OAC (OFP ArmA Conversion)

Trying to get a new server up and running but will not start keep getting this error message    circular addon dependency in 'oac_cwr_compatibility_addon

The addons is there does the CWC demo have to be installed never had this prob on our other server.

Now missing cwr_units_east any ideas?

Greetings to the OAC Team!

I want to thank you a lot for putting time and effort into making many ArmA-Players dream (includes me wink_o.gif ) come true. I had fun with the good old OFP missions -as long as they did not take place on Everon.

Whenever I tried to play one of these or the PMC and ULOTC campaigns, my game crashed on loading and told me

cannot load world "

I tried to play without lowplants and still...

cannot load world"

My setup is OAC (downloaded everything today using YOMA) with CWR addons following the instructions linked in this thread here.

I have additional addons active like ECS and the stuff from the realism thread but without their replacements of course.

But I am pretty sure these addons don't cause the crash since I am fine on the other CWC islands, just trying to play anything on Everon makes the game do a CTD.

Hopefully someone knows a solution to this, since I am really eager to play ULOTC again... Loved that one with WGL!

You need the Sgt Ace everon. Check out Armaholic.com's addons section, it's there. It's got a couple of bugs, but it does nicely until we get a new Everon island.

I have no grass on that everon version. is it related to the mod? (on the other hand, I don't get grass on porto, too. any clues??)

The ACE islands only have grass for the one ArmA textures.

Sgt. Ace Everon has grass, shorter grass.

I have fixed the problem with loading in his version, yet

as Symbiot will release his version soon anway, the release hassle

is probably not worth to release the update for the Sgt. Ace one.

Did downloading Sgt. Ace version help?

We can convert pretty much any campaign on request.

Of course you will take the part of the playtester though.

@Q: Yep, downloading the SGT ACE version did the trick and I am now happily engaging in ULOTC biggrin_o.gif

I noticed the enemy AI in the second mission to be more "reasonable" or, if one looks at it from the OPFOR commanders point of view, more "cowardly".

After I had called Support and the enemy armor was destroyed, the Trucks did not even attempt to cross the minefield and retreated instead...

Made me somehow feel more successful as a guard post than I would have felt by killing the OPFOR infantry in countering their usual "human wave attack".

Regarding Your offer to convert more if I was to playtest:

Revolution 1983 was a good one; I'd definitely like to do that one in ArmA OAC/CWR + all my AI addons.

Retaliation would be another great addition, as well as Shadows of the Motherland.

And finally Too Young Too Die; though that one was already damned hard in OFP and I bet most ArmA players using AI addons (including my sorry self) wouldn't even survive 15 minutes in the first mission after the all-out-attack had started wink_o.gif

Hi all,

some more playing experiences to be posted:

@CameronMcDonald: I use OAC and CWR combined and still have a campaign option in the GUI though it's in OFP style as the rest of the GUI including the graphics, sound and difficulty settings.

I mean, if it were inevitable that the campaign option vanishes after installing the both OAC and CWR, how would people -inluding me now that I have the right island- be able to play ULOTC or PMC Fury at all?

Maybe you have to reinstall the mods or change the load order?

But of course there are problems with these mods; my first bug report is that I cannot choose a M 60 Machine Gun in the equipment pool prior to mission start.

I -provided I am Squad Leader of course- can also NOT assign this rifle to anybody else. I tried with two of the converted CWC missions where you have M 60 in the pool;and one of the missions even had the weapon pre-issued for two of my squad members.

After I took the weapon away from them, it appeared in the weapons pool, but I could not give it to anyone including the guys that had the M 60 before I took it from them. Forgot to check if I can pick the weapon in-game from a fallen comrade, but at least I witnessed them firing it. Also looks like the M 60 as it should.

Well, my second bug report is that after installation of OAC and CWR my localization was messed up. It had turned somehow from my native german to english. Well, I speak that language, too wink_o.gif

But after I had changed back to german, some items remained english and some other items showed...

Italian Designations wow_o.gif

Now those sound cool, 'Lanciarezza LAW' or 'Caricatore M 16' has defifnitely more 'music' within than 'Raketenwerfer LAW' or 'Magazin M 16' biggrin_o.gif

Some of the mission names are also in Italian now, though the briefings remained german as well as the mission description in the GUI screen.

Well, the subtitles in ULOTC missions also are only flashing shortly into view; not long enough to read them...

What I've seen from those brief glimpses they're english, but I think they will be anyway even if my game is perfectly german localized otherwise.

Thanks for the feedback tourist!

I will convert all campaigns this week and upload them to the SVN

server. Are you familiar with the software or willing to look into it?

It makes updating way less painful and you can play the latest

development version every day.

Regarding your bug reports.

Please post them in the future here:

OAC bugtracker

It helps a lot to keep things more manageable over here.

The language problem is know. I will see if I can fix it finally.

The M60 problem is new. Lets see if I can repro it.

Finally updated the OAC YomaTools server again. smile_o.gif

* Added BISign + key for all pbos for MP.

* Several new or update replacement configs available.

* Several updates to the CWR replacement.

* Many update to the OAC compatibility addon. Many class

  mapping like LSR, BAS, RED etc added.

* Add zGuba's addon to disable black faces for all but American.

* Campaign's added:

** Operation Sharkeye II (beta)

** PMC Joint Justice (alpha)

** Shadows of the motherland (alpha)

* Added several SP missions (pre alpha).

* Added a few MP missions (alpha/beta).

CWC campaign will be out soon. Unfortunately it could need

more polishing, yet without testers and my time restrictions

IMHO its better to release for those who are interested.

the thing that really put me off using this was the island quality, it was like going back to playing ofp quality islands. Are the islands now updated to Armed Assault quality?

Did you try different ground textures? Especially ArmA ones?

Are you sure the Mateck Abrams and T72 replacements will work correctly?

I'm asking since Mateck himself stated that his models are not fully compatible with ArmA 1.14 and would cause some errors especially in MP.

Version 0.95 is not optimized for ArmA version 1.14. Especially the armor values.

Also replacement pack is bugged and shouldn't be used in multiplayer game

I'm working on new version but that may take some time

So far everything works ok in SP for me too. I'm gonna test it in MP too.

One thing is very annoying: Why are the footsteps of the soldiers sounding like an aluminium can? I'm using FDF sounds but OAC overwrites this sound. How can I change that?

EDIT: The missions under OFP are mixed up besides the first mission steal the car.

it works fantastic! i cant wait to play the cwc campaign and all the other community made coops and pvp maps. are you going to plan to release also some of more complex maps like riverbattle, everon airport?

That is not supposed to happen.

Can you please test without FDF once and see if its still there?

If so can you please list your addons/modfolders.

What means mixed up - you mean not working?

They did before. Maybe an update or your addons made them fail.

The conversion itself is simple. However at times some tweaking

needs to be done.

More important these days I only convert missions on request.

So if you want any specific or just more, tell me.

i have downloaded the latest version from the yoma server today. i have installed cwr demo + addons v80. in addition to that i have downloaded all addons mentioned in the readme file and started with and without the disabled replacements.

in both cases i got the error message the "downloadable content has been removed - cwr units or cannons...." when i start my local server to play the mp missions (OAC standard e.g flagfight)

i startet arma with minimal configuration

-mod=CWR;OAC,ACE_Island

no further addons installed.

what could be wrong?

any help would be appreaciated.

There are several strange things.

At first please upload your arma.rpt:

You better not rename the modfodlers. otherwise it will make updating via YomaTools a big hassle.

So in the end it should look like this for OAC + CWR:

It's is a bit complicated and took me a while to figure it all out, but, if you follow the instructions below CWR + OAC should work together and with the replacement addons.

Details on correct order of loading mod folders, from OAC forum.

1) DBE1 always first (QG is not required for OAC)

-mod=DBE1;...

2) @OAC always last

-mod=...;@OAC

3) @ace_islands just before @OAC

-mod=...;@ace_islands;@OAC

4) The other optional OAC modfolders in this order

-mod=...@oac-optional-cwc-res-music;@oac-optional-unit-placement;@ace_islands;@OAC

5) CWR and @CWR-OAC in this order and before any other modfolders

-mod=DBE1;CWR;@CWR-OAC;...;@OAC

How I have set-up my shortcut.

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\arma.exe" -mod=DBE1;cwr;@oac-optional-cwr-replacement;@oac-optional-unit-replacement;@ace_islands;@PROPER

;@oac-optional-cwc-res-music;@oac -nosplash -world=empty -maxmem=512

(As far as I'm aware you must put the nosplash and world empty at the end for it to work properly)

To use replacement addons, place addon files in @oac-optional-unit-placement (NOT @oac-optional-cwr-replacement)

ONLY use one of each version (SU25 has 4 different versions and T80 has 2) MOVE the replacement PBOs and Bisign files from DISABLED folder into Addon folder but leave files for the versions not used (3 SU25 + 1 T80)

Also in CWR folder CWR_Ed_T80.pbo & CWR_Ed_T80.pbo.CWR.bisign must be disabled (make a folder called #Backup and place them both in it)
