wearing that helmet (w/o visor). But who knows if they were KGB or GRU or whatever? Why not? I don't think they used that helmet back then. Â What you probably saw was the STSh-81 "SPHERA" helmet. The Sphera has been used for quite awhile though I don't think it's used much anymore. Â I mainly see the Maska-1 helmet today on Spetsnaz units conducting heavy assaults like in anti-terrorist operations where they have to clear buildings. DiFool 0 Posted February 28, 2009 No, not the sphera. Looks more like the maska. But it may be a similar model. Writing from my cell phone now and the pic is on my pc.
datakill 1 Posted February 28, 2009 According to what I know, the "maska" helmet is more for the VV/MVD (ministry of interior troops) urban operations and  the "sphera" helmet is more for army / regular and maybe also some MVD...but I could be wrong. As for our GRU-spetsnaz addon they will mostly wear light stuff : caps, bandanas, boonie hats, wool caps....stuff like these :
miles teg 1 Posted February 28, 2009 Well, I guess that's up to you guy. I can't complain as the quality of these guys is top knotch and so far are my favorite Russian infantry addons. However it would be nice to have some heavy assault Spetsnaz with the heavier equipment. Has anyone made any Russian forces with the Sphera or Maska helmets in ArmA? If so I'll be happy using that addon for specific missions and you're addon for large scale airborne assaults and long range recon missions. Ah...now if only we had a good Russian transport aircraft to parachute from. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
NoRailgunner 0 Posted February 28, 2009 Guess that datakill is right Maska (heavy weight! ) - more for MVD/OMON police units Sphera - more for russian troops Special forces can usually take and mix what they need for their missions. I like to suggest to make a little Antiterror group with 2 or 3 units equipped with Maska. All other units should be imho more army/regular/airborne/scout.
