1.11 beta patch troubleshooting thread.

Ok BattleEye after 8+ hours of playing keeps kicking my off servers saying battle eye client is not responding.

Just to clarify something that took us a few hours to get working,The DeathMessages and NetStats need to be in your Arma Profile under the Difficulties class,and not in the Server.cfg

like the Wiki says.

I've been able to connect to a v1.11 server that was unapproachable by creating a shortcut that will open a connection straight away, e.g.<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -nosplash -noland -world=empty -connect=<IP address> -port=2302 -mod=beta

You could try and see if that works for you.

One last try: unpack your bin.pbo in beta/dta folder, unrap config.bin and post your DefaultWorld class.

Here's a possible fix for the water bug caused by the "Other mods bin.pbo".I use XAM so I simply de-pbo'd the beta bin and copied the shader files from it into a de-pbo'd XAM bin and packed it up again...worked like a charm.Now my water edge looks as it should.I uploaded the file here:

Note ,this rar is only a fix for my XAM install,but the method I used may work with other mods.

Yeah could fix the water bug too. I removed some unpacked bin stuff (had quite a lot). Removed an unrapified config.cpp, a bin folder in ArmA archive and all unpacked bin.pbo folders I could found.

seems ok too. You maybe have the same problem like me..an unpacked bin.pbo. Although you have other symptomes.

well i have already uninstalled and reinstalled the beta 1.11 and still have the same problem.. sad_o.gif i miss my sky

OK... we got this error too.

But we solved it.

1.

We run our windows server in a Xen-virutal machine on linux.

So Server IP was 10.0.0.2, but the "Internet-Address" was 83.217.X.X.

The network was not bridged, so we had a NAT Translation @ our Server.

We changed to the Xen Configuration to "Bridged" Networking (so the Server has its real IP) and we can connect to the server now.

Server IP = Internet-IP = 83.217.X.X

2.

Don't connect directly after Server start!

Wait some time (about 2 minutes) !

I got this error too, if I try to connect to early to the server.

So be patient! And "refresh" the Server list!

Hope that helps.

Please answer me, if the Server IP Address from your Server is the same as Internet-Address the Server must use!

We can't join an MP game using 1.11. I'm talking about non-dedicated server, that is from one computer to another.

What did you mean by "fixed" ?

Nobody's got this problem ?

It's quite easy to test it : just create an MP game (non queen gambit) on your computer, and ask someone to join your game (he should have 1.11 too).

You'll get "Connexion failed".

Forgot to mention : I don't have queen gambit.

I can copy that. I've got the same problem. I've informed blackland of the german arma support. He can copy that problem too. It only happens with ArmA 1.11 Beta. And I've got queens gambit.

Ah forget that tounge2.gif I think it's a queens gambit unit I have never used before 1.11 Beta biggrin_o.gif So I was wrong and this was no new feature.

I've checked my performance over north sahrani. It's perfect now! I can fly with 10 km viewdistance at maximum settings and ArmA rans with 40 fps - without patch 1.11 Beta there were only 20 to 30 fps at all. Good performance tweaking, BIS inlove.gif

Tonight while trying to connect on MP, i noticed that some servers are showing as running 1.11, but are not available for connection, due to a version conflict.  Specifically tonight I wanted to connect to GamingSA's Desert Warfare server, but could not as it was a red cross.  I tried using all versions that I have to connect (1.08, 1.09 and 1.11) but could not connect to that server with any of them due to a conflict between client and server versions.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour before?  Three others were connected to the server, so presumably this issue may not be the same for everyone.

Does 1.11 prevent you from accessing servers if you dont have the right mods?

We try to setup a dedicated server but to some countries (or whatever) the ping is a "?" and those who see the "?" cannot join. Connection Failed.

Anyone has some fix/idea about that "no ping showing" problem?

Did you have to do that BRIDGE (NAT) thingy? Trying to find where to set that up...

After "upgrading" a dedicated server that me and my friends are running to version 1.11, we also have the same problem that some have here in which no-one can connect to the server! mad_o.gif

When someone connects to the server he always get the messenge "Connection Failed".

When reverting to version 1.09, everything goes ok and everyone can connect.

I managed to connect to some servers running version 1.11 but not to our server.

So I also ask here if there are any solutions to this problem?

Hey Matt; Tried running on windowed moded for a while?

Tried it. Same problem sad_o.gif

Except this time I couldn't 'alt-tab' in the same way as when the game is in full screen, so I couldn't do anything about the bad performance. I tried minimising.

Only running the game in full screen and alt-tabbing when the FPS drops seems to keep performance up.

Using the FLUSH cheat doesn't help, so I guess it's nothing to do with textures or VRAM.

I found the problem. I had my PC overclocked, and it seems like it can't handle these settings any more. Maybe some dust somewhere.

Well I went back to stock clock frequency's for everything for now and Arma 1.11 is running great smile_o.gif

Now I just need to clean my PC to see if I can use those settings again confused_o.gif

I was having low fps and stuttering during the game and my card was oc'ed as well. I have 8800 GTS 512Mb but a singlecore P4-3.2, 3Gb-667 RAM on XPx64. I brought the shader and mem speeds to the stock values and had improvement on the stuttering.

It seems 1.11 patch brings out the bottlenecks in the HWare. The OC seems to work OK with 1.08 but creating some problems in 1.11.

It's like the game/systems is having a stack overflow or cannot process the info fast enough thus stalling/stuttering.

Another reason might be the load on network traffic on MP with VON on etc...

Do you have a single core as well?

Do you have a single core as well?

Your specs are very different to mine.

Mine:

Althlon 64 X2 3800 (dual core, 2x2Ghz)

Geforce 7800GT 256MB,

WinXP 32bit,

2GB RAM.

I actually notice the same problem without overclocking, but it's nowhere near as bad - the FPS differences are very small and barely noticaeble. But with the overclocking the difference was huge, like from 10 to 20FPS.

It wasn't stuttering until some artefacts started up.

I recently went back to 93.71 drivers so that I could control my GPU fan again (later ones seem to mess it up for this card, even 94.24) and I set it to 100% for 3D mode.

1.08 and 1.09 never had this issue, and neither do other games. Even Crysis ran fine with stuff overclocked.

So without overclocking and with these drivers I have to settle for slightly lower graphics settings (Post Processing on low sad_o.gif ). But at least it's stable confused_o.gif

Maybe I'll try the 94.24 drivers again. Performance seemed better for this card, but the lack of fan control might be a problem.

Also, the problem seemed to get worse with Post processing on high, I guess because it stresses my video card a lot.

I've got more results on debugging the no sky problem. When I run the game windowed (regardless of resolution), the sky appears perfectly fine. Yet in full screen I still get the bug no matter what I change the resolution to.

Hyrax0740, try running your game windowed and see if it fixes the bug for you. It's no permanent solution (not for me at least) but it should help in determining the cause of the problem. If this applies to everyone who's experiencing this bug it would be good to know their video and driver specs.

Hopefully someone at BIS is reading this, we could be pretty close to determining the reason for this annoyance.

blame BI ....

Blaming people isn't going to get anyone a fix why don't you try and help bi solve the issue. They have lives too and they have families to take care off, they cant work 24/7 to suit your needs especially over a easter holiday.
