OAC (OFP ArmA Conversion)

I have run into a problem, When I use OAC with CWR excatly like it was told on http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/OAC:DownloadAndPlay#Important_notes I cannot load a saved game, it would always tell me that the mission I am trying to play is depent on a file named data3d(.pbo) which is no longer there. Does anyone has the similar problem here? And any solutions avaible? If there is please tell me by this mail: Godspeeddash@gmail.com or just post a reply here~ Thank you a million time!~ By the way this is really a piece of great work!

Try to run OAC with CWR only - NOT combined with ACEIP.

If it did not work, please open a ticket at the OAC issue tracker

at dev heaven. Supply arma.rpt.

Great to go back to old ofp memories. And there's some campaigns I didn't played back then. Like ULOTC, but...are these campaigns tested?

I'm playing ULOTC, and some missions need to be played various times to trigger the end. Now I am in a mission unplayable, I have to make an insertion by helicopter and there are enemy tanks advancing. The heli doesn't land and everytime it is shot down by tanks. It's a shame, because the campaign was interesting.

Yes they are, by numerous people, numerous times.

The problems are the variables like ArmA version, AI settings, island used, addons used.

If you can provide the more details like mission naming and description when the

problem occurs in the mission, we will try to fix it ASAP.

Yes, the mission is ULOTC 11 Border Defense. The problem occurs at the beginning: you enter the chopper; when everybody is in, the AI pilot takes off and go towards LZ waypoint. But he never lands, he just fly in circles until the enemy tanks hit the chopper.

I play with Arma 1.16beta (with 1.15 I had problems with another mission, ULOTC 03 Attack...the enemy counterattack never came). The island is Sgt. Ace's Everon. I tried with ACE IP before with the same results (plus the problem with the saved games, that's why I tested with Sgt. Ace's)

sorry to report this, but you need to rewrite replacement configs for newest P85 mod release.

old P85(first release) with kenji's T-80s and so on, works fine.

BTW, speeches for CWC campaing doesn't work :(

Yep. A1 itself has no Bradley. Yet there are lots of replacements available. :)

In general P85 and CWR offer a big base, and check the list of single unit replacements:

Is there any chance to port the campaign "retaliation"? From my point of view is much better than red hammer, at the same level than cold war crisis/resistance

We have permission for it yes. However it is a lot effort to fix it.

Retaliation will only be released once it has near perfect quality and OTK needs to confirm

it.

So probably for A2. :)

Thanks for the nice conversions Q, but I would like to also salute people who got enough of courage and patience to get this all installed until the end, heh.

With no offense, I understand the willingness to keep files updated with Yoma's tool but what an adventure to get things installed and properly working. ;]

No doubts that an .exe would make life much easier, but I guess I'm not saying something new here.

Anyways, keep up the nice work! I enjoyed getting back to the cold war, once more.

I can not get the p85 replacements to work with oac. :confused:

Can someone post a sample commandline with the correct sequence of the mods?

And what should be in the replacement addons folder?

I downloaded the replacement folder with yoma's tool, but the addons folder was empty except a lot of subfolders. I then tried to pack all the subfolders with config.cpp into pbo's, but ran into error messages and crashes then. These configs seem to refer to older vilas class names? I read, that the replacements needed to be adopted to the newest vilas release, but I had understood, that this should have been done already?

Sorry if this has already been answered somwhere else. I did not find it.

Whats hard about installing YAS, adding the OAC server, hit download all

and configure the modfolders?

There will be an installer, yet it can't make using modfolders, getting base

addons for replacements, downloading CWR/P85 etc easier.

So if you have any specific suggestion how to make it easier, feel free to share

it and it will be realized for sure. :bounce3:

IMPORTANT: First make sure you have beta 1.0.9 of Yoma Addon Sync.

It seems you have either

a) still old files in there:

1. Launch YAS
   
2. Connect to OAC
   
3. Downloads tab
   
4. Hit 1) Check for addons
   
5. Select the oac folder in the tree on the left side
   
6. Hit the button "delete extra files" in the top center
   

b) or do not have the latest files:

Check if you have pbos in:

x\oac\oac_replacements_p85\addons\#notInUse

If so move them to:

x\oac\oac_replacements_p85\addons

If not, update via YAS

1. Launch YAS
   
2. Connect to OAC
   
3. Downloads tab
   
4. Hit 1) Check for addons
   
5. Hit 2) Dowload addons
   
6. Move the pbos from #notInUse to one level higher

I did this, and it works so far, thanks!

However, the replacements in the #notInUse do not include infantry replacements. So when I do it like that, I only have the P85 vehicles, but still the vanilla troops.

There are two replacement configs in subfolders for east and west troops, but when I pack these to pbos and use them ArmA crashes. These still seem to refer outdated Vilas classnames.

What do you recommend? Should I use it in combination with e.g. CWR infantry replacements?

These are outdated indeed and should be removed. Not sure why you still

have these. Are you using YAS or git for download?

I only have the P85 vehicles, but still the vanilla troops.

We did not yet finish the infantry replacements.

You have to options:

1) Use infantry replacements of other authors found in

.\arma\x\oac\oac_replacements_units\addons\#noInUse

or combine with CWR indeed.

2) Complete the p85 infantry replacements yourself from our base. :)
