Have you thought about compiling them into a video and sticking it on Youtube? Someone did it twice with the old screenshots but I think it's time for an update.

I'm working on it.

In fact, it's just uploading to YouTube right now smile_o.gif

Wow, it's looking really good! The only thing I can see that could be improved is that the autumnal trees look quite monotone - I would expect more variation in colour between the leaves on each tree. However, I do live in a country where all the plants are evergreen  wink_o.gif

i wonder about gameplay screens and trailers  icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, some footage of OFP2 was released, looked little weird but nice (and some helicopter screens with trees from like arma 0.75).

Anybody said something about bipods? Cause there is rpk and there were some as far as i know.

Hello there,

Looks all rather nice , the feature info is all a bit vague but it is PR after all. smile_o.gif

I of course like the "Team Gameplay"-PDF the most , because in PR speak it claims BIS works on the area I personally think is the most important one as far as improving gameplay goes.

I hope the "New easy to use commanding interface" isn't only easy , but combat effective as well and also lets you handle 3 fireteam Marine Squads pretty well for example.

On that note , I don't know if you guys at BIS already do this , but I believe it would be worth the time if the whole team gets together each friday before the majority leaves and plays the game for a bit.

For example if you were to set up all kinds of varied scenarios(infantry, combined arms, urban, forrest, open, defend, attack, ambush) with humans leading AI squads and then battle it out , I am pretty sure you will quickly see what works and what needs improving. smile_o.gif

Keep it up!

looking like Arma II is shaping up very nicely. Well done BIS!

Had a giggle when I saw the PDf page about the Virtuality Engine though.I couldn't help but think of the android 'Hime' from 'Get Smart' with that face and stiff pose on the ol'ofp grunt.

There are some on youtube, mind you these were very very early ingame video's that had only a few changes and were using standard Arma vehicles thus causing a big muckup over it.

I'm personally can't give Arma too much flak, in a way it seemed like BIS "practice game", every developer does this, for DICE it was BF2 obviously when compared with BF2142, the change in textures, models and dynamics was greatly improved as was lighting, shaders and specs (for some reason).

Now we look at Arma, BIS's first game with normal and specular maps and complex shaders, now we see Arma II and they look entirerly different.

Back to the video's, I decided to be nice and just link em http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvNBtdXjXmQ Just keep in mind these are old, I'm sure we'll see much change in the comming updates.

On a side note I just watched a video called Poseidon to ArmA 2 : A History of Flashpoint which curiously showed some V-22 footage and a UAV hovering about, I don't think it was VBS2 but I can't recall seeing this, has anyone else?

I am actually wondering if the vehicle skins are setable with some kind of command in the editor or that they just made multiple entry's for each vehicle since they said that there were less vehicle types then playable vehicles.

Awesome screenshots. I like the dog and the old lady. Very impressive.  thumbs-up.gif

Barely-injured, I think BIS is supposed to show a trailer sometime tomorrow (friday). Hopefully that is correct because I'm ready to see some ingame footage. If not, then Arma2.com will launch on September 1st and hopefully a video will be included, though there is no evidence to assume one would.

I'm slightly disappointed that the muzzle fire hasn't been upgraded as seen in the third photo, but in the end I'm still overwhelmed by quality I'm seeing. inlove.gif

Looks very good the location of Chernarus is like very close to Georgia... and also the campaign story even seems to be close to what is going on in Georgia except the marines and what not. I wonder what happens when you go to far on the map on each side where there is land?

Excellent new screens, but as I said before my biggest concern is that the animations will look bulky. I need a video before I get to excited.

Thanks for the new screens Raptor! It does look very good, and I reckon the waves aren't a big deal personally.

The atmosphere in this screenshot is nothing but amazing.

Agreed 100%

I hope that civilians are 'fleshed out' a little in terms of their reactions to their environment ie... screaming, crouching in fear, running for their lives or smiling at a soldier (note, tight-jean-girl) to bring a little more life to our game world.
